The MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifier has been specially designed for your household needs. Four years ago, we asked thousands of customers what they liked and what they disliked about their Meaco dehumidifier, this feedback created the MeacoDry Arete One 25L: the quietest, most efficient combined dehumidifier and air purifier ever made.

Whisper Quiet – Our quietest large dehumidifier yet. In fact, at only 40dB, it is more than twice as quiet as the industry standard.

We know how important the noise level of a dehumidifier is to our customers and for that reason we have spent the last two years making Arete the quietest large dehumidifier on the market. At just 42dB(A) on the highest fan speed, this dehumidifier is extremely quiet.

Optimized for the British Climate – Programmed for your life and the British weather.

The performance of this dehumidifier has been developed around the British climate and the British user. Arete extracts water most efficiently between 10°C and 20°C, the temperatures at which you need it most. Standard dehumidifiers are created to work most efficiently at 27°C, way above the average temperature of a British household.

Removes Condensation – Efficiently prevents condensation and mould by capturing moisture in a 4.8 litre water tank.

Arete extracts water into an extra-large, 4.8 litre, tank ensuring you wake up to condensation free windows each morning. The easy-to-use tank has a cover and carry handle with the option to pour the water away from both the left and right side, making life simple.

Purer Than Ever – Our H13 HEPA filter removes 99.95% of particles from the air for year-round air purification.

Perfect for customers who suffer with allergies, the medical grade H13 HEPA filter cleans the air in your home, removing smells and VOCs. This feature can be used on its own in the summer months when dehumidification is not required.

Simples Controls – Smooth one-touch controls based on feedback from thousands of customers.

There are no complicated controls. Arete has been designed so it is easy to use for everyone. One press of a smart humidity button is all you need to set up your dehumidifier and walk away. Arete will do everything else for you: Arete will boost the fan speed if the humidity level rises and switch to a quieter mode when the target humidity has almost been reached. There is also a Child Lock to stop small fingers from interfering!

Low Running Costs – Efficiently removes moisture from the air at a lower cost than any other Meaco dehumidifier.

The low running costs makes Arete very energy efficient and affordable to run all the time, meaning your house will feel the maximum benefit of having a dehumidifier.

Dries Laundry – Dries your clothes faster, quieter, and more cheaply than any other Meaco dehumidifier.

Arete dries your laundry quickly and efficiently whilst monitoring its energy consumption, turning the compressor off when the relative humidity reaches 35%rh to save power. The powerful fan will continue to run to ensure your clothes are dry.

Sleek and Unobtrusive – Our unique side air intake lets the unit sit discreetly against the wall.

You asked for a dehumidifier that can be pushed against a wall to save space on their hallway or landing, Arete can do exactly that.

Extended Guarantee

This Dehumidifier & Air Purifier comes with an extended 5 year guarantee.

Got one just now, really good for drying clothes in the cold months. I borrowed one from a friend when I painted a room a couple weeks ago and being in the house, I used it for drying my clothes, I was impressed and the borrowed tool is a Challenge branded one. That's what made me buy my own. Hope this comment helps.

Which version did you get 25 or 20l? And how long does it take to dry clothes next to a clothes horse? Thanks

It’s good but “whisper quiet” is a bit of a lie. Noisy as anything

I will start off by stating that I do not know how accurate this decibel meter on the iPhone is, but I was curious and thought I would share. Both of these tests are on carpet.

This is the reading I get stood about 5 feet away from it on laundry mode (the most intense setting).
    49234106-dFzRJ.jpg
The reading I get on night mode (the quietest setting):
    49234106-WaAS6.jpg

I don’t know the test conditions that Meaco used, but if stood on say the other side of a room I would imagine that their 42dB claim could be achieved under ideal test conditions. Apparently 48dB is the volume of a library or bird calls according to this app. I’m not saying it’s quiet, but I suspect it is among the quieter dehumidifiers out there.

    The full quote is this:
“Whisper Quiet – Our quietest large dehumidifier yet. In fact, at only 40dB, it is more than twice as quiet as the industry standard.

We know how important the noise level of a dehumidifier is to our customers and for that reason we have spent the last two years making Arete the quietest large dehumidifier on the market. At just 42dB(A) on the highest fan speed, this dehumidifier is extremely quiet.”

If they had removed “whisper quiet” from that quote, I think a lot of the criticism they have received concerning noise would have have been avoided. I highly suspect it is indeed “the quietest large dehumidifier on the market.”

I've taken the plunge and ordered, I can sense a mould issue incoming in one of my rooms due to so much condensation and its too cold to keep the window open. I hear people have said you can get it for cheaper in the summer. But needs must!

I've always been on the fence with these, since I live in a 2 bed flat and two bathrooms, which have no windows.
I monitor the humidity within the bathrooms and they sit between 40%-55% during summer, then 55%-68% during winter/rainy days.
The humidity in the other rooms are almost always under <60%.

Would you say I would need a dehumidifier?
There are no signs of mould.

    I would say not really.
If you got no mould condensation issues.
Humidity ideal levels are 55% ISH obviously the device may not be 100% accurate.
But if your levels were around 80% then I would say you need one

I got one two weeks ago, only switch it on for 4 hrs now, much improved air quality and humidity in bedroom (with en suite) down from 70% to 55%, paid the same (edited)

I got the 12L version last week from Argos and was very impressed with how well it dried out the washing in our utility room. Far cheaper than using the tumble dryer

What’s the lowest price this one has gotten to previously? Crazy to see comments that the 20l was £140 at the start of the year and now it’s around £250~

Currently back in stock, I just bought one

How much does placement affect things? I want to keep it downstairs in the hall, but I can see this being useful next to the shower and the kitchen. Clearly moisture spreads/diffuses but I don't know how quickly (edited)

I got mine delivered yesterday and they said it's best to place it in a hall way or open area and leave doors open (which is a bit counterintuitive in cold Winter) and it will do its job - this one is apparently good for a 5-bedroom house.

It also says if there's a specific room with issues you can put it in that room and close the door.
