Or worse, they just don't like the brand. This isn't a bad deal either.

I’m sure others have a lot more to add. Google is helpful also.

You forgot to mention always driving new stock models with barely any extras for a premium price...

Please explain the benefits of leasing?

Its like renting a house.. you pay a deposit and then the rent each month. Where house prices tend to go up, cars tend to depreciate..
So where as a house is a long term high value commitment that will usually be worth more than you paid for it, a car is a short term lower value commitment that will usually depreciate.

I had been in contact with the dealer over several months, back and forth to get to that point. It may just have been because of what they had sitting at the time but I couldn't beat that anywhere for an R Design. It also included metallic paint and possibly the winter pack. I actually may still be interested in the deal, I am currently trying to get a BMW 335d in the same ball park, which isn't too much more than the price of an R Design S90, but so far I've got nowhere near the ball park, not even in the same city!

I think your maths has gone a bit out... a 18 month £3981 lease amortised is £221 per month. A £6000 24 month lease amortises to £250 per month - a good bit more expensive....

That said, lots of Volvo dealers are offering this lease deal and some have 24 month versions. You’d save the fees going direct so worth checking and shopping around

People buy according to their needs. A corsa could probley make it to the shops once a week or so but some people use their cars for work. No work = no money. So better to get a good car in warranty. Any issues the main dealer will handle with for free car whilst being repaired. Also no need to worry about any mot or tyre costs.
Lease also covers the road tax

No anger at all. But it frustates me when people are giving opinions on things they dont own or fully know about. You cant argue the facts/numbers etc. I know how tall i am, and know how much space there is in both the front and back in everyday use, compared to a reviewer who has spent very little time in it-and we know certain reviewers or magazines can be biased one way or another. Id just hate someone is put off by inaccurate information. Im not banging the drum for Volvo in any way, in fact ive had lots of problems with my D2 version, and wouldnt recommend it at all. This being the petrol though, is probably the best one to get-but in the R-Design spec. Ive only ever had family size hatchbacks, and this has more than most.

Why the anger my friend, just because you aren’t agreed with, doesn’t have to make you so aggressive, one question mark would have been sufficient. You don’t agree, I don’t agree, great no need to have a stroke about it it’s only a shopping forum. My fact is it’s to small you fact is it just right, Goldilocks prefers it smaller can’t keep ever one happy all of the time. End of the day it’s just a car, don’t worry about it.

Getting in and out can be a bit awkward, due to the size of the front seats which can get in the way of your feet. Once in, passengers will find comfortable seats but not an abundance of space. Headroom is particularly tight for taller occupants, and if those in the front are tall, they may have to slide their seats forward a bit to free up kneeroom in the back – not something you normally expect in a family five-door.

And you believe all reviews??

I have one of these, so i know how much room there is. Not an opinion, but fact.
reminds of the old days when people thought it was a good idea to rent electrical appliances like TV's and washing machines Eventually they realised renting was a mugs game.

If you’re after a deal why not buy a 3-4 year old car?

Not everybody can afford to do that. I don't have savings due to just buying a house. I don't want to spend £500 on a car so a lease works out perfectly for me.

Also, some people don't want a used car, even if it did work out cheaper. Why do people buy new clothes when they could get them cheaper from car boot sales? Because people want some things NEW!

Good set. My Lego mad 8yo managed it with some minor assistance as his first technic set. I think it can take power functions as well.

My mates got the vxr astra, interior seems good in that.
Cant say ive ever really judged a car on its interior. Having come from evo's and the like, you dont mind the plastic interior.
Ice Cold:

1. Can get cheaper from a broker
2. Avoid Inchcape like the plague.
I'm sure they'll quote their base cost of the car, not including volume and customer satisfaction survey discounts. They'll still be making more than you can get from a broker for.

VW dealers have only a 5% margin before aforementioned bonuses, but volume bonuses are up to 15% and customer satisfaction scores an additional 10% maximum.

You dont have to take finance to get this £1 deal

But you should. Take the finance, then cancel the finance arrangement within 14 days and settle - you'll get to retain the deposit contribution as your balance owed in settlement already has it deducted.
