Wouldn't shock me if it enters the vault in April along with FIFA 18. Would make them more money as suddenly the game is in the collection of the million or so ea access subscriber's and that means even more money spent on the microtransactions.

Might want to boycott them, then. Check out FIFA18 Ultimate Team, UFC3. …Might want to boycott them, then. Check out FIFA18 Ultimate Team, UFC3. P2W all the way over there. One of EA's head people is on record as saying that they are looking for ways to implement that sort of stuff in their games. SWBF2 is probably one of their first iterations of it. Not sure what's happening with their latest Need for Speed - apparently the loot box stuff was being changed.Still there is this rumour about Lucasfilm dumping EA Personally, I don't believe maps (at least multiplayer maps) should be sold via DLC, as it separates the online community. Definitely no maps should be available via loot boxes.I honestly don't think cosmetics should be available via crates either - if anything, they should just be available in an online store, you buy what you want, rather than preying on people who have addictive personalities and gambling issues. I'm on Jim Sterling's side of the fence for this one

Thanks for the info. Only really play sw or other fpshooters. Agree in particular with your last paragraph
Thanks to the OP for this. I picked up the 1st game for about £10 and me and the 9yr old boy loved the split screen stuff. Wanted to get this for more split-screen variety (not bothered about the online multi stuff as I'm 46 and get battered!) so £20 seems reasonable. Managed to nab a copy last night from local PC World, so £30 for the two is more than fair.
Yep also seeing £29.99 online for both formats. Expire the thread and the usual posts.
£29.99 now. Was going to pick it up on my way home from work today but I'll just wait till somewhere else has it for £20 or less

Good game that was improved today with the latest patch. Season 2 coming soon that’s included in the price. Loot boxes still aren’t available to purchase in the store, progression is slow but ultimately the upgrades don’t make a real difference.
Great game, highly recommend.

Anyone surprised that big companies mainly just care about making money probably need to put the old controller down and have a look around the real world.

Yes, but EA are beening so blatant about it. Plus, I enjoy playing games. Games aren't a essential thing like gas, electric or petrol. I game to have fun. What do you mean but the old controller down? I'm not ignorant. And If I have a choice, would I use a service provider who I knew openly fleeced their customers. But like I said, people protested against EA. So, the customer does have some power. The bottom line is these companies can only get away with so much. There is only a certain amount of crap people of will take.

I told people every time that EA had promised they would be back, it said so in their initial statement about turning them off.
they would need to restructure the whole game system where any unlock that isn't cosmetic can be obtained without gambling or money involved, but that would screw over everyone who already has played the game, so because they have already done this they have opened pandora's box of vile business practices and now the public can't look them in the eye anymore for being too ashamed of what they are

The injustice of lost digital heat I don't vote on the battlefront …The injustice of lost digital heat I don't vote on the battlefront posts on here but people are justified in hating this game. Also EA is a cancer in the industry, they have a reputation of buying up developers, running them into the ground and finally closing them down.

You are entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that your opinion is wrong. The game is great, and was rightfully attacked for the p2w mechanic. They backed down and now any addition for micropayments will be cosmetic or just class upgrade shortcut packs for those that haven't played yet a la Battlefield (also an amazing DICE and EA game).

To then continue to deride the game despite new content and improvements to the metagame experience is lazy and as I say hive like in mindset. Think for yourself. EA is the Nickelback of gaming and popular to hate. I also dislike some of their practices. But they are a business. To try and impune some sort of puritanical moral heresy on them is far fetched.
Me I pay my £20 a year for EA access (absolute bargain for the back catalogue), and have paid for Battlefront and Battlefield on day one as I enjoy them immensely.

But then again, I think for myself. DICE is an amazing game studio, doing truly cutting edge things with the frostbite engine. To ignore that because of a moral crusade against EA is churlish at best.

I find this automatic cold voting on what is an awesome star wars game …I find this automatic cold voting on what is an awesome star wars game abhorrent and mob like in its justice. For that price it is a god damn steal and people will love the experience.

Or maybe the cold votes are because people don't think this is a good deal...
Good price- heat from me
Forgetting the fact that this is a battlefront post there does seem to be a lot of people just voting cold on here because they don’t like the product. Let’s remember this is a deals website. I posted a deal recently for mudrunner it turns out not a lot of people like the game however when I posted it there was nowhere cheaper you could get it. Did it go hot..... barely! This current practice is going to destroy the hotuk deals community and is making deal searching hard as good prices items are now not visible in the hot section.
With how bad this game is, esp for screwing over the single players again, think I'll wait til all DLC is out and then look at whats to offer. I remember seeing the first game with all DLC at £6 a year after release. Annoying that the trailer showed something like 18maps for offline modes and you get 6, no word of them being via DLC. Was the main reason my nephew got the game for his birthday as his not allowed the internet and was so upset to only see 6 maps. The game lacks serious replay. Its a simple task really, copy the original STBF2, but remaster it, add to it and you'd have an awesome game

Calm down Leepox, Stoofa clearly made an educated guess. And the fact that there is not one other person in here agreeing with you I would say its a problem that only affects a small number of users. Im about to buy a pro because my I have had to replace my regular PS4 twice. Im guessing Im an anomaly though, I accept that. And as for the cancer comment, what are you thinking? This is a thread to buy a playstation console.

Anyway Smyths have 11 pro consoles in Northern Ireland (white with Gran Turismo for £300) but its collect only. Might be of use to some, not to me sadly.

Bought one over xmas and all I've had with it has been constant blackouts when I put HDR on. I even bought a new TV (and additional huge expense) to pair it with to get the HDR experience but all I am getting have been sporadic blackouts that completely messes up the gaming experience. I just ended up wasting my money hoping that I will have no issues with HDR+4k. Head over to the playstation forums and this has been an ongoing issue since Nov 2016 still without a resolution. PS4 future owners be warned.

I know this is done now but please state the TV you are using which is causing your blackout's so i can avoid that TV.

That's why fake news is such a thing nowadays because of people like you. "Searching around in google" is not a valid argument either - any intellectual knows that unless you are they typical Sun newspaper reader, or if you are 12 years old, then i forgive you because obviously you still need to get more education - probably have a talk with your maths teacher. You know what - I was out.
However I refuse to be insulted by someone like you. You certainly don't know me and you are cetainly don't know my level of intelligence and education. How dare you sit there and pretend to know.
You sit there as a typical keyboard warrior, standing on their high tower with opinons, that if anybody disagrees with is obviously wrong.
If the actual figures are not available it is more than acceptable to make "reasonable assumptions" - if you want to talk further about this idea then I'm happy to take it offline. Something I've learnt during my education and work towards my two degrees (whilst holding down a full time job in the IT industry).
People don't want warning over "isolated cases" they want to be warned about real and credible problems - want to give me some figures yourself if you're so in the know? Tell me about all these people with the issue. How about we start with the number of people in the thread (singular) you've participated in about this issue, how many people said they ahve the problem?
Anyway, I will always defend myself from insults - if you want to throw more at me then I will answer them. If however you would rather not hear from me again (as I don't you) then it's best not to throw any in my direction.
If you want the last word, go for it - I won't be replying any further, unless you decide to insult me further.
Take care out there - the world is real and you won't be as safe as you are right now behind your keyboard.

You've decided this is a serious issue hence your "warning to future owners".I've attempted to put a far more realistic view on the situation, that you are definitely in the minority - you'd think that some press would have picked up on the issue if the majority of PS Pro owners (that would be 51%) are having this problem you describe. If even 10% of owners were having an issue then they would be making enough noise to make somebody interested. A quick search around reveals that this issue is certainly not widespread. In answer to your question - yes, I'm making up figures in an attempt to help you understand that you are not experiencing the same as the majority of Pro owners. That your issue, despite being annoying I'm sure is certainly not as widespread as you feel it is.Anyway, I'm out. Good luck in finding the issue.

Campaign was awful. Boring. Galactic Assault and fighter squadron is fun. Heroes vs villain is disappointing. BF 1 HvV mode was better. It is worth 23 pounds.
Have it, it's a good game, though play mainly bf1.

Its not p2w, and with minimal time investment have a few cards that allow me to be competitive.
Wasn't going to get this because of all the pay2win nonsense but got it as a present at Christmas so thought I'd give it a go and I'm actually really enjoying it. I've only played multiplayer for a few hours here and there but already built up enough credits to unlock the 2 most expensive heroes (Vader & Luke) and there's only a few more to unlock so not sure where the 9 months grinding info came from? Also I'm finding with very few upgrades I'm able to compete with people who have higher rated star cards. It's definitely not the disaster I was led to believe.

This is a weird way of looking at it. The grind is implemented entirely to …This is a weird way of looking at it. The grind is implemented entirely to sell said loot boxes, not the other way around as much as EA would have you believe. Most games like this don't require such ridiculous amounts of time to unlock items (originally 60hrs for a single character I believe?) And they have since been altered since Disney stepped in and the loot boxes were removed so it could have been done in the first place. Also, campaigns by their nature can be stopped and started at your own leisure, I'm not sure people complaining about such an obvious abuse of power is a fair comparison to people complaining about a short (and poor by all accounts) campaign. It's a mute point now anyway, it seems this game is half way buried already sadly. Here's to hoping that either EA do the next one properly, or somebody else can.

I get the grind was made to last longer to encourage people to buy loot boxes . And it was worked out at 40hours for Vader or Luke others half that but from playing it the maths was wrong and even before the amount was lowered it would have took ten hours tops took me 3 hours when when it's 15000 credits required when before it was 40000 .
And the campaign wasn't to bad if I'm honest and has since had extra missions added.

Also these people that don't have the time to grind are the ones that also complain that the campaign is two short ?

This is a weird way of looking at it.
