Going to Florida, transport from airport to hotel. Any recommendations?

Posted 26th Apr 2023
Wife has tasked me to book transport from airport to hotel as she said "I've done everything else". Looked at Skippy transport and that's about $190 return for a group of 6 with luggage. Uber and lyft are about $40 from airport to hotel (i'm going to assume it's the same going back) so saving of $100 (give or take).
Granted there is no guarrantee that Uber/Lyft will have a vehicle that can take 6 of us at that particular time but hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. Has anyone went down this route of "not booking" and winging it or any other recommendations for transport.

Cheers

Which airport? and which location are you staying, Florida is quite a big place with multiple airports. (edited)

Orando (MCO is the code) and a hotel on International Drive. Wife has all the details, I just happened to have a day off today and she told me to sort out transport and it's not as easy as I thought.

I personally wouldn't risk it on the day, after 9 hours of flying + waiting at the airport, the smallest thing will turn Mother Teresa into an evil dictator and you'll be on the sharp end of it as booking the transport was your job

Depending on which terminal you come into depends on the taxi offering, Terminal C (the brand new one) has a really limited array of taxi offerings at present saying that we managed to grab an Uber XL pretty easily after a flight cancellation, it just took 15 minutes to arrive.

As mentioned the shuttle is worth looking at if you're trying to keep costs down. I've never used it, we also hire a car.

Have a look at thedibb.co.uk it has a wealth of information! (edited)

Been told to get transfers booked rather taxi firms. Any suggestions for transport companies.
