@MrSwitch Amazing efforts.
@Everyone else contributing, equally amazing. (edited)MrSwitch AuthorMate, if you can link me to them, I'll add them in, I haven't purposefully excluded them, and I have asked in the body of the deal for people to suggest others, fire away and I'll add them in. I get you are passionate about this, but no need to have a go - Xzsharp@MrSwitch I would like to add these two natIonal volunteer-run government and financially regulated charities.
They have been doing the biggest aid in the region - more than the government itself sadly - from portable toilets to kitchens, rescue staff, heavy machinery, portable pharmacies, doctors, and container shelters for families as well as documenting all of their donations, and expenses with receipts.
There is no commission to your donation like most platforms, and neither the bulk of it goes to CEOs and admin salaries, and every penny you give is being spent on the people and animals that are affected.
You can donate using your credit or debit card in GBP or EUR or USD
You can transfer directly to their IBAN accounts GBP or EUR or USD so there is no commission on the card transactions, every penny reaches the destination.
You can look up both in social media, their websites, and regulated financial records.

Unfortunately like the Ukraine situation, many are already exploiting people's generosity with this, and the AKP government or business-run charities with CEOs, you never know if your good will ever make it to its destination.panpipeMy friend in Turkey recommended Ahbap.org so I donated there. He said they're doing a lot more than the government. - Yas_MinI'm trying to find a trustworthy Syrian place to send too.
Turkey gets enough help. But Syria has been sanctioned for years and I feel so bad for their peopleem_uk_userTo send help directly to the people in the north of Syria, please donate to these registered trustworthy charities:

The clock is ticking, and those people lack the basics. They need specialized gear, rescue equipment, trucks, and ambulance vans, not to mention food and clothes.
Every pound makes a difference for them. - SavasmaxSad that there's not a signal Kurdish charity in that list, when it's Kurdish charities always tirelessly working to support civilians in the Kurdish regions (which is where this earthquake has hit the most).
They should be the ones getting the funding to help, unlike the Turkish ones that would most likely siphon it essentially into their own pockets or agenda. As many know the Kurds are suppressed in Turkey.

Its just the white helmets type groups. I don't like how they operate - gestalterThank you for this.
Can you add AKUT, entirely voluntary, non-governmental search and rescue organization from Turkey.
akut.org.tr/en/…ion - astyyNatwest are matching donations via their reward scheme to DEC (up to £100K). I'm hoping this further contributes to the Govt matching addition, so should be reward points well used.naila.mariaPlease give more info about Natwest. TY
- Rubina_AzadHi, would like to suggest a registered charity in Scotland called World Care Foundation with 100% donation policy who are currently supporting the victims of the earthquakes. Website: worldcarefoundation.org/

I'd also recommend Salam Charity who regularly help those in need in various countries and are currently appealing for Turkey & Syria.
salamcharity.org.uk/R1992I remember phoning up and asking about the percentage these guys take, it was quite high at around 20% or more if I remember correctly. Just something to keep in mind when donating...it put me off them as I feel that's too high a cut to be had - MazzaM
- Timbuc2The legend the man Mr Switch.. hats off!!!
- Zaheen_XImagine giving a box of fruit only to learn that a portion has been taken before it reaches the final destination. Whilst not the end of the world, wouldn't it be better if the person you handed your cash to wasn't in fact a charity case themselves.
Ummah Welfare Trust (uwt.org) Committed to 100% Donations
All help is good. It is better to give charity with your own hands, and true charity is done in secret. (edited)sigorneyJust leave people alone, it is up to them to do what they want to do with their money. I for one wont donate to a religious charity. So stop patronising. - Sonya786786UWT is the one I donate to the most and have done for YEARS. Because UWT pay for ALL of their admin using money received from their charity shops and clothing banks. They also have less overheads because their staff don't get paid the way a lot of UK charity staff do for example; I read somewhere its COO gets c.£50k p/a which is 33% below the national average. People on social media have said the people who work for UWT are sincere and the money IS getting to those in need. They don't advertise much (unlike Oxfam whose high profile campaigns are excessive imo - Oxfam uses 11p in every £1 donated towards advertising).
Donors can opt to help UWT specifically pay for admin. Eg when making a donation you can choose to pay the costs of processing your payment on top of the donation amount. Or donors can choose "admin costs" as a campaign to donate to. I like this –the donor can help the needy and also help the administration of the charity separately, and deliberately, this way and via donations at the shops /clothing banks.
Thank you Mr Switch forstarting this thread
Can people share more drop off points around the UK for donors to give food, clothing etc? Many thanks in advance (edited) - zoobennyI'd like to recommend RE:ACT Disaster Response, the UK based humanitarian charity that I volunteer with.
The volunteers are mostly veteran and blue light, utilising their wealth of skills and experience, to help those in their darkest hour of need.
The first volunteers arrived in Turkey the day after the earthquake to do a recce, and more volunteers will arrive Saturday. The charity specialises in helping those hardest to reach, that are not assisted by the bigger charities.

I appreciate it if you could add the organizations below as well to your original post. All of them are registered trusted charities, and they are all active in the northern areas of Syria, at least for the last decade.
1- Molham Volunteering Team:
molhamteam.com/en/…439
Molham Volunteer Team is an internationally registered charity in Germany, Canada and Sweden. Their main office is based in Turkiey.
2- Violet Organization:
violetsyria.org/
Violet Organization INC for Relief and Development is registered under U.S. Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) as a charitable non-profit organization supporting refugees and vulnerable people.
3- The White Helmets (Part of the Syrian Campaign):
whitehelmets.org/en/
The Syria Campaign is registered as a non-profit in the UK as The Voices Project, a non-profit in Germany as Voices Project Germany and a 501(c)3 non-profit in the US as Voices Project USA.
The clock is ticking, and those people lack the basics. They need specialized gear, rescue equipment, trucks, and ambulance vans, not to mention food, clothes and shelter for those who become homeless for the second time.
Every pound makes a difference for them.MrSwitch AuthorHi, I wasn't ignoring you apologies, was just waiting confirmation from CS, have added them in now - NeostarI used Islamic Relief to donate, they seem decent and I've always donated to them for Zakat
- bobbitchinWe have just filled 2 and a half vans with clothing, medicines and food. Dropped off and the container comes tomorrow. Hope this link is ok, they are one of the few able to go into Syria as well.
onenationuk.org/ - Haroon1239Most of the uk charities working in North Syria give the money to other (local) organisations working there, with few exceptions. Best way to donate is to the DEC appeal.
The main exception is Islamic Relief who have 60 staff in Gaziantep and 70 in NW Syria and have been first responders. They are one of the 15 organisations in the DEC too.
Other UK charities with good presence include Action for Humanity (who originally were called Syria Relief when they started after the onset of the war)
None of the mainstream charities do this 100% donation policy because to do things properly costs money! - WheresWally99Thanks so much for this post.I'd like to add another 100% donation policy UK registered charity.Volunteer led, with no paid members. No deductions from any donations.

It's great when we all come together. Irrespective of our differences. Sorry for the rant!!
Thank you Mr Switch ️ ️ - ibobsyRespect MrSwich
- TwosonsThank you. What a devastating earthquake
. Has affected so many people who already are so much out of pocket! - MessiahWish we could give heat
- BegizeA much much better way of drawing people's attention to this than countless threads about mobile providers offering free calls.
- BigAle7777Great work as always
- hemanGreat work MrSwitch, credit to you, a worthy cause.
- neonesThanks for this effort. HUKD is truly a special place. Generally I suggest donating to the local authorities since all will be transferred directly to the required.places without any cuts or delays.
- ZVO4FreedomAlmost all the charities only operate in Idlib, Syria only, the area of Syria held by ISIS/Al-Qaeda terrorists. I wonder why that is and if any of the money/food/medicines will actually get to the people or be re-sold/withheld by these terrorists.
The rest of Syria is under USA/UK/EU sanctions and siege for the past 10 years which means no fuel, food, medicines or money can be sent there, USA/UK/EU have refused to lift these barbaric sanctions even though Syria has been hit with this calamity.babydolloen.afad.gov.tr/abo…-us
This is the Turkish government organisation that deals with Disaster and Crisis management. You can donate directly to them to help fund their rescue efforts. My Turkish neighbour recommended this organisation for anyone who wants to help financially. - RealDonaldTrumpIts so sad, over 11,000 people now.Bil.2722k now, heartbreaking 💔
