Cheap Xiaomi Mi Box & Fire Stick 4K Scam Warning

Was looking to get a mi box or a fire stick and when on eBay I noticed cheap ones under £20. It didn't seem right since the sellers of these items had very little feedback but I gave one a go thinking there would be no harm since I was protected by eBay's money back guarantee.

The day after I got an email from eBay saying: "We're writing to let you know that we've removed an item you recently won due to concerns with the seller's account." After contacting eBay I got a refund.

After looking more into it, I came across this thread: community.ebay.com/t5/…245

It explains that they put these listings up for the purpose of stealing customer data, and it makes sense and this isn't just with fire stick and mi boxes, as the saying goes "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is".

Wanted people who might not this, to be wary of this as even now I see these listings with a lot of people from the UK buying them. You will get your money back, but I doubt you will want your information out there.

If you see these kind of listings (ridiculously cheap items with sellers who have very little feedback or odd activity), report them to eBay, so that they may remove these listings before more people buy them.

Unfortunately, there will always be people who are at risk of being scammed as there will always be scammers with no moral conscience.
The inexperienced, the naive, the gullible, the trusting, the vulnerable.

...and the self-confessed knowledgeable who still bizarrely choose to expose themselves to potential abuse.
