I've only had experience with the very basic cheap roof racks, but these are so much better, feel very sturdy and the locking mechanism makes loading and unloading quick and easy, no faffing around. Yes at the minute especially second hand prices are mental, quite often more than you can get them for new. For fitment either use the Thule website, or I’ve found PF Jones site to be good to tell me what I need too.

If you're looking for the Thule, then your best bet is Amazon, Ebay or the roofbox companies. If you're happy with pre-owned, then ebay, gumtree, fb marketplace. However, I find they are only marginally cheaper than brand new ones.

I bought this, I just now need the bars themselves (for a v70) What's the best way for obtaining these, I swear I used to see people just giving them away?

BTW to mount it on a regular square bars you'll probably need a set of small adapters (I reckon it's Thule 889500). It's both on Amazon and Halfords for £6 per set.

The discounts are all over the place on multiple orders bit it all adds up correct.

I think that was kind of what it was, have you looked at your receipt they don't make sense, this was my volvo as appeared on separate receipt even though part of bigger order, total - promotion doesn't equal order total

For me I think it was taking 10% off the price it was before the prime day sale. Im not complaining though!

I got this for my birthday today. It's an excellent item and I have spent hours building the first part already. Really detailed and, as an engineer, I love using it to teach my family about differentials and the 6 cylinder engine that it shows working. Can't wait until it's finished.
