I changed my Netflix region to Turkey and now I can't watch anything without vpn. Am I the only one?

Posted 9th May 2022
My 4 years old Netflix account was due to be renewed on pasy Saturday. I let it expire and then followed the turkish gift card method to get one month at a cheaper price but now I get a message that says:

"Your account can't be used in this location. For more info, go to help.netflix.com"

If I turn the VPN back then I can watch stuff (although Netflix Turkish catalogue), but I share Netflix with my family and they are tech iliterate so I'm afraid I ruined Netflix for them... Am I the only one facing this issue?

Maybe they are cracking down on this method by geo-locking any new accounts/subscriptions to the country you are paying in!

OP please update after trying the above suggestions. Thanks and gl! (edited)

Wow never heard this before. I have had a Turkish Netflix account for years and still use UK fine and sometimes use US. Would be interesting to hear from others.

In the old days I had problems and found logging out worked.

What device are you using? Try uninstalling Netflix app too or use a new web browser in incognito mode.

    It might be cookies...

Maybe although they make a big deal of you getting local content when travelling which obviously this wouldn't allow.
