Hive Heating - how much for installation?

I bought "Hive Active Heating Kit Self Install" and am looking for an electrician to install the receiver next to my boiler. I have a combi boiler, so the kit i have is for Heating only, not Hot Water. Has anyone paid for someone to install the receiver, and if so, how much did it cost? I have been quoted £125-£150, which is higher than I thought it would be. Wanted to get an idea of what other people have been charged so I know whehter it is worth getting other quotes.

Looks like Amazon offer installation service for £100... wonder if it is worth going with that instead. However there is a review which mentions that the work overran, so they were charged an excess.

I got my regular plumber to do mine & he charged £60. After watching him do it, I could have done it myself.
paid my electrician £20. fully qualified but having said that, I use only him for my electrics so its a discounted rate I got. I'd say up to £50 for someone who knows what they are doing should acceptable.

do you have a wireless set up already which you are replacing? that will make a difference on the price. if it needs wiring from scratch then its a different price to just replacing.
I just had a British Gas engineer in to do it (as I bought the installation included Kit) - it took about an hour...
The price difference between the self install and professional fit was £40 last week.

I have a wireless thermostat (connects back to a box near the hot water tank). Does that make installing a Hive unit easier?

Very easy. A case of switching over the wires as per the instructions. I say easy I got my electrician to do it. But a lot of people have done it themselves.

But if you pay someone, it's a 10 minute job, if that.

There's the receiver which wires up to the boiler. The hub which connects to the router and the thermostat which you can either attach to a wall on keep mobile

Take a picture of how the wires are in the current receiver. And then unscrew the hive receiver and its self explanatory of what goes where. Though it might be useful if you have a helper
