Help finding a good deal for a dog bed please

Hi all, we have an elderly Basset Hound Derek who is in desperate need of a good new bed. If you know Bassets you will know they suffer from joint problems and that they are a BIG dog so he needs a large bed, and it must be easily washable.

Can anyone recommend a good bed for our old boy please? Something that will help with his joints whilst also being super comfy for him. We are hoping for £50 maximum if possible so Has anyone seen any good deals around, good discounts or sales? Has anyone bought a particular bed that you could recommend please?

There are two dog beds that are my go-to's and it does depend on what type of bed your dog prefers.

Our lab loves her tuffies beds and although a bit more expensive they're built to last.
Hik9's are good in a theraputic sense of being raised of the ground so it should be easier to step onto rather than dropping down onto a lower bed.

Not sure about the dog beds but you could try these to help his joints, I use them for my dog but ATM she has no joint pain I know about, not cheap but worth it imho.

Aw thanks for that, he actually already takes them and they have changed his life! He went from not being able to get up the stairs at home to now being able to do 1-2hr walks again, I swear by YuMove.

Large, easily washable and great quality is hard to find for £50. I own this for my big male Lab and there is tons of room. It's comfy enough, looks good and he seems to enjoy it. It's stood the test of time (over a year owned). I wouldn't say its great quality, but for the price and size we were happy enough (it's just one bed of several we own - in different rooms). It's better than the rest we own. To get great quality you are looking over £100. Either up your budget or a little compromise is needed

I can't vouch for the quality but mountain warehouse have quite a large selection in their sale at the moment.

I noticed that Costco had a few really nice looking orthopaedic beds in recently for around that price, if you have a Costco account, might be worth checking them out!

Apologies all for late response, I ended up getting an XL Bedsire bed for £70 on Amazon, my old man loves it! Thanks everyone for taking the time to pass on your advice.

Thanks that looks nice but is only for upto 12kg… my big lad is four times that maximum weight haha, he would flatten it in seconds. Appreciate the recommendation though.

How about buying a good quality kind size duvet or double duvet ? Fold it in half and you have a good are for the dog to stretch out on. Cover with a sheet or duvet cover..easy to wash and can't be ripped apart.
