We are getting in touch as you are a verified Blue Light member with Asda Rewards and we wanted to let you know that from Thursday 15th June, you may notice some changes to your current benefit.

As part of the ongoing evolution of Asda Rewards, Blue Light Card holders will continue to receive 10% Cashpot benefit on all fresh products in our stores. However you may notice that other products are no longer included in the offer.

You will continue to earn Asda Pounds on non-fresh food, clothing, health and beauty, household, entertainment and homeware products in the same way as other Asda Rewards users, and you’ll still be able to make the most of all the other Asda Rewards benefits to continue building your Cashpot.

What’s included in Fresh products?
All fresh meat, fish, fruit & vegetables, food to go, ready meals, chilled & dairy, bakery and flowers.

You can find full Terms & Conditions of your Blue Light benefits here.

Thank you for being an Asda Rewards member.

Still appreciate what Asda has offered to frontliner during Covid time, same to Iceland etc 🙏 At least we still get discount for fresh food, not sure if it's still cheap but nevermind. I just like to ask, what's Morrison offering to BLC member as many commented to switch over there. I saw there do a BLC club but not sure how it works as I have not shopped much there before. They basically forced us all to sign up to Rewards accounts to track the spends more, less than 2 months ago with the wording of "your 10% discount is here to stay", and changed it with less than 24hr notice. That is a big bait and switch, and think they need trustpilot reviews to reflect this deceitfulness

Forced? I think most have had plenty in return. No good deed goes unpunished as they say.

Fair enough if they want to change their scheme, but to make the change with less than 7 hours' notice is a bit cynical and underhanded.

I'd urge everybody affected to complain to Asda about the ridiculously short notice, even if the change goes ahead eventually anyway. (edited)

Just got the email myself. See Asda losing customers. Am going back to uni to do my MSc in September and planned on using the BLC rewards to save some money and thinking it would be better when buying frozen stuff as tbh, frozen veg is just as good to me personally (I’m not a fussy person).

Looks like I’ll be going to Aldi and Lidl now. Oh well, probably cheaper anyway!

I suppose it was good while it lasted - I thought the cash pot would've allowed them to continue the offer as they keep the money anyway but now I just think it's pointless and will be returning to other supermarkets.

It's one thing removing things like entertainment, but excluding frozen food is odd. (edited)

Well that's a little disappointing removing the perks from other essential items. . I'm more inclined to shop at my local supermarket rather than Asda.

The good times are over - it now becomes just a mini-bonus for people who were going to shop there anyway as the incentive to make a special trip isn't really there anymore.

I won’t be using ASDA as my go to store anymore. I was annoyed when they linked the BLC to their app as it meant that I still had to spend my 10% discount with them instead of being able to use my savings on other essentials elsewhere. So out of my local ASDA the discount applies to 2 aisles out of 9…..what’s the point when ALDI is 30% cheaper all across the store. Bye ASDA!

When Asda were doing priority deliveries for people shielding, they never had the £40 minimum basket charge or any delivery charge for a very long time, tesco etc all carried on charging regardless, you can't please everyone.

Exactly. I think the way HUKD have framed this too is in an extremely negative way, they didnt do this when Tesco completely changed their clubcard.

Just came on to see what the HUKD massive thought. It's a bit out of the way for me to get to Asda, but not a lot. My alternative is Aldi and a top up at Morrisons. If it was me, I'd switch back but up to the wife really so will see what she decides.

Oh well. Nice while it lasted. Back to Morrisons it is. Although I've just checked and I've not had an email about it and strange BLC haven't emailed about it either. (edited)

They changed it a month or two back so you had to register your BLC with the Asda App, I've not had the email either but I'd not done that yet so it's possibly why.
