I haven't voted hot or cold, but would like to add that this isn't a price comparison site. Even if this is the cheapest deal for this car, some of the cold voters might still feel a better car can be had for the money.

You haven't cleared up any misconceptions, it sounds like you waste a lot of money.

Not really, check your insurance if you knowingly go above your milage stated your insurance is a) invalidated b) may involve you paying a high premium if you have a crash

Am i missing something? Description states 12000 miles but the deal shows only 8000.... Edit: Nevermind, I've figured out that you meant 12k over 18 months. It's a bit misleading though as lease mileage is usually stated per annum.

I'm sure that for this specific model, the lease is competitively priced. To get good value in leasing, you need to choose models with special offers on, usually models due to be replaced.

I would imagine deals on them will be coming and going on a monthly basis right up until August or so, maybe a touch longer. You might wish to add it to your "keep an eye on it" list and see who is offering what, and where. There's also some deals around the £200 pcm mark on the Astra SRI 150 NAV which may persist for a while.

Rubbish. If you're leasing, there's a fair wear and tear policy they follow. Things such as minor scratches and minor dents that are under a certain measurement are classed as fair wear and tear, you get the booklet when you lease the car. Insurance wise, you may need to add gap insurance, but most decent insurers have this included for new cars.

I will never forget the drivers seat coming loose on my 206 while driving on the motorway and it was only 3 months old.

For something like this you are better buying a 6 month old one. And paying it off over 3 years. Payments will be less. And have something to show for it. Not against leasing but in the lower end of market it isn't worth it imo

I went to a dealer leasing Peugeot car on their Peugeot Passport scheme . He said I need to take more insurance to cover what my normal insurance would not cover. Otherwise when returning the car , Peugeot will charge big penalty for minor scratches etc which are inevitable from daily use over a year. Also big penalties for exceeding mileage. So be careful

Have had a look online and although most sites with the rc are in Europe. Standard price for the 1:18 is around £40. The 1:14 version is the toy of the year and has rrp of around £100... Very rare that an rc over £50 would take AA batteries. Naughty Asda if this is the 1:18 (does 7kph as compared to 24 for the larger version).

i had 3 as a child. One was a formula one looking car. Wired remote. forwards straight only, and then turned in reverse. I remember wandering around the house doing 12 point turns just to turn right. happy memories. :) Another was a big black pickup truck Mitsubishi/Daihatsu type thing. With an orange spotlight on the front and big chunky real soft rubber tyres. That thing climbed sand like crazy. The other was a 4x4 in light blue. had a trailer and was full remote control! If i remember correctly, it was a challenge Anneka/treasurehunt branded thing. I'd forgotten about all of those until this thread. isnt it crazy how a simple HUKD thread can bring back so many fond memories.

Me too, but I'm tied into a lease atm with a couple of years left! I'm tempted to give it a test drive but that will do more harm than good if I enjoy it :P I haven't had any experience with V4B personally, but there's been a few posts from there popping up recently and nobody's had anything bad to say about them, if that helps.

The more I look at this deal the more tempted I'm becoming. Test drove a 208 gti Peugeot sport at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised by it. Has a anyone here had any experiences with this company before?

Personal Lease deal and although not I'm a fan of Peugeots (or French brands in general) this seemed like a decent deal. Not often you get a car than can claim to do +60mpg (72 mpg… Read more

And you can sustain that higher mpg indefinitely? I doubt it... It's the major fault with the compulsory EC Fuel and Emissions Certification system. By EC law, manufacturers cannot publicise any other figures than those achieved in the certification tests. Obviously manufacturers optimise their cars to achieve the best possible results in the tests. There is no compulsion on them to ensure the cars will match these figures in real life. You will get better economy from a small low power and low torque engine like the 1.2 Puretech 130 I mentioned previously, running it on Shell V-Power because that is what all current engines are optimised on and the torque enhancement has a greater effect on a low torque engine enabling shorter shifting and less time in low gears.

Claimed MPG is the MPG you could achieve in ideal conditions, I've always managed to get better MPG than claimed in any car when things go right. Common sense will tell you that you are not going to get as good MPG if you head into heavy stop start traffic uphill with a cold engine. If car A claims 75MPG in ideal conditions vs car B that claims 55MPG, then generally you will find that Car A will usually return better MPG than car B in most situations. There is little point in trying to measure "real-world" consumption figures, because everybody has different real-worlds. Especially those people who can't drive properly, we've all seen them constantly on the brakes, these are the first to moan about "claimed MPG". I can't understand why people moan about claimed MPG, do people seriously expect a deterministic measurement?
