You should be okay if it says 'order taken', hopefully it goes to Packing rather than Awaiting Stock

Looks good. I've ordered, but whilst it says 'in stock' on the web page, it actually shows as OOS on the order and after processing, 'order taken'... Also I note that one person received the pink version! [says pink in the detailed description] We'll see............. EDIT The link now says £68.97 :(

Isn't this the one that all the reviews said was great for competitive gaming but not so great with music and atmosphere? Or was that the version 1?

Great price! I paid a little more than the £39.99 for my set and I’ve been impressed with the quality of the sound and the manufacture of the headset itself. VOTED HOT!

It might just be I'm biased towards the Fatal1ty headset because it's cheaper :P But yeah, it really is personal opinion, as it might just be that I'm not very good at being able to tell the difference between "good" sound quality and "very good" sound quality, which might be the case when comparing both headsets.

Requiem

Wow I'm suprised at that tbh :) I've gone through two Creative Fatal1tys, the mic on the first one gave up after a couple of weeks, so was sent a replacement by Dell after faffing around with CS (this was back when they were on offer for £15), and the second one lasted around 3 months before the flimsy wires started to break around the volume control. Had to resort to sellotaping it up and it lasted just under a year. Despite the problems I had, I did actually like the fatal1ty (another one of those comfy hug-your-head headsets with decent sound quality!), but personally I believe the sound, mic and construction quality are all far superior on the 5H. But hey, each to their own!

Good price for something that is normally £65. I've had this, and in all honesty, I prefer the Creative Fatal1ty headset, which is cheaper but higher quality imo, contructed better with similar sound quality and lasts longer. Difference is of course this is a USB headset, so will be a hot deal for e.g. "pro gamers" who want the benefit of being able to plug into any machine and get the same quality sound (once drivers installed) rather than relying on random PC's to have good sound cards.

Get if from Currys, use voucher code COMP5, price drops to £455.97! And, possibly, 3% Quidco makes it £442.29 after cashback... :santa: Voucher expires 16/12/09.

Thanks chums! If this is the best available for this money, I'm in. The recommendations are the most important thing for me. Same model & price available from Currys? > Currys link

It seems well built and runs very cool and quiet even with the CPU on 100% load. If you want a relatively light laptop with excellent battery life and modest performance then it’s certainly a strong contender.

luke997

Excellent, even better now  Yes you do :-D Been using for a couple weeks and it's just great, can't recommend enough Build quality much better than Dell Inspiron, Vostro or Studio (got them all) - the rest have been covered before.

Ya, there is a dial to adjust volume and a 3-stage switch to adjust mic sensitivity.

esq3585

Can you adjust the voice and sound volume seperately on these?

The 5H 2V is a headset with retractable microphone. It also can be dismantled into 3 separate pieces for easy transportation.
