Get it drunk!
This was really good once
Nah, it is Canton.
No, Atlantic. Cardiff he said.
Is it Store Pacific? Has anyone else seen it in any other metro stores?
Nice! This will go into my little Christmas pile of festive smelling candles/melts! (y)
Yankee candles wax melts !! Thanks for for the Health And Safety info (highfive)

Swapped mine for a sonos beam which is even better
Forgot to say it’s for Amazon Prime members.

I have one of these, has been going strong for well over a year and sounds amazing.
We got Netflix, Prime and BT Sport through Sky as it is (y) We left the hood to dwell in the wood so living in the sticks there ain't no cable anyway but seeing Virgin are such stripe up merchants even if there was we'd not go with them, the speeds we getting from BT Fibre in the middle of nowhere are ample ;)
Possibly people with Virgin Media, BT tv, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video etc might not have Sky Q. (y)
Got the DM100 in silver, superb bit of one box solution kit for under 400 quid. I am probably going to invest in a sub to hook up to it though so I'd say it's a given anyone buying this smaller 55 would be well advised to factor that additional cost in if they buy it.
You seem to "know" an awful lot yet don't understand advertising jargon. Show me a single electronic product that doesn't claim meaningless ambiguity in its publicity. All manufacturers use meaningless jargon, statistics and claims. This doesn't claim to be a surround sound amplifier. It does claim to replicate in some way the surround experience by using its numerous tweeters in clever ways. But then again, your response is destined to be "I Know" as you seem to already know everything anyway. Perhaps don't comment if you already know the answers?
I know :)
If you want more bass it has a sub output!
4" ! Massive !
You struggle to see my point? I guess it's fine if you only want the product for two years. Are you assuming you get a new 2 year warranty on each replacement? As far as I'm aware this doesn't happen. I prefer products of this value to last longer. It seems like all of them will eventually develop this fault. Also, your comment on 'average rating' highlights the exact fault of relying on average ratings.
Strange comment considering the average rating out of 38 reviews is 4 stars. The seven 1-star reviews all refer to issues that became apparent whilst covered by the two-year warranty. If buying from Richer Sounds, you get an instant new-for-old replacement or can get a refund so I really struggle to see your point.
Hope you didn't get the DM55
2 year warranty won't mean much when the DM55 seems to have an inherent fault. Look at the one star reviews on Amazon.
I am torn between the two, haven't decided yet which one to get. How is your set-up? Is the front of the sound-base facing you when you watch tv (assuming you have the tv on top)? My tv is on left side wall in relation to my sofa, so I have to swivel it in order to watch and I wonder if this would affect the sound from the Canton (as it wont be turning with the tv).
Put a bluray player as a source for content and I would imagine you'll be blown away by the difference.
I've got the LG HT805 5.1 dvd that i've had for years. so hopefully these would be an improvement. I was looking at the Q Acoustics 3000 with TXNR646 but it's a bit out of my range.
Thats can be very subjective ,what one person deems great will be average or poor to another. someone with their first setup it will likely sound amazing if coming from the sound from a regular tv , but for someone having owned a system like this for while would demo a more expensive set and realise just how much better they are.... And then there are the room acoustics ,furniture ,wallpaper, carpet floors vs wooden and so on which all play a part in how a speakers actually sound in your home..
Thanks for posting. I'm clueless on these things but notice these are discontinued elsewhere, and they entered the market in 2011 (just a guess as that's when the reviews I'm reading are from) Wondering if the low end systems of today will beat this previously good system? Not being negative about the deal - I may end up buying a set if anyone can advise on my concerns! Thanks
Thanks. I am after something that will sound good with music aswell as films.
Look at the more buying option from Amazon.de currently out-of stock but will ship once available.. 197€ with €10 for shipping..
40 euro shipping put me off
Ok, if you look at the buying options there is a cheap (€198) option with a €10 delivery charge. Works out approx £150 all in. Heat added!
40 Euro shipping
I've got the black Denon one which was £125 on recent lightening deals and I've been amazed with the quality. optical from TV and learning TV/Sky volume controls avoids the need for another remote for most of the time.
£121 a pair currently on Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canton-InCeiling-865-DT-Speaker/dp/B005SRAQW2
Got 2 pairs delivered at £155.03 a pair from Planet Gizmo
Best to use a clarity card and pay in euros
Great piece of kit.. Bought mine last week for the same price. Then it was £399 on Amazon, not too sure now tho. Made a massive difference to the sound of my TV. Great investment for my set up. Looks great too although slightly on the large side.
DM 75 is also worth a look at around £25 more . . .
Comment Canton directly. Forgot to reply and entered an new post below.
I was outside the 30 day Amazon return period so I emailed canton asking how to correct the error - got the address from their website (my DM50 lost power/sound with a low level red LED on). They sent me a link to print a DHL self service prepaid label and I dropped it to the post office. 2 weeks later, a new unit arrived. They will want it packed with remote and proof of purchase.
Mines arrived. Perfect condition and works great. No issues. What a wonderful bit of kit it is and a proper GermanHotDeal. Thanks OP
Yes somehow I've missed your comment. Mine goes to standby every 3-4 minutes now and it gets quite hot at the back right hand side. Did you do it via amazon or dealt with Canton directly?
Comment Yes. They did with mine.
Great news illy as I've just bought one
one of the clients i do work for has one of these, was very impressed by it when he gave me a demo
Great unit, decent price!
I was looking at getting this but went for the Cambridge audio minx TV instead. It got 5 star reviews on what HiFi too. I really wanted the canton but couldn't justify paying double the price! This is a decent saving though, couldn't find it discounted anywhere when I was looking
True, but if you read the What Hifi reviews, they weren't impressed with the Denon - http://www.whathifi.com/review/denon-dht-t100 And the Maxell is just ridiculously big - almost a metre wide! Each to their own though
Its a saving on RRP, granted, but still considerably more expensive than the Denon and Maxell equivalents, both well reviewed.
Why is this cold?
would these be a good partner for this https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/teac-agd200-7-1-av-receiver-99-95-richersounds-poss-89-95-with-vip-newsletter-sign-1419849 or the other set i was thinking of was the Boston Acoustic soundware xs
