Are disks PC games sold nowadays Bluray or DVD format?

Posted 2nd Jul 2023
I was starting to look for some modern PC games for my Legion laptop and was interested mainly to physical discs,at least until I decide to subscribe for a fibre at home, since for now I only use 5g phone plugged to asus router via USB as the home internet. On peak speeds with Vodafone and EE I'm around 120mbit in download but probably around half on average during the day. So I don't know if buying digital games which might weight like 100gb to download would be doable..I mean,it depends on congestion and time available and patience..
So are most games for PC sold as digital copies as well and If so are DVD or Bluray?I don't have a Bluray external player and wouldn't like to buy that for playing games...I got an external DVD one however.
Please give me some advise and hints as well, thanks

No they are all codes. Nobody has a player these days. PC's don't have players.

Also you should be fine with that speed to download a game. For most of the major modern games you would be looking at 50-100gb. (edited)

So basically no difference in buying a physical copy that contains just a code or downloading it straight away from Steam and similar others,if I understood correctly

Download the Steam and Epic games clients, most games are available via those 2.
