Adapter for Xbox series X for optical cable

Posted 19th Jun 2023
For my old Xbox one, I used to have an optical cable connected to my amplifier.

On the new Xbox one X series this port doesn't exist.

Is there an adapter that anyone knows of that could be used against one of the USB ports?

Can you not take it from your monitor/tv

My pc runs through my tv & then I get optical connection to a soundbar

Yes there are HDMI audio extractors but they are normally limited to 10 or 18Gbps. Search for hdmi audio extractor.

Since it would require driver support, I doubt it.

    Try Google to confirm.

Why you say Amp do you mean DAC what you plug your headphones into? If so I bought the Astro HDMi to optical converter think it was £40

No it's a separate system. As in an amplifier the Xbox was connected to via an optical cable so the sound protected through the speakers

I used to have a monitor with no audio do I bought amazon.co.uk/gp/…KV/

Something similar would do you but you might need to look for something higher speed as I just needed it to do 1080p at 60hz

Not everyone is using a TV - I used to use a monitor with no audio in or out.
