Someone at Evri stole my Boombox :(

I bought a JBL Boombox 2 from Leap2c last Friday.

Saturday: Evri claimed they attempted to deliver it.

That was a LIE. I was in all day looking out the window every time a car drove past!

Monday: nothing happened, so I "talked" to the chatbot

Wednesday: received email (after using chatbot) the parcel then moved around a few times. Parcel was at depot.

Thursday: item delivered.

The box had been opened and re-sealed. When I opened it I found 2 parcels belonging to 2 different people!

The boombox was missing

(I tried adding pics to this post - too big. I'll add them below)

I've contacted Leap2c. to keep it short, they're sending the replacement, once again via Evri. I asked them to use another courier, but they ONLY use Evri. I even suggested they use an external box to prevent this happening again, but alas no. In their defence they did say that was a good idea, but it was too late as the replacement had already been sent.

My main concern now is those 2 parcels that are now in my possesion that don't belong to me!

What do I do with them?

You definitely wouldn’t have any joy trying to communicate with Evri, so no chance getting them to redeliver the parcels. They struggle delivering them directly from the retailers.

The intended customers will either get a refund or a replacement from the retailers they used. So if anything you’d be helping Evri more than the affected customers.

If you want to have a clear conscience and also help someone, just open and donate the items to charity

Do you know they were sent by retailers and that both the sender and intentioned recipients won't lose out? No.

It's an assumption, and you should know the phrase about them (edited)

keep them, and the people who were supposed to get them, will just do what you did, and tell the company, they didn’t arrive

It doesn't seem right though. I'm 44 years old, my generation would rather help return stuff to its rightful owner

Yay! My item arrived. It seems lessons have been learned by the seller. The delivery note was stuck over the front of the box to prevent obvious tampering.

I checked the box from the original shipment, and found that the thief forgot to steal the charger!

Here's my plan. I will re-deliver those parcels that I have, (with my own money) and then sell that charger to fund it.

The charger is listed at £39.99 on the JBL website. Third party versions are £23 on Amazon.

Having worked in the delivery industry for the last 2 decades its common practice for us to help ourselves to the good stuff, most uninsured items are only covered up to £25 so if i see something worth more than that i just acidentally drop it off the back of my truck and 'lose' it, sure they'll dock me the 25 quid to give the customer but i just see it as salary sacrifce and the sale of the goods later is my pension pot, in fact i try to do this a much as possible so i dont even have to pay tax at the end of the month, you should see all the ps5's ive had for 25 notes

The replacement is on the way: 49683129-66me8.jpg
    Place your bets.

Will it arrive tomorrow? Will they falsly claim they attempted delivery when someone WAS at home? Will it then then spend the best part of a week in a warehouse before moving again? Will it be stolen?

I went to pick up an Amazon order today at a locker location. It was an RFID blocking card for my wallet.

What I got was a box of flyers for a local baby clothes company's website.

I reached out to them on Facebook and found out that they're based in a shopping centre quite near me so I've arranged to go and drop them off tomorrow.

Thing is, she told me that she'd ordered these flyers to be delivered to her place of work via Evri and had no idea how they ended up in an Amazon locker with my collection code

Hope you get it this time! Evri are terrible to get a hold of, just a stupid chatbot, asked a question on their facebook but it was ignored. I haven't had much trouble with deliveries with Evri, my local courier seems decent enough at least. I did get what I think was scammed selling a monitor on eBay, used Evri and they don't insure monitors - it got there but buyer posted a picture of it with a multi coloured screen, broken in other words. It was in it's original box with polystyrene padding, maybe it happened in transit or maybe he had another of the same brand monitor that was broken and just bought mine to scam me, lost out on nearly £100. They don't insure a lot of things so won't risk it on uninsured items again.

Mmmm, not sure why you would risk sending a £100 monitor uninsured? Surely you're asking for trouble

Alway vidio the opening of the parcel and courier if possible as i have had 2 items stolen with amazon, a laptop and and soundbar. Having the video made a difference when complaining. i would just take the evri parcel you have to a local drop shop and get them to hand to the next collector

I would be tempted to contact a local newspaper, they might possibly care to do a story about evri, and deliver the two stolen parcels yours was substituted with so that they can interview their intended recipients too.

Other than that, you could identify the senders since they still own the parcels and inform them that their courier has stolen them and used them to pack out the box delivered to you, so that they can either make evri collect them from you, or pay them compensation. (edited)

Lessons clearly learned by the seller.

Glad you got your replacement delivered. The retailer should really know better than advertise the goods given how common thefts have become... and it's not just Evri.

Update - I couldn't return the parcels as planned last week - the Weather had other ideas!

Monday - I overslept, then popped out briefly, when I returned I found this: 49770597-bcxFV.jpg
Tuesday: My local Evri delivery guy knocked on my door expecting a return. I was as confused as he was, considering I have had no contact with evri, and had NOT arranged a return! He was the same guy that delivered both packages previously.

We both scratched our heads, then I showed him the 2 parcels that I still have. He tried scanning them, several times, but Evri Computer said no!

Some mumbling (by both of us, considering neither of us had arranged anything!) later he said he couldn't take them because there's no return label!

Today (Wednesday): I was half expecting someone to turn up. No-one did.

What an absoulte farce! It's almost like Evri know what they did, but don't want to admit liability.

Maybe they think people don't care?

    I DO CARE.

I'll update this thread with any future developments. (edited)

Quick update - and more lies from Evri!

Evri have informed the seller that they collected the parcels I still have in my possesion, the seller has asked for confirmation.

    49828172-zd70B.jpg
    I still have BOTH PARCELS!

The local Evri driver came to collect a customer return (that I hadn't even arrranged) I showed him both parcels, which he scanned several times, but couldn't return because there were no return labels.

This is no slight on the seller. They went above and beyond - they even sent out a replacement within a couple of hours of my original complaint, which arrived less than 24 hours later.

Kudos to them, but (insert swerwordhere) to Evri.

Evri are clearly trying to cover this up.

I'll keep you updated on further developments. (edited)
