Really impressed with it so far. Runs acceptably well on my 2700 & 1070. Though I've only just completed the prologue.

Levy2805

That's true. I played it on the ps4 THIS year and still found some bugs...

I was referring to how poorly optimised the game is. It plays pretty bad on a lot of pc’s

Great on PC, can't imagine this is easy on console though.

KeanuReaves

There are lots of details and a perfect feel of history when playing Kingdom Come since it represents an existed real period in Europe - Kingdom of Bohemia. The combat isn't no-brainer so you have to get a hang of it and takes a while to master but it gets really addicting and satisfying, I'm also confident to say that this game is really immersive. The story, atmosphere, details, difficulty is all great about this game, it's of medieval age and it shows that perfectly. One thing which might drag you down is some bugs lingering there and there, but they aren't huge and it didn't bother me, it's still definitely worth playing and you are going to find yourself wanting to play more.

ccmitchell78

To be fair being on game pass probably reduces it's value at retail so not a surprise that they go on sale when they hit the service.

luckyfives

Reviews on gp say the ui is shockingly bad, is it worth a go?

Both sky force games on Xbox I never considered buying until I played them on game-pass and then bought each of them when in a sale knowing that the “leaving day” would eventually happen. Game-pass is perfect for giving games a go that you would not normally consider “liking”(y)

Cheap prices because just been in humble monthly. Not a bad game, not an easy game either which is good as it punishes you for getting beat and often beats you early game to prove a point rather than just "you died, reload save and try again".

My mate has just bought this and got beaten to death for laughing at a NPC and then said he burned to death trying to buy coal........sounds awesome! May buy at this price even though I am already backlogged.

Fantastic game. I'm just done completing it, and now on Prey (2017). KCD has some of the best level design I've ever seen. It looks stunning on Ultra with HD textures. Oh look, Henry's come to visit us :)

Re: Combat I just ended up getting a high damage sabre and just stabbed at everything - seemed to work well enough!

ayerz4291

Ahh I'd love to get this and try to get into it again. I loved everything except the combat, I struggled so much with it. I managed to beat the first boss, Runt, and then just didn't have the will to continue. I've always regretted giving it up because every other aspect of the game I just adored. Anyone else in the same boat? I know it's probably just me being rubbish at the combat but for the life of me I just couldn't get used to it.

eskimosnow

All the DLC is on the disc bar one thing and that's included in a game update which is (obviously) downloaded for free.

This is a must buy! The best game I have played in years. Very unique style and characters are so realistic it made me relate to them a lot. This beats Witcher3, if you have the nerves to pass the first hour of the game. The learning curve is steep. But the story is fantastic. I really hope to see the sequel of this one day...

Each to their own, but just because it isn't instantly gratifying, doesn't make it poorly designed. The combat is supposed to be difficult at first. You try swinging a sword about for the first time and see how well you do. I disagree that it's 70 hours of fetch quests. Did you play it through? I do agree the voice acting isn't great, but hey that tends to reflect in budgets. I thought the story was great personally. Yeah TW3 is one of my favourite if not my most favourite game. However, comparing the two is just stupid. One's fantasy, the third in a series, had a huge budget and it's created by a highly regarded AAA dev. The other is a crowdfunded game, made by a new studio and is set in factual medieval Bohemia. But if you wanna say "1/10, not 'nuff dragons, why's it not Skyrim?" You do you, pal.

Grafix

Brought the pc version of this the other week for £18 and I am about 8 hours in so far and liking it although I don't think combat is it's strongest point.

Mark_Brazier

Pretty terrible game design then isn’t it if the game is so mind numbingly boring that most people tap out before the prologue finishes. A massive failure in fact, for something that is meant to be entertainment. Perhaps they should have named it “Medieval peasant simulator 1349” or “Skyrim without any of the interesting stuff”. The voice acting and writing are terrible. It’s 70 hours of fetch quests in a bland vast open world with clunky combat. It’s just a terrible game. My advice for people considering this, play the Witcher 3. If you’ve already played it and are hungry for more medieval open world RPG action, play the Witcher 3 again and really appreciate a masterpiece of writing, a very fun game with a rich, immersing world.

jimbob5

Played this game from start to finish and loved it. I need to move on to the DLC now. As others have said, you need to devote time to training with the various weapons, fights are not fun without leveling up each weapon proficiency and defence etc. Bernard is the man!

deal.finder.org

I like it and passed the prologue, just didnt have the time for it, will return to it one day.

jameshothothot

It is true I have been disappointed at the scarcity of combat but do love the way you take Henry up from nothing. But yeah things like practicing the lock pick repeatedly tp get stealth skill up to do the stealth kill was a bit of a grind! So maybe would prefer a slightly faster pace but really love the plot.

Wolfenstain

Sounds like you don’t appreciate how realistic the game is intended to be. It’s a long drawn affair but definitely worth it.

I've been watching a play through video as I figured I'd never find the time to play this properly. From this comment this sounds like a good decision. Still looks absolutely amazing and far more refined combat than skyrim. Not sure why this hasn't done better?

Uncommon.Sense

It's great isn't it, I love the fact it is a proper RPG where you start off useless at everything, and unless you spend time getting better then you stay useless. Played 100+ hours, and will go back again for more when I get the time. :)

I meant the other way round - was late. They confused historical accuracy with racism.

Racism with historical accuracy? I think you are the one who is confused. It did ok, but the save system and the minutiae of detail in it put off everyone but the hardcore RPG fan.

Weird, I was just thinking about this. Always looked pretty decent but sank like a stone because of confusing racism with historical accuracy if I recall... I take it this has all the dlc? Still a bit pricey for me...£19 mark and I'd give it a go
