oh thank you very much for the information and Ive never heard of jack spade ffb files so I will be keen to look in to that too. Thank you

Its awesome mate. Im a fan of AC (which blew pc1 into the weeds) but PC2 really is very good. Its full of flaws, but the day/night and weather cycles are incredible and some of the cars are fantastic to drive (just make sure to use jack spade ffb files) Plus it has the TWR220s and RS200 in it. Worth 50quid just to drive them 2 legends. It also strikes a great balance between casual and hardcore - advanced enough to be fun and challenging but not so realistic you need days setting a car up before an online race.

You may struggle with a steam controller but, hey, I’ve not tried it on these. These are sims rather than “games”, especially AC. Neither have great career modes. PC2 is better for that tho. AC “2” is supposed to be on its way soon - can’t remember its official name. If you want “arcade” is go Forza 7 or Forza horizon (non steam). Check they support the steam controller though as they are picky. Unfortunately my old FFB wheel doesn’t like PC2 (it crashed) and has to run AC on 32bit mode. Forza won’t even see it.

Thanks OP 8) This website reliable, never heard of them before? Does it activate on Steam?

You should see my exclusive square store ones! £200 Kingdom Hearts Collectors Edition and £180 Tomb Raider Collectors Edition.

Looking at your preorders, I should apologise. This conversation should've never been started. (embarrassed)

I hardly ever buy pre-owned games because I get most of mine on release day. Mostly collectors editions. I very rarely get standard editions. Only if theirs no other version. Lol

Thanks for all your help guys! Just a shame PS4 doesn't really have a similar recent driving game. Looks like I'll have to check something out like the crew 2, albeit, that seems a bit out there with the boats etc

I don't think you'll like Project Cars 2 then as you can't really just hop into an online game, you can't join a race in progress and generally need to do qualifying first to get the feel of the car and track, at times just getting round the track at a reasonable speed without spinning off is an achievement. I spent 15 minutes in qualifying and was pleased to qualify 12th out of 20+ cars (normally at the back) only for this to happen at the start:

Much more of a sim than FM7. I find it almost impossible with a controller but have friends who are fast using them. Great with a wheel. Not really a pick up and play kind of game, needs effort but a good game nonetheless. Immense number of tracks and road conditions. Plenty of cars.

This is more akin to F1 game very in-depth if you want it that way can also be picked up and played, shame you don't have an Xbox as there is a free trial on the MS store...

Thanks. I think the thing in GT I didn't like was the offline modes were dry, and the online I didn't like all the qualifying etc. I quite like to be able to just go online into a race and then that's that. Maybe I'm a minority!!

Most of PC1's DLC came in the first 12 months. And my point is that for £13, just get this instead. It's such an improvement on the 1st game.

Much easier I would say- no need to mess around with the controller configuration either :)

Is this any easier to use with a controller than the first game? The first game was horrific on a controller compared to other car racing sims

It's not irrelevant when you have the first one and not the second one :/ Project Cars had 3 years of DLC, there isn't much DLC for the 2nd game yet as it's only been out 9 months.

PC2 makes the first game irrelevant. It's better in every way. There hasn't been much DLC either and the existing content is more than you're ever likely to need. Best track list of any racing sim by far and tons of variety in cars.

Much prefer gran Turismo to this. Played it early on and not sure if it's been updated since. But the driving physics are a bit off. Not realistic. They over exaggerated some physics to make the game more difficult. Great race mode though. Starting off with karts then moving to faster stuff. That part of the game is very good.

Project Cars 2 PC 60% off on Steam - £18 Just bought a copy.. Wasn't willing to pay full price, but seems good at 60% discount Back on again as part of the steam summer sale!

Le Mans DLC pack is just out if that's your thing, I was having a spin round the track in the TS050 last night although it took me a few laps to realise you need to press a separate button to activate KERS.

Purchased, thank you.

Seems like a decent deal, similar cost to buy this version preowned on disc. Deal ends 23/05/2018 at midnight.

I preferred drive club but it's still a good racing SIM, still think both are not as good as Forza 6 or 7.

The screen tear is hugely noticeable in this game, even after all the patches I found it to spoil the game, I can handle wonky frame rates but screen tear is no go.

The new one beats it in every regard in my view.

As cheap as it's ever been.

Good price for a top game, certainly better than the sequel that's for sure.

I agree with big Mike. PC2 is such a huge improvement its not worth buying PC1. AC is currently cheap on steam, this makes way more sense than PC1 (it just lacks the prettyness and dynamic weather of pc2 but is atleast its equeal elsewhere)

some games stay relevant when their sequels come out however imo pCARS is not such a game. the 2nd game has pretty much all the content of the 1st and is improved in just about every area. i am not gonna vote cold as it is a lot of game for the price i guess, but if it were me I would save your pennies and put towards buying pCARS2. i have both, i will never play pCARS1 again!.

Not even PC2? Considering the amount of bugs still in this game, it should be £5 or less by now.

I did the original Project Cars fundraiser thing on PC and was pleasantly surprised by how well they converted it to PS4. This on the other hand looks like garbage against the original on the PS4. I swear it looks about the same level as GT Sport and Dirt Rally do in VR mode. . Can't deny it's a good price. Going to have upgrade my PC now I've played the PSVR though. VR is the future for driving games and I need a whole new pc tbh if I want games look the way I want.

Is this worthwhile on a PS4 pro graphics wise?

Is this better than driveclub?

It was visually well below the standard of the first game at launch. There's been a huge improvement after several large patches.

Damage is realistic in that you suffer mechanical issues if you drive it like a dodgem. Not much visual damage though. It's more realistic a game than Gran Turismo.

How is the damage in this game and how does the realistic simulation side of it compare to GT

What was wrong with it?

Intriguing! Yours truly was 'involved' in the original, possibly appearing twice in the credits. Ahh fond memories... ;)

While this is a good deal all thing considered, if you are new to the Project Cars (PC) you may want to stay away from this one. PC (1) is known to be a better than Project Cars 2, I am taking sound, graphics, gameplay smoothes and a bit more foregiving handling. If you hate yourself and have got PC (1) already, go for it and get the second one :)

Very good game but also quite annoying at times. Still a little bit buggy on PS4 in places. Recommend at that price

PCARS 2 is such a good upgrade from PCARS1. They've really listened to the community here and if you're worried about not being able to compete without having a wheel you needn't worry. They've really fixed the controller input on PCARS2, its actually enjoyable now to play with a controller as theyve improved it 1000% over the first game.

It's been around this price for a while at amazon hasn't it?

If you are on the fence about this and didn’t mind waiting, Amazon seemed to lower the price of the collectors edition for £45-50. This includes the season pass. It’s higher now, but might be worth monitoring. For what it’s worth, I think this is a great game (y)

A beast of a PC for the recommended specs. Over £1000 worth.

yeh i spent a while figuring out if it was worth it. In the end im a car sim guy so bit the bullet. But yes its not very clear what your getting. And its bad times when a token for a possible future addon and a couple of extra cars costs as much as the core game. I like the game tho, certainly much better than PC1, although I wouldnt bet on it against AC in a fight. Need to turn off that annoying pit monkey to.

The choice is yours. That what this forum has been aiming for all those years - better, more affordable money burning ways. :D

Personally I am not affiliated with this project and haven’t bought game yet. It is possible that some marketing tactics were employed :D That is what different between those 2 according to their website not steam: The Standard Edition includes: The Full Game The Deluxe Edition Includes: The Full GameThe Season PassThe Motorsports Pack, featuringJaguar E-Type V12, Group 44Panoz Esperante GTR-1Audi V8 DTMOpel Astra TCR

Also the Deluxe edition is available at CD Keys for £34.99 which sounds the better deal to me as that effectively gives you the season pass for £12.50 over this price. I think I'll wait a while for further price drops.

DLCs are included on the disc, so even a preowned copy would give you all the content. Cheapest I've seen this to go for.

Deeky, as always, you're a gent (y)

Driveclub isn't hardcore, it's more arcade than simulation. There's no tuning to worry about. There's Rocket League, which gets great reviews, although it isn't really a racing game. Then there's Table Top Racing, which MSK played to death whilst I wasn't that keen. That's like Micro Machines, although I suspect that's a bit before your time :D I'd go with Driveclub for now and see how he goes with that. For £5 -odd you can't really go wrong. Have a look at this, it may help. Sorry I can't be more help, I haven't played many driving games on the PS4 because I'm put off by mediocre review scores, whereas an 8 year old isn't interested in that so long as it's fun.

deeks, what are some good casual racing games on the ps4? its for my lad who is 8 so hardcore racing game is not something he will like. need a list of about 3 and then i'll hit ebay to find a bargain. he's got wipeout but he wants a car game not flying ships LOL

Is all of the content disc based with this edition, no extra codes, passes etc required? I mean ALL of it, I want ALL the cars etc. I have the original disc but this is cheaper than the season pass.

+1 for that, still playing it now. It's hugely playable with a controller - actually a great deal more difficult using a wheel (but more fun) - great selection of cars and a superb community / online challenge mode. The post-launch support it got from the developers was exemplary.

Just bought this game (Not from this site, found it by chance) @ this price it's a good buy. I was going to add this deal before I searched 😁 I was miffed however by the way the makers sold a lot of us testing pcars 1 with a lot of tracks/features/cars from pcars 2. The final game in the original pcars was missing a lot of stuff that we thought was included when we signed up for alpha/beta testing. But anyway this game is what Pcars the original should have been, it's got everything including rallycross etc. After some fine tweaking with my Ati xfire cards I got my triple monitor setup running sweet ! I will say that Pcars 2 (and the original Pcars) is the only top end racing game that will use near 100% of my two Ati gfx cards, all other racing games, for me at least, are not as well optimized. Good deal, heat added

Also run this on an Oculus Rift with a G27 and GTX1070. Fantastic VR experience. Better optimized than the first PCars which really helps keep close to that magic 90fps.

thanks for the advice all, bit the bullet and purchased, though its difficult to justify buying these games and then installing on an ssd given the cost, or should they be on hdd
