is it worth adding more ram to Aspire-5-a515-45

Posted 26th Jun 2023
Aspire-5-a515-45 Laptop

4gb ddr4 soldered + 4gb ddr4 dual channel .... current setup
vs
4gb ddr4 soldered + 16gb ddr4 (guess single channel)

would there be a big difference not running dual channel or not

using for online games and online work
Many thanks

    Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM
    DDR4
    Density 16GB
    Module type SODIMM
    DIMM type Unbuffered
    Voltage 1.2V
    Module quantity 1
    Speed & timing
    Speed DDR4-3200
    CAS latency 22
    Extended timings 22-22-22

On their website after checking, the max ram capacity is 20gb, 4gb ddr onboard + 16gb ddr4 as above

Don't know the onboard memory spec only it's ddr4
Unless anyone knows of a software program can give more information about it (edited)

I doubt you’d notice the difference in real world use but before you do this have you checked to see if RAM is the limiter?

    I would go 4 + 16.
Do you know what is the existing RAM speed and CL?
RAM is quite cheap now. (edited)
