The service record last year states that the rear tyres are starting to perish outer side walls.
I am guessing it will be cheaper to get new tyres fitted at a tyre place than to pay the garage to replace the tyres in the next service?
We do 1500 miles a year, so wonder if we will need to replace the back tyres to pass the MOT coming up next month.

But probably best to amble over to your car, bend down and look at the markings on the semi-perished sidewall.
Any markings hard-wearing enough to withstand the stated sustained kerb-bashing will state the actual size and manufacturer and type. You can then choose to re-run the searches to match the existing size + manufacturer, or not. (edited)
You're probably best taking it right away to a tyre shop and ensuring its not a danger to yourself and more importantly others. There shouldn't even be a discussion on if it'll pass/scrape through an MOT, tyres with deterioration can blow. Nobody here can advise you on what will pass or not but if you have that doubt now in your head why are you still driving it and not got it checked out?
the tyres aren't dangerous as they wouldn't have passed the MOT if they were and we haven't used the car much since last february when the MOT was done.
The mot guy will pass it, fail it or issue an advisory....either way you'll have a few days to get em swapped if needed.
I was just in exactly the same boat, I looked into various online offers posted here and other services (halfords etc) then asked the garage for their price, they told me, it was cheaper than all the above so I requested prior to the service/MOT to include those to be done at the same time, to ensure they had stock. job done.
