They have cheap deals advertised here. But I would get mips had one without and it is so much better. The best thing is to get right size and fit. You should get something good for £25-£30 if that is not too much. Bargain basement helmets would be £10

I'd suggest a Specialized Align II. It's great quality, has MIPS (important safety feature), and can be found for <£30 a lot of the time (Tredz currently has some at £30).

£20 for a DHB helmet from Wiggle. They have some kids ones around a tenner.
