They'll be back soon as talks are breaking down.

If you're genuinely interested then typing something similar into Google search will return plenty of information regarding the current ongoing issues between royal mail and their workforce.

    That's slightly out of date.
More recent developments include management threatening to dissolve the letter postal arm and keep the profitable parcel part.
This would mean the government having to take over and bail them out.
This is despite management giving themselves and shareholders huge bonuses not long ago.

    Ringing any bells?

Are they off strike? I never noticed. Post taking days to arrive here. Last 2 parcels sent next day arrived on the 3rd day! I wouldn't notice if they went back on strike they are so poor. It's an institution that needs desolving

Totally agree. Outdated company, disolve this now.

Last few months royal mail have been delivering my parcels at 6pm, i dont get whats going on, they've obviously completely changed the whole company structure and increased hours or got different shift patterns as it used to be a very early start and home by dinner years ago (edited)

Our postman said he ain't striking again. He also said he was happy with the pay offer so maybe another vote?
We also go 5 to 6 days with no post and many areas have the same problem with letters. Parcels are fine. Even on a Sunday around here.
To spend a person to every door of every house 6 days a week is not viable

But, does every house of every road get a post everyday

It's become increasingly hard for the union to negotiate a deal with Simon Thompson and the board when they're only interested in running the business down like they have done. No incentives for posties to rush round getting done so many take their time and even bring work back to roll over for the next day.
It seems the company may apparently go into administration because the money has magically disappeared (back handers, etc). I mean imagine not realising your fleet of vans are mostly over 13 years old so we will give 500 million to shareholders instead of investing into the business. There is 100% a plan to get the government to step in and either renationalise for a brief time and probably go full circle and end up with bikes with owner drivers doing parcels or try and get rid of the USO agreement so it finally becomes a Mon-Fri letters only instead of 6 days a week. Being a postie I actually wouldn't mind that even if the times did change slightly too but so many posties are annoyed with how long it's gone on we'd rather see this out to the end than accept a pity deal and shoddy terms and conditions.

Do you get paid when on strike? If so, then surely the unions must be running low on funding for this.....

We all started paying +£1 for a stamp so they got what they wanted

It seems not that long ago it was 30p for a 1st class stamp & they're still losing pots of money everyday!
