Correndon airlines not paying flight compensation

Posted 26th Apr 2023
Flew back in July last year. Flight was delayed many hours with no update or vouchers for refreshments.
They confirmed last September that we were due 400 Euros each & said it was being transferred to the relevant payment department.
Still not paid. I have copied the msg received today… I do not want flight credit. Any advise where to go with this? Thanks

“We are aware that you have been waiting for a long time for the compensation you are entitled to, which we confirmed long ago. We thank you for your understanding and patience. We would like to state that we will have to hold cash payments a little longer due to the intensity. However, we do not want to keep you waiting any longer; we have an offer for you to use your entitlement for your next vacations or flights.
If you wish, we can immediately send you a link to a Voucher to be used on our website for the amount provided.
Your voucher can also be used on our website for extra services such as new flight tickets, baggage and meals. Your coupon will be valid for 4 years from the moment you accept.”

I’ve used resolver twice, and twice they got the job done

Start a claim with them through the small claims court. I'm sure they'll pay up fairly quickly then

They have no UK based office so a small claims judgement will be complicated to enforce. Filing a complaint with the CAA will likely get their attention more as they have powers to keep planes on the ground if compensation isn't paid.

I had/have a similar issue with Eurowings Discovery, the 'Ryanair wing' of Lufthansa.. They admitted liability but invented problems paying the money (1200Euro!) claiming my correct bank details were in fact incorrect. Similarly to Correndon they are not on the Resolver lists unfortunately. Try Twitter or FB - I got a response quickly from FB and I'm hoping it is in the process of being sorted as we speak (flight in question 4th Aug 2023). You can also use caa.co.uk/pas…lp/ Looks like you'll need to send a formal complaint of some kind whatever. You can get a sample letter from the resolver site. Good luck

Meant to add - you have up to 2 years so no panic.

If it all goes bad then you can always try one of the third party specialist sites. Big downside is they charge - up to 40% (edited)

    I’m also owed 1200 Euros!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I see they do have a Facebook account so will try messaging them on there first.

    Thanks again (edited)

I have been in this situation since Dec 2022 but finally they paid this April 2023 after going through too many emails, complain.
I used resolver first but they ignored to email back.
Next I did direct complain with them, after awhile they offered my voucher for next flight,of which I decline the offer, I requested only cash payment, then they ignored me to even reply.
Next I went on twitter page complain to them, they replied saying someone will deal with my case so Dm details.
And then end of march contacted CAA with my complaint.
I sent CAA reply to Ceo through twitter and email.
On 13th April payment received into my bank.
They want you to give up. Never.

Do not accept a voucher under any circumstances.

Send them an email stating you will be logging a case in the small claims court in due course, then put the address of your local court just for effect, and you would like details of their legal team for one of the forms.

Either they will expedite the payment to you or provide the required details in which case, log the claim. (edited)

Thought I’d update you all in case anyone else is in a similar position.

I registered a complaint with the CAA as Correndon didn’t bother replying to Facebook/emails on recommendation.

Within a few days of the CAA contacting them the money owed was in my account! So the CAA is obviously the way to go.

Thanks for all the advise peeps (edited)

Thanks for all your advise everyone. I have messaged them on fb. If no joy I will look into taking them to the small claims court. Haven’t a clue where to start and health is not great at the moment but I’m determined not to let this go. I am a hukd-er after all!

May be worth trying CAA first. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Start a claim as the other poster says , they might pay up when they realise you are serious
