New boiler prices?

Has anyone had a new boiler fitted recently?
I’ve currently got a baxi that is 11 years old.
It’s actually showing signs that a part may have failed. The hot water temperature is fluctuating.

Can you get one fitted for under £2000?

Thanks in advance

Got one being fitted tomorrow. 35kw idealogic combi with magnetic filter and plume kit fitted by local gas man for £2250 with 10 year guarantee. Boxt and Heatable were charging £2700 for the same boiler fitted but wouldn’t actually fit because of the position the flue.
I didn’t want to spend anything and disappointed its cost so much but not a lot I can do. Hopefully you can get it done cheaper.

35kw is a powerful boiler so I assume you have 15+ radiators. It's inefficient to have too high a kwh rating boiler but seems that's what most people have fitted

We were told we needed a 24kwh one but I went for a 21kwh as we only have 11 radiators and some of these aren't used. Wish I'd gone for an 18kwh one now as it heats the radiators up very quickly which is inefficient in a condensing boiler as water is being returned to the boiler at 45c after circulation even with the boiler turned as low as I can go without lowering the output temperature below 60c (60c required for my hw tank)

An 8kw boiler is apparently sufficient for most UK homes 😳

Have you had a quote to diagnose and fix it?

No not yet I recently bought cover through OVO but I only got it on 5th March. I was going to try and hold off a bit. I genuinely didn’t know there was a problem at the time.

11 years isn't that long. We had our oil combi Worcester Bosch fitted in 2004. We do have a local chap service it every year and touch wood, the only thing that has gone wrong was the expansion tank.

Exactly, op probably an easy fix too. Certainly cheaper than a new boiler :/ 😳 (edited)

Hot water temp fluctuating is likely a faulty thermostat on the hot water tank (if it isn't a combi).

    Do you have a combi?

My Dad loves to laugh at everyone with boiler trouble; his was fitted back in the 1970's and is still running like a champion. Smug bugger!

He's saved the cost of a new boiler BUT he's paying a lot more for his heating because his boiler definitely won't be economical like a new condensing boiler.
