I would have persisted with them to honour the deal. I believe your order is a contract if they have the product in stock even at a higher price they would have to honour it. I wouldn't have accepted the refund and would have got managers involved. But your right it's rubbish and unnecessary headache.

Cartridge tends to go down so much slower than CD.

This isn’t a Nintendo game, it’s Sega’s even though it has Mario… It’s usually that sports games once the season is over or the event has taken place tend to be heavily discounted. Not sure why this one isn’t. The other Tokyo 2020 game has halved in price.
