I have a 7th generation iPad, around 2021, got it mainly for home schooling over COVID.
Unfortunately it's totally dead, black screen. Tried different apple chargers, did the restore etc, tried to find it on iTunes, basically did everything that came up on Google, but no luck. Apple want a pre payment of £315 to look at it.
Any ideas folks?

but usually if its the cpu you can get the ipad into restore mode and the "Plug in cable" screen comes up but then you cant get any further.. so theres an outside chance its a dead battery. unless you know someone willing to look at it for free youre probably going to be throwing money at it and might be best to just sell it as spares or repairs and move on..
definitely dont pay £315 to apple... you can get a new one for that lol.
Then it's time to call it a day and get a new one
