You're basing this reasoning on what we already know, we don't know what we don't know. We are used to the 4 dimensions that we exist in, which are 3 dimensions + time. Stephen Hawking theorised many more dimensions, if there are aliens they could exist in dimensions beyond us. So imagine you exist in a 2D world, you have no concept of the 3D world we live in, a being that exists in dimensions outside of ours will be radically different, so no not necessarily true that aliens need hands, in fact many species on this planet do not have hands and intelligent species such as Dolphins and Pigs don't. If you're a multi dimensional being which is beyond our understanding and beyond any methods we have to analyse those dimensions and exist in them, I could imagine you don't even need biology or hands. Anyway this is all conjecture, imagination, we simply do not have the answers, call them a flight of fancy if you will. Simulation theory is possible, so is the thought experiment Robo's Basilisk. This video does a reasonable job in explaining the vastness of the Universe, it's so big that the transmissions from our planet may never reach any other intelligent life out there if it exists whilst our planet exists, meaning the planet Earth could cease to exist before our transmissions reach other life > The warning in this following video is for good reason, once you have the knowledge shown in the video, you cannot unknow this knowledge, you are intrinsically locked in, the only thing is whether you believe it or not > This article below then explains that even though you may not believe it, you can't disprove it via logic. If you don't want to mindf^&k yourself then don't watch the video above :) ^ > https://slate.com/technology/2014/07/rokos-basilisk-the-most-terrifying-thought-experiment-of-all-time.html
Maybe not all aliens have apes like DNA but many are probably similar, universe is probably very diverse Did you know the chances of a doppelganger on Earth is 1 in 135 and I'm not talking about twins there's a chance there's someone who looks identical to you on this planet There's a many forms of life and languages on our own planet there's a chance theres a good chance say an advanced civilization form another solar system has identical DNA and speaks a familiar language to one of our planets, aliens probably have tons of languages, races, animals/species too, example maybe they have monkeys but don't have humans and they may not have English but maybe speak Ancient Greek or Hebrew, to our knowledge All Life requires Water, Intelligent life requires a Brain, Nervous system, Organs. My dog for example looks nothing like me but we both drink, eat, sleep, think, feel, smell, see, we both have lungs, hearts, brains, stomachs, I bet if my dog could speak Human he would act like a child since he's not a robot, it's got his personality and feelings Whatever intelligent life is out there they'll need to be a species with actually hands to grip things since basically only us and monkeys can actually grip things, a dog or cat for example couldn't hold a hammer no matter how intelligent Btw I edited by previous comment before you commented and added a bit but I see you replied to it before edit Were most likely not base reality either. Not my words, Elon Musk and other scientists say this, Look up Simulation Theory Also think about this, Youre in a Small Room in your house, Your House is Earth, Your street is the Solar system, your town is the milky way, your country is the universe but your country is only a small island called England what barely covers Earth surface but to you it feels massive to you but nothing compared to earth and the earth is nothing compared to the universe. And there is maybe, not definitely beyond our universe what we have no knowledge about Enjoy the existinal crisis (:I Bit how Men in Black Ending gave me one
I agree due to the size of the Universe the likelyhood of aliens is respectively high, that doesn't mean any aliens are in contact with us. The radiosphere from the planet Earth has only extended some 160-200 light years across, that's the limit radio transmissions have extended out from this planet since the first transmissions, they have reached absolutely nowhere significant. Newtonian physics has been proved wrong? That's news to pretty much all respected Physics scientists. First of all there have to be aliens, there could be, next they would have to be in contact with us, next you're just guessing they would know what biology even is. They may not have Cancer or understand Cancer because they might well be based on a totally and completely different biology to humans, so even suggesting they may or may not have Cancer on their planet is absurd and irrational. I definitely agree in terms of human biology we are nowhere near, just nowhere near understanding a percentage of our human biology, it is utterly mind bogglingly complex. Rosehip neurons and the Endorestiform nucleus were only discovered in the human brain in 2018. The 18kDa TSPO protein's crystalline structure was only 3D modelled in the last 10 years > https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2911597/ COVID Science has made breakthroughs in protein folding > https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03348-4 The issue for people is that the media say Serotonin is for happiness and Dopamine is for reward for example, this doesn't take in to account the vast differences these catecholamines have in different brain regions and the huge complexity of their receptor systems. Absolutely in our lifetimes human biology with not be understood. In terms of you not understanding the rest of what I said, I made reference to Einstein and that Science has given proof to his theories of Gravitational Waves and many more of his theories have proof. The main things in terms of the Universe to understand are Dark Matter and Dark Energy and they simply are not understood so we give them those vague names, because they are beyond our current knowledge.
I never said they had technology or similar biology to humans I said humans advanced enough can cure cancer and aliens may have the knowledge of how cells, bacteria, disease works, even if they don't have cancer on their planet they may have a blueprint to help us or the tech to help us if they're advanced enough to travel the universe at warp speed they would have no problems with diseases, Vaccines get faster and faster every time to produce since it's usually a blueprint they can use since they usually act the same, I bet one day, probably not in our lifetime either humans or a computer will have enough knowledge to cure a new disease within a day, not in our lifetime but if we're still around say 10,000 years from now disease and illnesses will be cured easily, that's if we don't nuke ourselves Also Newton? He was proved wrong when Einsteins theory made more sense also of course there's other life there in the universe, I highly doubt within our Solar System unless that life is small and not intelligent like an ant but definitely in our universe, there's 100s of billions of other solar systems with at least 1 planet When you put earths size next to the whole universe it's literally nothing, a speck of dust You probably grew up with the mindset thinking there's only 8 planets, a sun and a moon, I did to but that's the mentality of a child, I don't care about our solar system, were just one planet out of trillions I care about everything out what exists around us, Earth is nothing, it's not special and its not the centre of the universe, not even close. We're not the protagonists and gods of our whole reality, sorry to break it to you Also the rest of your comment I don't even understand, I honestly don't see why you're going against me I thought you was being friendly at first lol
I don't even know where to begin with this, what a massive load of conjecture with no references, no studies, no proof. Have a read of this > "Especially on Aliens since it's obvious they exist but the question is what are they, where are they from, what's their language, what's their religion, how does their technology work, if we do actually have an Alliance like the Israeli Space Chief says I want it to be revealed I want Aliens to give us their technology because we could say so many lives, think of say Cancer, think of how many lives we could save if we knew how, it's not because we can't, it's because we don't know how but there is most likely a cure" You realise you actually wrote those words? Really? Seriously? So somehow you know Aliens exist, you know they're friendly and you know they have technology to cure Cancer, because presumably they have very similar biology to humans? All this time they've been hiding from us just waiting for the time to pop up and say "Ah now then you know that God fella he isn't real but at least we are and boy do we have some miracles for you." Your post is full of absurdities and supposition and you also know that Einstein is incorrect, what about Newton? It's true that humans know hardly anything about the Universe and even human biology is mostly a mystery in terms of its complexity, however we have a system called Science and this is the best way we know to observe the Universe, and not just make stuff up and guess and make assumptions. Einstein was a bonafide genius, here's that system of science popping up again. (I can imagine you being a Scooby Doo villian, "If it wasn't for that pesky science I would have been correct with my assumptions, drat!")> "Ripples through space-time called gravitational waves were hypothesized by Einstein about 100 years ago, but not actually observed until recently. In 2016, an international collaboration of astronomers working with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) detectors announced a landmark discovery: This enormous experiment detected the subtle signal of gravitational waves that had been traveling for 1.3 billion years after two black holes merged in a cataclysmic event. This opened a brand new door in an area of science called multi-messenger astronomy, in which both gravitational waves and light can be studied"

And IBM supplied computers to the third realm in the 1930's which were used to process a bad mass movement of people. US Operation paperclip gave asylum to third realm scientists and engineers in exchange for thier knowledge. VW was a certain bad leaders baby and yet its cars are best sellers. History is not black n white but many shades of grey........
You'll get about as much truth as the entry for the Chinese Communist Party. Free wireless electricity was suppressed by J.P Morgan and other investors who wanted wired and metered. He also invented high voltage power lines and the electric motor. When he died the FBI raided his hotel room at the New Yorker and confiscated about 50 boxes of his files..........the shipping and airline industries wouldn't have been keen on teleportation experiments.........
Many Thanks :)

Croatian born Serb. l was born not far away from his birth place in Lika (Croatia). He was better than Edison who he initially worked for when he came to NY. Edison stayed around DC Tesla diasgreed and took it to the next level hence we all enjoy benefits of AC current today. But this is just a small number of inventions, about 1000 they say he had: ac motor, Tesla coil, he only managed to get recognized after his death and unit of magnetic induction or magnetic flux was named after him.He wanted electricity (energy) to be free for everyone which was not something that capitalism was based on and hence he never succeeded financially. Great humanist and brilliant mind.

I think salary sacrifice means the payment for the car is take before you are taxed rather than after. There is no BIK on electric vehicles but I believe this is changing to 1% from April.
My company will also soon have this scheme running and am also very interested in any info you may have. Thanks
Hi Adam my company is also considering the same scheme, how does it benefit the employees?
I test drove the long range model and found it amazing. Ended up leasing the Performance model which I've had for a month now. Unlike any other car I have driven. Considering the company has only been making cars for 5 and a half years it's a pretty incredible achievement.

The thing is that a large number of people would not spend more than 15k because it is an electric car. You're totally right on the cost savings but it would take you a very large number of years where you would see a return versus a normal car. Osbviously the numbers can vary and there are too many variables/ifs. Personally I would never ever, spend more than 15k on a car. I always think personally, buying a new car unless you have an awesome finance deal, is silly. For some reason, because this is a Tesla, loved the idea of always having a Tesla, I over ruled myself and bought a car nearly 3x more than what I would buy and brand new :-) :-) the car is awesome. Is it worth the extra cost?? Really depends on your views. Do I enjoy it? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Wish it was far cheaper? Don't we all :-)
A comparable petrol or diesel would cost much more than £15k. They are so much cheaper to run than petrol or diesel, no servicing and plenty of places offer free charging, or do it overnight at home for a few £s. Depreciation much less also. Also so much nicer and fun to drive.
Definitely don't need that size but for same cost of model 3 you get used model s. Agree, I do prefer model 3.
I love mine, it’s been great so far! Did a Europe trip for 5 days which was awesome and didn’t really face any charging difficulties either right now but could see this becoming a problem in the future when a lot more people own a Tesla and the stations are full!
Wow..... Sense of humour deficit alert!

Its the fastest car on the planet.. Costs 6p a mile (until ya boot it) then it's probably 12p The batteries alone on this car are worth £100,000 if you compare it to the power wall.. Enough battery power to cycle round the world I'm guessing.. 4p a charge for 15 miles (zero pedalling. (this things like £16) £16 ÷ by 4p is 400 400x15 is 6000 miles.. Yep.. Bicycles are da future If the vikings owned this not only would they have a little sex wee that its powered by THOR They would also turn the wheels into grindstone to sharpen the tools and ivor the boneless would have a pretty gnarly whip!

I know you don't need to connect a monitor to it! I've emphasised this enough I think with the 3 or 4 posts I made.
Hot, been looking for a spare GPU for my HTC for awhile now. Heat OP
You don't need to connect a monitor for its intended purpose (running computing tasks). The reason I asked whether it could make sense is that in the link provided by one user it appeared to only be 2x the power for computing tadls compared to a GTX 1080 that costs over 5x less (you could use it for computing without plugging in a monitor, like crypto miners do). The answer from another user (thanks @plork) seems to make sense: in certain calculations (double precision, whatever that means :D) it's apparently 10x as fast as a GTX 1080 for less than 10x the price... so there's the value proposition :)

I'd have to agree, there's no predicting the problems you had, but I always check zapmap before committing to a journey that will need charging, as there are often posts which polar say are live, but are reported as broken on zapmap.
Yes! This is a fantastic perk of the scheme... I borrowed their Tesla a few months ago for a week having accumulated the points during the free 6 months so I'd spent less than £15 with them on charging costs when I borrowed the car, which is a bargain. Unfortunately I'm sure that type of generosity can't last forever.
it's been free for the first 6 months for at least a year. It's probably one of the most convenient networks, but I still find it hugely unreliable. I even got stranded for 3 hours when one of their posts crashed and wouldn't release my cable.
AFAIK CYC remain a separate concern. This is simply a partnership. I've kept my subscription going for a few months beyond my trial. Quite like the lack of hassle - no mucking about with smartphone apps, no getting irate when Chargemaster bill you an admin fee for failed charges. TBH it isn't bad value at £7.85 anyway. I go in to central Birmingham a couple of times a month and get free parking right by St Paul's for three hours.
You also get to hire out a electric car for free for a week, once you have built up enough points, including BMW i8 and Tesla model S
