iPhone charging port loose - suggestions please

Posted 19th Feb 2023
My iPhone charging port is loose. Disconnects often unless kept in certain position or I have to switch off the iPhone & then charge.

Tried few solutions from browsing, but nothing works yet. Please suggest any worked solution 🙏

( Already been to Apple store, they suggested to buy new a iPhone - not a surprise from them. )

Not iPhone but on my android Ive sorted two out that simply had bust and crud in the port , get a toothpick snap it so it's longer and thinner then just try and see

This also worked for me when my charging / headphone jacks were not working correctly. Pocket dust that had made its way in there over the years had been compacted by plugging in the cables and built up until the connection wasn't being made well. Clearing it out with a toothpick completely resolved the problem.

I would try at a few local repair shops, Apple is known for their "geniuses" upselling new products in this way

I had similar issues, port loose intermittent charging a few month back. Found a YouTube video that used a small piece of insulation tape in the port. As the connections are on the bottom, you stick to upper part of the charging port, and fold it over the edge, it's a bit stiff but no issues with charging now.

You could try replacing it yourself but only if you’re confident and have the equipment as it’s not easy and most of these smaller shops won’t be interested as they really only replace large items and don’t go down to component level.

Try and get a morphie battery back up case I got one for iPhone 7 for £10 a few years ago. Phone clips into the case using lightning connector then when you charge its a micro USB might work

there may be some fluff in the charing port. Turn off and use a very small pin and scratch out the fluff right at the back, gently. Avoid the top and bottom terminals.
They may also be caked in dirt but you can clean gently with paper. U can buy cleaning wipes for terminals but these are specialist. I found paper works fine. Be gentle though.
