How many rides at Alton Towers on busy day?

Posted 26th May 2023
Planning a visit to Alton Towers end of July (never been).

I fully expect it to be busy, but wondering even on a busy day, how many rides you could get on?

Is it worth buying fastpass?

Thanks

That sticks a lot of cost onto a visit if you want to do a lot of rides

Yes, it will be for 4 or possibly 5 of us. Going to amount to a lot.

fast pass is worth it but you will still have to wait to get onto some rides, last August the most popular rides there was around 30 minute wait even with fast pass.

2 to 3 hour without the fast pass on the main rides 30 mins to an hour with fast pass

Wow..so you could end up only managing 4-5 rides the whole day with no fast pass (edited)

When we went on the new ride, forget it’s name, the wooden rollercoaster thing, queue was approximately 3 hours. Smiler about 2 hours. Bring a power bank to charge your phone as there’s literally nothing else to do while queuing.

Max 4, maybe 5 rides while you’re there without the fast pass.

    Horrible wait times!!!
been going religiously for the last few yrs but won’t bother now.
2 hours wait time  for a 2 min ride!
I tend to go when opening times later so not a wasted day get fast track
