Permanently opt out of "install the app" nag screen?

Posted 31st Mar 2023
Anyone know if there's a setting, or cookie I can set to permanently disable this hukd nag screen?

I'm *never* going to use the app, and hate with a passion this drive by every commercial website to push apps in place of general purpose website design that adapts well to phone screen sizes.

Most of the time such apps offer no capability beyond what's possible in html5, and just act as bespoke html renderers, hogging device resources & denying all of the quality of life features provided by your regular browser. (Auto-fill, password manager, cashback tracking etc)

In almost all cases they're a complete waste of resources better spent on the website.

    100% agree.

They won't do it because advertising data > user experience

Because it's not just once for the site, it's every time you click a deal link etc.

Maybe not every time, but more than once for sure (edited)

Is there an android version to achieve the same thing?

I don't think there is, but I'd like to be corrected
