Really poor effort compared to the old wii versions though, very odd

GunMetal

Oooo what is this? Surely Sonic wins the 100m dash?

Steelchamp

Good price but this is posted from the US, so it's quite a long delivery time.

Mark_Hickman

Does anyone know did this get an update since release or is it still a terrible disappointment ?

mrxboxps3

Wait for the patch to update it to 2021.

Good price for Mario & Sonic on Switch.
batdroid

Ouch!

Mark_Hickman

Yes i paid full price on pre order and turned it off after 10 minutes and its never been out since, maybe its had an update to improve it but i doubt it. Its single events, one at a time only then back to menu and thats it, no group events anything to collect points and play against each other competitively like other Olympic games, very disappointing

batdroid

That bad?

Markusdragon

Well at least somebody went to the games this year

Mark_Hickman

Absolutely terrible game not worth £14.99 let alone 35

For US eshop its easier to buy US eshop gift cards and then top up your US account. Think you can buy from Amazon.com, Eneba , playasia heres a link somebody posted from another thread: https://www.play-asia.com/digital/nintendo_eshop/14/711z7#fc=v:4

Really want to get this as on the boys Santa list, however, I can't get it to work despite reading the useful link. I can change account to a US account but when I try and buy something it won't let me use a credit card or paypal because in a different country - any one manage to do this and if so how??

kyeung

Yes, I play on a UK console. I use different accounts for different regions as I don't want risk losing credits for a particular region. You can just change region on your account. Found a thread should explain in more details otherwise youtube / google will have many guides. Sorry can be a in depth topic and I don't want you to risk losing any credit you may have on UK eshop: https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/buying-nintendo-switch-games-from-a-foreign-nintendo-eshop-2920694

brightsadie

Will this work in the UK if bought on the US site? Im guessing I will have to create an account on the US site aswell. Would be grateful for any advice.

My son convinced my wife I wanted this for Christmas last year. I’ve barely touched it. Not that I was expecting much but it’s not great. Basically a set of mini games. Would recommend Mario Party over this.

Aerobiz

Honestly, I was so disappointed with this. The events are so short, repetitive and just not fun to play. The controls are awful! There's no proper multiplayer mode either, in terms of sitting around the couch and playing for medals. It's just one off events every time. The single player mode is decent enough, with the 2D events being the most fun. But overall, it's just not worth the price at all. I paid £35 on release date from Tesco.

paulrwarner

The 2021 version will be better (lol)

lxx

Animal crossing is now £31.99 too, after the code. The cheapest I've seen.

Cheeseoid

I think this will go cheaper yet. It's been out for ages and it's Sega made not nintendo so it has a chance

Really terrible game, not worth £20. The game is just a bunch of single events with no real purpose.

chaymation

Sad that Sonic and Mario were the only ones to make it to the Games this year.

aing69

I assume this will be re-released next year, with additional COVID19 checks incorporated???

spencerasmith

Good price but I was really unimpressed by tis game after loving the Wii version a few years back

At least someone is :)

tech3475

TBH it was more of a joke.

rko_jpl7

I doubt Sega is bothered considering they are releasing the other Tokyo 2020 Olympic Video game later this year on all current consoles and PC.

I think shaming is a bit excessive? I’d rather spend £36 on something else, but glad you enjoy. (confused)

AndrewRunagall

So why are you shaming all those who do want to play it?
