The first Mirrors Edge is probably in my top 10 games of all time. Second game was enjoyable but no way near as good. Agreed with the comments about the sand-box experience not really suiting the game. The first game is shorter and each level feels like you are running a defined route but it was very well thought out and each level seemed to have an epic moment that made it exciting (like jumping to the helicopter and seeing your reflection in the windows). I had the Stay Alive soundtrack on my iPod and used to listen to it loads.
Yep I liked the more linear story games that didn't involve back tracking and travelling across cities. The only exception for me is the Batman games. I loved them.
I think this is on ea play incase anyone else actually has a subscription like I have.. .
Starting to hate how almost every big game is open world these days (annoyed)
Same, I found having to re-tread the same routes over and over again a little dry. But it still has the atmosphere and the mechanics that made the first one so great, so I'd still hugely recommend fans of the first to give it a go.

Top man, currently downloading now!
When adding the card as a payment method on PSN ensure you are using your UK billing address for the card (the only thing you won't be able to change is the country) and also try omitting the letters from your post code, if that fails omit the numbers instead.
I've set one up, but getting the check your details error, wonder what i'm doing wrong

Very strange sale. Pretty sure I bought FarCry 3 for 3.99 a few months ago. Dead Rising Triple bundle on sale but the individual games aren't. Bad play. The only one I'm interested in would be DR2 + DLC.
Anyone reckon the Crash N-Sane trilogy is going to go down anytime soon? Been keeping an eye out but seems to be sticking in price...
Might be the worst for me but heat for effort
Just Cause 3 - XXL Edition for under £4 isn't bad. It will run smoothly on PS5 according to Digital Foundry

I have very strong VR legs but this could be the game that'd test me :).
A friend of mine could even play the standard Mirrors Edge because he said it made him feel sick. He said he hasn't had that problem with any other games. I played through the original Mirrors Edge 3 times. There is quite a lot of filler in the game where you are just climbing up pipes or scaffolding slowly but the open play on the rooftops is sensational and very much worth it. Combat was terrible but just a small part of the game. I did the playthrough where you don't shoot anyone (except sniping the truck which you have to do).
The concept has always sounded fantastic, just can't imagine not being feeling sick. Mirrors Edge is all about the motion and I think the disconnect will be too much.
I'm gonna try to pluck up the courage to play it in VR, apparently it's class :).
I am a HUGE fan of the first Mirrors Edge. I loved the free running and really get the feels whenever I think back to the air whooshing past you when you hit a certain speed. The song Still Alive always shows up in my "Most Played Songs" list on Spotify. I bought Mirrors Edge Catalyst and I did enjoy it but no way near as much. It's an open world game and I don't think the free running works as well in that format. In the first Mirrors Edge each level had an awesome bit in it such as jumping to the helicopter or sliding down a building and crashing through the glass but didn't get the same feeling in Catalyst.
Excellent game. Wonderful visuals and music. Exploration, combat and narrative are improved over the original. You can filter each activity type on the map if you don’t care about them like the repeatable tasks for example. Definitely recommend it.
Excellent game, the free-running can feel very therapeutic.
£1.36 on Turkey PSN. Think I'll buy for the price of not even a coffee...!
Does it have VR support
Never played but I listen to the soundtrack on Spotify every week while working. 5 hours of glorious minimal electronic music by Solar Fields.
Agree, always thought it'd be a perfect candidate for VR. However after trying VR I think the motion sickness would be quite severe. Plus I hope you're not scared of heights. The recent episode of A League of Their Own with Jamie on the plank was hilarious
You can pre order on Turkish PSN for £10.50 (if you have PS+). Would like to see play length but for a tenner seems a good buy
nah October 27th is the official date, don’t think the cracked pc version is complete either

I purchased it 3 years ago on Steam, Origin has been a thing longer than that and still is :|
You don’t?! No way!
Yep. I might even buy this just so I don't need Origin to launch it anymore.
Was removed for a while when origin was a thing no?

You do get a discount on Xbox One. I think that must be a limitation of the PlayStation Store. Anyway, it has been cheaper on PS4 before. £3.99 I recall.
Think it's usually fairly cheap around this price when most deals pop up. The EA Access thing is a strange way to word it though. Can see this or Mass Effect being a PS+ game eventually, seeing as Star Wars is now in.
You don’t save any extra with ea access, it’s just worded poorly on the site, in fact you can’t buy any ea games included in the ea access whilst subscribed. The extra off is their way of saying it’s free with access
isn't it free on EA access? so the discount seems a bit of a waste of time. Otherwise, I think £4.49 is about the cheapest it's been.
Heat super fun game

It was later patched to support dynamic resolution, but still a far cry from what it looks like on pc! I own the game for ps4+xb1 and I'm hoping the latter will look and run really good on Xbox Series X, since they said they're adding X-enhancements for select Xbox One. I hope mirror's edge catalyst gets chosen just as the original mirrors edge did to run in 4k.
It's a shame that it's not X enhanced. 900p, so it's a really soft image that detracts from the experience. (Especially coming from native 4K on PC 😝)
Guess it depends how keen you are to get on it. For me, I'm always paying for Gold tho now its Xbox Ultimate pass so unless I want to play it today, I'll hold off for it being added to GWG.
People have been saying that for years now.
will also most likely be free on GWG at some point since the first has been free
Just a thought. Why do I find this GAME in https://www.hotukdeals.com/tag/furniture What has it got to do with FURNITURE. Other than jumping all over it perhaps??? Good old HUKD effed up SEARCH function may be responsible possibly, nothing new there then....
Nothing could ever match up to the brilliance of the first Mirror's Edge... Still in love with that game. Didn't really find the same charm in this one.
ok thanks that's good to know, will give this a miss. It's not like I don't have a stack of great games to play
no, it really isn't. I did like the first one and loved the music but this one sat in my pile of shame from it was released until about 2 weeks ago when I finally got round to playing and finishing it. It's best to just do the story and ignore all of the other side stuff. Looks nice and all but ending wasn't great and as I said it wasn't a patch on the first game
It's ok but the first one is better, I think trying to make mirrors edge somewhat open world was a let down, a linear story with chapters is more suited to this type of game IMO. Hopefully if they make this series a trilogy they'll go back to the style of the first game.
I actually played and completed it last week, It's not a patch on the first one and neither is the music but it's still not bad. Ending wasn't great, everything looks really nice though even 3 and a half years after release (I played on a PS4 Pro) . It's also best to just do the story and ignore all of the side mission stuff
Downloaded this on EA Access and it's sitting in my backlog Anyone know if it's as good as the first one? I remember this one getting negative reviews but can't remember why.
Just for info, its included with EA access if you happen to have a subscription to that. Heated this deal
This isn't a sequel to Mirror's Edge, it's sort of a reboot. Doesn't have the same flow as the original and the story is different. The music and aesthetic are both still brilliant though and it's fairly fun, especially if you're a fan of the first game but you're not expecting this to perfectly recapture that. It's also quite short, though at this price that's hardly an issue.
Great game. Alas I'm so bad at it it's embarrassing (embarrassed)
Great price, its £1 more on simplygames if you want a boxed copy and enjoy filing your nerd shelf like I do

I loved the first one and have played it many times since it's release on consoles and PC. The art style the music and the quite linear progression that never really felt restrictive but above all the world and its story. The second one is a ubified open world collect radiotowers and shizzle. It got rid of nearly all that made the first one great and replaced it with mediocrity. It's not bad per se, I dare say a fair waste of time just not good let alone in comparison to it's earlier part.
This one is still enjoyable but things like quick turn you have to unlock later. To me the controls are more forgiving and it looks great. The environments aren't as diverse as the first game (loved the subway and that tall construction tower) and the challenges are a lot of fun. This is a good price for a Blu-ray copy (it has been £3.99 on Argos before but this is probably new old stock). Recommend grabbing the free dynamic theme for a bit of Solar Fields on your home screen too.
I never played the first game, but I had this when it first came out and I really enjoyed it. It got me into the band Churches, who did the main theme for the game - CHVRCHES Warning Call.
I liked the first one on PC and never got round to buying this one. Not sure as it’s reviews weren’t that good and kinda flew under the radar when it released. Anyone recommend it for the time it takes to play?
