Just got this for £379 off O2. I ordered yesterday and it arrived today but am returning it tomorrow. I'm fairly tech savvy, am a software architect and have been on a OG pixel for a while. I thought this would be a good deal as I'd be blown away by it, but there's just too much faff with this compared to a pixel and it's just not that much better for the things I care about. The phone is fast but the battery is only OK, and the original pixel camera captures more details compared. Granted this has wider FOV and more options, but the GCam AI can do that automatically anyway. This does handle COD mobile on high but with only high FPS rather than the highest settings. Suppose this is at 1440 though. But it also gets super hot when doing so. I also feel the curved screen is a pain in the ass, but if you're into loads of gestures rather than taps then you'll love it. Thefingerprint reader is not as snappy as im used to from the pixel and there is no way to swipe down on the phone to bring down the notifications I've fou d yet. The most annoying bit is the software bloat and constant Samsung nonsense it installs (regardless of you selecting no!) Its just too invasive and sub par. Whilst I could just delete it all, I just hate Bixby and he's bloody all over the place. I'd rather just have Google track the hell out of me in return for a super seemless experience.

superleeds27

All OOS now. Got a feeling more will pop up again though.

phatbhoy

Now if only there was a green and white one!

Mooncalf

After the site booting me out of the checkout process 3 times, and each time saying the single phone they had in stock was now out of stock, I finally managed to get the one prism white version (colour i really wanted!) that popped up this morning <3 Thanks so much for posting!

Yep vodaphone and virgin also bad as three. A suggestion. When I realised I had network problems I googled comments about masts/network reception in my local area. It helped me find out who works/won't work. I liked GG and only moved to Sky because of way better deals. I think GG are getting closer to sky, but can't top the free streaming of TV you get if you have sky tv. Both companies use 02 network so search for 02 complaints in your area.

Aquacadabra

Yea, I think I'm moving back to Giffgaff, as my work phone is Vodafone ... And I've not had much luck with them either.

SmokeyNegroni

Yep, three attracts people with the latest devices but has terrible service and does not care if its signal is weak. I've used them around the UK and they have problems in all of them. I have no idea how they get away with their claims about connectivity. I will never use them again.

Aquacadabra

Three are absolutely rubbish though while moving, or indoors.

lespaul

Smarty is terrible, dropped calls, loss of signal resulting in missed calls, bouncing between 3G and 4g.....absolute pants, my town was down as strong signal area. I’d read it before I joined and I thought ah it’ll be ok for me.....it really is not, I’ll be leaving soon and never looking back!

I use Accubattery & galaxy LAbs, assuming you don't want to root your phone. SystemPanel (System2) is also useful for some battery tracking. This article may help: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/google-assistant-read-articles-aloud/ CEX - never had a problem with them, most phones & tech you buy have 2 years warranty and they don't make a fuss if you take anything back. catavento

Yeah, I bought my XZ2 proper for £99 and by today's standards that feels compact anyway.

plewis00

Not bad but the full-size XZ2 has been down to £99 recently so unless you really need something small it’s hard to justify twice the price. Also no wireless charging and it’s a pretty tubby phone, it certainly feels chunky compared to past Compact efforts.

If it comes with all accessories then the headphone adaptor plugs into the charging port. If not then they are a fiver on ebay. That is if you still use headphones with cables.

My mum's got this phone (and refuses to upgrade from it). gsmarena page here It's got a decent camera (obviously not Huawei-quality) and stereo speakers, though it does get a bit hot in use. Ye olde MicroSD and 3.5mm headphone jack capability, which I like. Must have decent battery management, as mum's never moaned about its battery. Edit: I should also say Giffgaff's service was excellent. I refused delivery of the Huawei P10 the other day (mum didn't want it), messaged an Agent and my refund was processed within a day.

This is a great phone! I got this exact one from giff gaff to replace a moto g6 plus and it is better in every single way. The camera is amazing and i love being able to take photos with night mode. It's a dual sim too which comes in handy. Mine was definitely in "like new" condition, infact it was brand new in my opinion, still had the original plastic on the back of it, not a single mark either. However it comes with no box and just a charging cable. I got it as a phone loan via giff gaff with ratesetter, so under £12 a month with an upfront payment of £25, i'm more than happy with this phone and this isn't the first time i've applied for a phone loan with giff gaff which i personally have no issues with, so long as you can afford to pay back and are happy paying a slightly increased price on the phone for being able to do so it's an affordable way to get a phone you can't afford to buy outright. You can also apply for a second phone once you've paid the first 6 months of the original off, or at least that was the case with me. The honor view 20 is a great phone in my opinion. Love it.
