Indoor camera for pets with motion sensor

Posted 10th Apr 2023
Hi all,
Are there any recommendations for an indoor camera that I can set up with motion sensors to see what the pets get up to when we're out?
Preferably under £50 and without a need for a subscription.

Check out the Imou Ranger range. You can get the 4MP version for between £24 and £27 - Image quality is fairly decent, it has pan and tilt function and stores videos locally onto an SD card. The App isn't too bad either. Imou is the consumer arm of Dahua a major Chinese CCTV manufacturer so it's not a no name generic brand. (edited)

We have a Tapo, i get notifications through the app and then check the notification which records about a minute after the incident has stopped(it records to sd card, however all you do is click the app and it plays back)
It also has a mic & speaker, so you could tell your pets off if they were up behaving like (secret life if pets)
You can also tilt & pan around the room, whilst watching on the app (edited)

Loads, but some will cite privacy concerns etc.

If no real interest in ongoing rolling free cloud clips (but will accept rolling 7 days of free cloud after jumping through a few hoops) but want convenience of remote rotating pan & tilt control:
start from £15 fulfilled Amazon; access via Yi IoT smartphone app and/or browser access
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…M2/

Or if definitely prefer ongoing rolling free cloud via credible Amazon AWS and (claimed) end-to-end encryption:
£23.91 via current tickbox discount fulfilled Amazon 7 days rolling cloud clips; access via app only:
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…55/
or 24hrs rolling AWS clips with arguably slicker functionality/features £24.99; access via Blurams app or browser or Alexa or Google Assistant plus IFTTT
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…8T/

All options above have other indoor, outdoor wired, outdoor battery/solar powered cameras if you wish to add security / CCTV functionality with same app/control eco-system,
and all models above have provision for onboard footage storage plus optional cloud sub in addition to the rolling free cloud.

Thank you. Re. Rolling free cloud - does that mean for storage? We're happy to using an SD card. Some of the comments about the Blurams are concerning about privacy etc

We have a Tapo, absolutely no complaints so far. It records to SD card whenever it detects movement which you can view via the app.
