Are streetwise ratchet set from euro carports good? It’s only £10 and seems to fit the bill or I was thinking the bahco sl25 ratchet set for £20. Really like the 174parts Halfords set posted on hukd for ~170 but it’s a bit expensive for me now.

Want to replace a battery on my mk6 golf tdi and saw that it would be wiser for me to get a good battery yausa from Halfords and do it myself. Any advice would be appreciated.

Personally, I always recommend paying a little more for a good brand as a decent socket set will last you literally a lifetime.

Bahco is good, but outside your stated budget, so I would go for Halfords for £25

You need a 3/8 set - 1/4 is too small and wimpy for automotive work.

I stick to six-point hex socket. 12 point can round off nuts if you give it some grunt. Depends what your doing

Yeah you are right. Bought the one suggested without looking properly at the socket. Did the job but did feel loose and shifted when using it. Might buy hex bits for it when i need to or change for a different set
