TOTUM Card in the Co-Op

The last couple of times I have used my TOTUM card in the Co-Op to get 10% off, an assistant has had to verify it at the self service till. Is this a new thing?

    Maybe it’s my store. Which way round does the strip go, inwards?

    If I remember correctly, I usually scan it so the gold strip at the top is inwards, so the front of the card is facing you
