You guys missed out on the MY 2018 one of these. I picked up the V90 D4 R Design with 20" Rims and a Reverse camera for £2500 initial rental and £209 a month. The D4 Momentum for 18 months was £1999 initial and £179 a month. There was also no admin fee as it was direct from a Volvo dealership. I would recommend going to a Volvo dealership with this offer and seeing if they can beat it. They matched my offer from another Volvo dealership. It's a nice car, MPG isn't anywhere near what is quoted and significantly worse than my old C Class but maybe that is something to do with how much I use the Pilot Assist to do most of the motorway driving for me.
Consider me a massive cock then (lol) all part of being a delivery driver, you drive slow you go home late and dont see your kids for long and yeah ive had some great times in a matiz
Ill give that one a miss broke my nose in one of those when i was six my mate pushed me down a steep hill into a brick wall was still fun though (lol)
Camry is on its way back as Toyota are dropping the Avensis (now that was a boring car) As for the Matiz now that was a fun and interesting car to drive, small, light, peppy engine and tiny skinny tyres made you feel like Dave Starsky at 30mph MM
Getting the car to drive itself whilst on the motorway unfortunately lacks a bit to much driver involvement for me, yes it is relaxing whilst on a long journey but boring! Yes it's full of tech but very little of which is there to enhance the driving experience. I do not have T8 or D5 so I don't now what it is like to drive one of these. I agree in as much that if you a prepared to drive like a massive cock any car can give you some sort of thrill. MM
Wow 30k a year will definitely be hard to find. It was cheaper for me to pay the excess mileage than to change mine to the 15k pa that I need though.
Good effort. I need 30k a year and full maintenance on a business lease so the right deal is harder to come by. With the car sitting so low it could definitely do with an upgrade from the 19" alloys mine has.
The bursting blue was the only one they could source. It also had 20 inch rims and a reverse camera. In the end I only paid £500 more for those extras.
Mine is Osmium grey but same spec. This is the best colour but it was even more expensive on top of metallic paint.
I went from a C220 cdi to the V90. trust me, it's much nicer and doesn't look dull!
Aren’t they worth like £30? I’d say that’s a pretty decent deal!
Thanks OP... just took a test drive today and got a free Amazon Dot for my efforts (cheeky)
I don't get what the deal is here as what do you gain by driving a car around for 45 mins if you don't ever intend buying it, if you do I assume you'll need to visit a showroom where you can arrange a test drive anyway?
It’s only available in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. I would give it a go if I was in one of those cities🚘
Gotcha. Ok cool, thanks for the reply, seems a great deal
My friend was interested in an S90 and they found him one on the same deal. The problem is finding stock without all the added extras.
Well it's still advertised on Marshall website so give it ago
Hey mate- what do you think the odds are of my contacting a Volvo dealer here in a London and getting exactly the deal you got (same options etc) - the spec you got is perfect for me and this seems a great deal, I know it’s now July tho
They said the same at the End of May (apparently mine had to be registered by the end of May) however people still managed to get deals in June. They are still advertising it on their website too, I will expire it when they take it off unless there is something official to say it is no longer available. The difficulty seems to be finding stock as the ones that are left are high spec.
Black looks great with the tints, did you also get the black interior? I called Volvo assist to make sure the car is registered and changed the address (breakdown\home start) to my name as it had the lease company and could see that being a circus if I ever had to call them.
Black is nice when clean and loving the look
It is. This is definately a lot more luxurious than the Passat (which itself wasn't bad).
Rediculous. Can you ask them to cough up for a full valet? Did it get driven down?
That's a shame. Especially re: the wheel ;( My car doesn't look like it has seen a drop of polish since it left China. A quick go with the electric polisher and it looks stunning. The two light scratches on mine have 90% polished out.
I wouldnt. Try riding your bike to Edinburgh at 70mph and give us a comparison then (y)
Again, is it a good lease deal? Your model will always be cheaper but that's irrelevant when you consider the post. I have a bike, it's cheaper than a car, but I wouldn't measure it against this deal
Im proving a point that it is a rip off and how much profit they are making out of you thats all, but if you have money to burn go for it.
Surely this isn't about your preference, but if the deal is a good one. As it's clear your not interested in lease deals, stay away from them. I'm not interested in deals for bras, beans, bookmarks or a myriad of other things. I dont comment on them as it's a waste of my time, my effort and it detracts from the key point. Hot Deal or not
You stick to autotrader....you'll need another motor when your bargain buy packs up (y)
I like Evo personally but it's down to preference. Pop into a newsagent/supermarket and have a look!
Which car journals would you recommend
Possibly but my last two cars, honda civic and audi a3 both did 100k with no issues. Clutch went bang whilst downshifting from 3rd to 2nd at about 15mph so hardly being stressed and that was after 3k miles. The other two breakdowns were sensor failures. Also the auto braking function has a habit of slamming on whilst driving through town and someone is a bit close to the pavement. If I get to the end of the lease without being rear ended itll be a miracle.
I think this is pretty much the standard price for this car. It has been available for cheaper previously https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/volvo-v40-hatchback-t2-122-momentum-5dr-2-year-lease-8k-miles-per-annum-138pm-828-initial-rental-4002-total-what-car-magazine-2823183#comment-32380535
Information is knowledge: years of reading car journals.
Apologies @billythepet I've just read that drivel I've typed. Moral ofbthe story, use protection. Lol. Ignore me pal, I think I'm a comedian when I've had too many. Enjoy your w/end (highfive)
Don't count your chickens Billy. I bet you've put it around on the club scene, working your magic on the ladies at the weekend and you've loads of kids that will be knocking on your door that your unaware of you old player you.
Since when do I have a child? (lol) (lol)
I just meant i always thought that, i didn't need to say it. 😗
I'm actually embarrassed for you. You never called me anything btw, so I can't still be the thing you didn't call me.
S90 is competitor to E class, not C Class or 3 Series. Please check prices of E Class / 5 Series / A6.
expensive for a volvo, you can get a merc c class for £228 10k miles.
very unlikely u will get better deal as prices of new MY19 model is going up. Also VED will be applicable from 1st April so expect new quotes in later half of the year to be more as well.
Not a bad price but I have been quotes a similar monthly rate (taking into account initial payment) for a V90, same spec. Tempted but will wait until the next quarter to see if there are any better deals. Need a towbar and they charge £995 which is daft! Leasing works very well if you like hassle-free motoring, a nice new car and can afford the payments. If you can't afford it then buying an older, inferior car is always an option. If I had £25k burning a hole in my pocket I wouldn't spend it on a nearly-new car.
Just saying, some things you use and abuse, some things you keep lol
That's good to know. Thank you
In terms of price no. I have found that Admiral for example don’t give you third party cover for driving other people’s cars when yours is a lease.
Is insurance affected when leasing, as you don't own the car?
Shame I'm after a pick up and this is only an 18 month deal. Still good tho
must say if thats true the specs are ok but only cause its a s90 like a8 and 7 series bmw etc threy alredy come with decent specs but the rest are ussally cheap cars with poor spes still if you look at the extra list you will see a ton of nice features that you are missing
That was quick delivery! I'm hoping I still get mine at end of April as my Audi A4 Estate goes back when my Volvo S60 T4 should be delivered, but I need to chase Volvo dealer for the contract hire paperwork though. I think the dealer ordered a qty of them rather than back to back ordering so I should be ok, as he mentioned he only had 2 left when I ordered. I'll need to call them on Monday. How's the car? I ordered mine without a test drive, as 18 months isn't long to keep it anyway. I was more bothered about finding a half decent car for £200 a month all in, with only the chance of 1 service and no replacement tyres, my Audi will be close to 2mm on the 2 fronts when that goes back, may swap them with rears next week to make sure they last.
I've never seen an 18month contract before. I thought they were always 2, 3 or 4 years? I suppose there's no reason why they can't be 1.5 years but doesn't that make it very difficult to compare offers?
Nice one! I took delivery of mine on Friday and so far i'm very impressed.
I took your advice and went to a Volvo main dealer today. Nice guys - really helpful. Ive ordered one with Met paint and the "winter pack" - they didnt have any left that didnt have these options on - for £168per month on a 9+17 payment profile at 8k mpa for 18 months lease. Also got 1 service in 12 months time included for free, so effectively its a "maintained" price and is costing me ~£4,300 all in for the 18 months. Delivery on March 1st on a 18 plate. Pretty happy.
Anybody looking to get one of these is better off going straight to Volvo dealers for the offer, I have just ordered one on 18 month contract hire , £2k initial + £99.58 per month, 8000 miles per year on 18 month contract , 0<5000 excess miles charged at 7.56p per mile. £205 per month + any excess mileage. No broker fees to pay either. I couldn't get another Audi A4 for same price as last time so chose this. Use What Car Leasing to see which dealers are offering the vehicles, rather than brokers
I think your maths has gone a bit out... a 18 month £3981 lease amortised is £221 per month. A £6000 24 month lease amortises to £250 per month - a good bit more expensive.... That said, lots of Volvo dealers are offering this lease deal and some have 24 month versions. You’d save the fees going direct so worth checking and shopping around
Volvo’s require a service every twelve months and it’s not mileage depende, so I’m afraid you won’t be able to skip it (without being charged at the end anyway!)
Needs T4 190 in the title really, could be D2, D5, T2 etc.
18 months for £4000 over the term. A 24 month lease would equate to £6000, and £6000 gets you a lot more car than this looking at previous lease deal. eg the Jaguar XF deal which went really hot is £5250 over two years for a £34k car, this is £6000 over two years for a £29k car.
Voted hot But https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/volvo-s60-t4-se-nav-lease-2000-deposit-99pm-18mnth-pch-total-cost-3782-2876096 was slightly better in total cost.
Looks like this is finished :(
This is one ugly, ugly car.
Looking at your forum name answers your question perfectly.
Tyre's, don't be pedantic.
Usually with a lease deal it’s 1+23 or 3+23, 6+23 etc. So in this case with it only being a 18 month deal it would be 1+17, the upfront price includes the first month rent. At least that’s how leases usually work.
i Lease What I Want!
It’s called economic/social disparity.
Good price but worth going for the nav plus imo.
People buy according to their needs. A corsa could probley make it to the shops once a week or so but some people use their cars for work. No work = no money. So better to get a good car in warranty. Any issues the main dealer will handle with for free car whilst being repaired. Also no need to worry about any mot or tyre costs. Lease also covers the road tax
Why some people buy Vauxhalls baffles me.
That was for Scotland - in England the Fiesta was the top selling car last year
I agree best car I have ever driven at the end of the day the comfort is second to none
Don't buy the petrol as it drinks to no end, I have the diesel R design auto and it averages 42mpg in town and 65mpg on the motorway. I normally get 650-750 miles to a tank. Could not recommend the car higher but would never entertain a manual gearbox
Very astute those drivers.
Doesn't make it a good car. It's an average, cheap small car at best.
Indeed! My next car will be an m140. Nice noisy petrol engine!
Just had a mailer from them offering a cheap S60 SE Nav now too.
The total cost is £6127.38 which includes the £360 processing fee to pay. The vehicle value is also £36,750 based off the P11D (Manufacturer RRP £36965). Not sure where the OP got the 42k value from.
Those are not issues - those are by design the active regeneration functioning. Yep a warning on dash and car going to limp mode (loss of power) - usually fairly obvious you have an issue albeit older cars the message may be more generic than stating dpf (like engine malfunction was a favourite of ford).
When your car is not having its cooling fans running. When you see an increased idle speed. When you have noticed the deactivation of automatic Stop/Start (if you have that). When you notice a slight increase in fuel consumption. When you notice a hot, acrid smell from the exhaust and when you notice the engine note change. But your car should inform you with a warning message and/or dash signal.
Is this with the 20% off today only?
Full price now 8-(
Good price and cool set
Good deal, £48 in toys r us with four free figs
No anger at all. But it frustates me when people are giving opinions on things they dont own or fully know about. You cant argue the facts/numbers etc. I know how tall i am, and know how much space there is in both the front and back in everyday use, compared to a reviewer who has spent very little time in it-and we know certain reviewers or magazines can be biased one way or another. Id just hate someone is put off by inaccurate information. Im not banging the drum for Volvo in any way, in fact ive had lots of problems with my D2 version, and wouldnt recommend it at all. This being the petrol though, is probably the best one to get-but in the R-Design spec. Ive only ever had family size hatchbacks, and this has more than most.
Why the anger my friend, just because you aren’t agreed with, doesn’t have to make you so aggressive, one question mark would have been sufficient. You don’t agree, I don’t agree, great no need to have a stroke about it it’s only a shopping forum. My fact is it’s to small you fact is it just right, Goldilocks prefers it smaller can’t keep ever one happy all of the time. End of the day it’s just a car, don’t worry about it.
And you believe all reviews?? I have one of these, so i know how much room there is. Not an opinion, but fact.
reminds of the old days when people thought it was a good idea to rent electrical appliances like TV's and washing machines Eventually they realised renting was a mugs game.
Not everybody can afford to do that. I don't have savings due to just buying a house. I don't want to spend £500 on a car so a lease works out perfectly for me. Also, some people don't want a used car, even if it did work out cheaper. Why do people buy new clothes when they could get them cheaper from car boot sales? Because people want some things NEW!
I believe he is on an old one as I signed up for the same 18 months ago.
New lease deal available on this car. Lots of mileage options available from the same broker over a 2 year lease (9+23): https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/volvo-v40-hatchback-t2-122-momentum-5dr-2-year-lease-5k-miles-per-annum-11678pm-105106-initial-rental-240-admin-fee-3976-total-pure-vehicle-leasing-2824256 5k - £3976 8k - £4317 10k - £4545
