Your 84p/kWh is off the scale expensive!

We currently pay 34p/kWh which is the maximum under the current price cap. We're thinking about moving to Economy 7 with EDF which is very cheap overnight but expensive during the day, yet the day rate is still only 55p/kWh. (edited)

It's a tough old time to run a business when leccy costs 84p/kWh.

I 'm not sure this applies to business, I've moved to a house on Economy 7 and it was much cheaper for me to ditch it and go onto a standard tariff. The house hadn't had storage heaters for years but the previous owner just kept the tariff. Was paying an extra 14p / unit day time , night units were only14p but didn't want to run noisy washer, etc. overnight. Was like a prison sentence being lifted when we changed not having to have a shower before 7 when the price went up.
