Could not find anything about them here. Thinking to switch from EE to them

Anyone with some first hand experience about them?

Cheers

I moved from EE to Lebara. Mostly ok, signal reasonable. Fly in the ointment for me is WiFi Calling not supported on many phones. Pixel 5 for me. It's not an issue yet and being a 30 day contract I can easily deal with it.
I also tried RWG for the EE signal. They don't do all the frequencies that EE offer. What irritated me is if I received a call it would only ring 4 time then cut off - even with voicemail off. The caller gets a "we could not connect your call" message and the call ends. I asked RWG to increase the rings as I had voicemail off and wanted it to ring longer to not miss answering. RWG said that EE wouldn't let them change it. Lebara rings fine! No rush to answer
There's always a compromise for the budget MVNOs, gotta find what you can live with. Other family members use Voxi and rate it highly. (edited)

1p Mobile and CMLink both have full access to all of the EE Frequencies including 800MHz Band 20, WiFi calling and 4G Calling unlike RWG.

They even use the EE Voicemail service too. So should fix the other issue you had.

They’re super cheap and run on Vodafone. The actual network is good even if not quite as good as EE.

Customer service is their downfall. I personally found them to be quite rude and unhelpful. And unlike what you’ll be used to with EE it’s doesn’t seem to be UK based either.

If you’re looking for a Vodafone based network then I’d throw TalkMobile’s name into the ring. If you go via USwitch they have some good deals going right now too. TalkMobile are 100% owned by Vodafone so you’ll find you get a higher network priority as a result, and also I found their customer service to be a bit better too.

Have you not considered moving to a network that runs on EE so you aren’t worrying about signal changes?

For example may be worth looking into?

I have Voda as personal and ee as work sim.
Every where I go all over UK, I find the Vodafone signal (particularly data) better that EE 99% of the time.

No issues, 4 of us in the household are with them, decent signal and speeds. Also worked a treat abroad in Lanzarote.

One more question, I read on the webpage that data can be used for EU roaming. I assume the same is true for calling withing the country where you are?

It counts as the 100 international mins if you call local EU number.

    It's been fine

I got the cheap deal on here around January ( which has now expired)

When I first transferred my number people would text me and it would keep coming through several times

I have Lebara as does my son, we got our deals via Uswitch I think we have 8GB, 100 international minutes, unlimited mins and Texts which is £6.99 a month. Coverage via Vodafone is very good where I live and work.

Sorted this for my dad a year ago, initially on the six month deal but now rolling month by month for a fiver a month for 5GB.

He loves the 100 international minutes a month as he regularly calls Australia on it. Zero issues, so am happy to keep it going for him. Recommended (edited)

Been with them for 1 year now, really good speeds and overall experience for me. I got 21GB half-price for the first few months then £7.95pm. Been happy with them, no thought of changing

My experience from past 2 years with :Giffgaff SIM i.e. O2 is - 4G/5G coverage is poor in South West London area - Chiswick, Richmond , Brentford and Hounslow. multiple dropping connection on every Teams meeting or WhatsApp call. Smarty/Three is better than Giffgaff/O2 , better speeds (10-20MBPS) on 5G , 4G is not reliable & drops frequently.Switched to Lebara a couple of weeks back (currently on unlimited plan of £9.98/month for 3 months) piggy backs on Vodafone - 4G/5G is a bit better than O2 & Three in the same area. 5G speed is better than Three/O2 and ubiquitous 5G connectionBIG 4 -
    • EE – Born out of the merger between T-Mobile and Orange, and now owned by BT, this telecoms giant is the largest with around 32 million customers.
    • O2 – Just behind EE is O2, which is owned by Spanish telecoms company Telefonica. It has around 24 million customers.
    • Vodafone – Despite dominating the telecoms market in other countries, Vodafone is third in the UK with around 17.5 million customers.
    • Three – Owned by a Hong Kong-based conglomerate, Three is the last of the Big Four networks with approximately 9.9 million customers in the UK.
    • The above Big 4 own the slices of spectrum in UK and extend it to MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) as per below:-
      • EE: BT Mobile, Plusnet Mobile, Utility Warehouse
      • O2: Giffgaff, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Lycamobile, Virgin Mobile
      • Vodafone: Asda Mobile, Lebara, Talkmobile, Voxi
      • Three: ID Mobile, Smarty
    • Now, switch to or pick a service provider based on your experience with a particular Big 4 and its MVNOs in your area.

Ported over from Giffgaff and get a better 4G signal than I did before. Only slight niggle is the 30 minute call cut off bug (only affects certain 5G chipsets, apparently).

Last update I heard about it was from a month ago (putting a call on hold briefly is a workaround)

Lebara, Asda Mobile, TalkMobile, iD Mobile, Smarty, Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, 1p Mobile, CMLink, Utility Warehouse, Virgin Mobile, Voxi, and Popit all support WiFi calling off the top of my head. There's likely even more than that too.

There's a few devices like Google Pixel that don't like some of the MVNOs for WiFi Calling and a few other similar features. But all of the Samsung Galaxy devices seem happy enough to work with it, with exception to a few imported models from overseas.
