Probably a bit of all of this except the last I reckon. They probably made them in small batches as weren't sure how popular they would be, add to that people picking the game up cheap now and those wanting to add to extensive collections they hold. I don't think trade in prices of most things are very good these days, unless you have something extra rare (which is almost certainly better off selling on eBay, Gumtree or Facebook), it isn't even worth the journey most of the time. Just look at the starter pack pricing at CeX, they buy the PS4 version for £2 cash or £4 trade, and Xbox One version for £1.30 cash or £2 trade. Unless you live virtually opposite the store, it is hardly worth carting the box and contents half way round the city for that sort of money. Then look at this pack for example, they'll give 20p cash or 40p trade.

I really don't get the pricing with Starlink - The starter packs have bombed (I just ordered the xbox one to go with my switch for the base ship model for £8) but the prices of the ships hasn't really changed but stock is drying up (Argos and Smyths only have about 3 ships models left in stock but not widely available). I was expecting a lot of cheap ships/weapons/characters to be hitting CEX about now so I could pick up some more but they are basically new price once shipping is included. Did they not make that many or are people collecting them now? Or do kids just not trade in now? Or is it still too early?

Coming in at £3.99

I get what you're saying. Let Amazon rule the world through no fault of their own! (poo)

And again I say none of that is Amazon’s problems, it’s for the spineless governments to do something about it. If you get a largesse you’d be silly to decline it, no? ;)

Yeah but Amazon receives millions from the government for their internet services (look it up), they pay minimal taxes and have the financial backing to under price many competitors. It's like the corner shop competing with Asda?

Fair enough, but the onus is on the competition to provide a viable option, can’t blame amazon if the others can’t match their prices/services and overall experienc, can we?

It won't continue this way as once they have dominated the market and closed all competitors then they will be the ones setting the prices. No competition equals no competitive prices

Nice find @Chanchi32 (y) Don`t forget, it`s also £9.99 on Ebay for the Xbox One/PS4 if your local store is OOS.

I've unboxed the xbox copy, just haven't got to it yet - cheevos are life 😁

Just play the switch one. Great starfox game. Never changed from the arwing and fox

Been there done that, even got the extra pilot sets even though they were in ship sets to complete EVERYTHING (excited)

Thanks for this, reserved a copy for the Switch. Played at Comic Con and seemed quite fun, definitely worth a go for £10. Noticed a few of the extras are on sale too if people are interested (like weapons, pilots and ships).

Good price, ordered 2 of the ships which are in stock in my local (highfive)

Clocked the switch version it’s a lot of fun and well worth It at this price

It was £11.99, this is a quid drop in between £14.99 amd this price.

Slightly cheaper on Prime Day..but then it's been £10.99 since.. :)

I actually really like this game and have all the toys. Random info about it: -You can play through the whole game without buying any extra toys. -It's on PS4, XB1 and Switch. -Only the Switch version has the extra Starfox content (Arwing ship, Starfox cutscenes and dialogue, extra Starwolf missions). -Separate to this content and the free content updates, it has a paid Starfox DLC on Switch. -You get a different ship with the PS4 and XB1 versions, you get the Arwing ship and a digital version of the PS4/XB1 ship with the Switch version. This means you get two ships in the Switch version, as opposed to one on other platforms. -Gameplay consists of flying between visually diverse planets seamlessly, dogfighting in space, skimming planet surfaces in your ship while picking up missions from NPC's. The missions can range from ground based or in-atmosphere combat, exploration, resource gathering, light puzzling and platforming. -There's also some freedom and slight strategy with regards how you first control the numbers of, then eliminate the enemies on each planet. Planetary maps with enemy occupation info help you prioritise where to go next. -The space stuff and flying about on planet feels quite Starfoxey, the on planet missions don't.

reserved with some extra bits as its cheap. get to use my £20 argos gift card from the currys mario maker mess up :)

The best starfox game made. A lesson to nintendo on how it should be done.

Well you don't need all the toys but they are a fun gimmick

Gateway drug dude ;) Apparently the digital version comes with all weapons/items unlocked but it obv won’t be as cheap

I get that! Well all the "toys" are now super cheap and £5 for an open world RPG style space craft game is really good. The toy element just allows you to customise the weapons and ships you use in game as well as the owns you unlock digitally. I've never played a toys to life game but this is a lot of fun for £5. You won't regret it for £5

Tempted but even though I wouldn’t buy the toys, the thought of another toys to life game is making me shudder

I’m thinking that this game is going to involve me buying lots of different parts, to make my ship & characters better, rather than me earning those rewards while playing. Can anyone confirm if upgrades can be won in game or do I have to buy all the bits to upgrade? Thanks

I brought for 11.99 after seeing it in game, game really need to price match

It’s the last piece of the puzzle to complete my full set after getting the ultra rare pilot on eBay, they must have 1000’s of the starter sets left. It will drop further.

Someone at Peterborough is going to get their ass handed to them as Smyths only reduce stuff if it's on their current priority list (which Starlink starter packs currently are not). (cheeky)

I think amazon too had the characters for 1.50, but for me I treat it as a star wing game, refuse to play as anyone other than fox!

theyve had the little figure things in Sainsburys lately on clearance to for around £1-£2

tell that to my six year old

On the switch? Ship is digital, you don't have to use the plastic thingymabob.

ugh - after all that it turns out either the included dock or the Arwing is broken. the game won't register the ship unless you hold it *just so*.

I just picked this up - thanks OP. also: parents beware, there's a whopping 6GB+ patch to download before you play.

I picked this up from Argos. The plastic ship is a gimmick but I’m having a lot of fun blasting around as starfox! Although the gameplay loop is repetitive planet to planet, there’s much more than £12 worth of entertainment here

Pity the ps4 one ship is not as cool as the Switch

Thanks, I just wanted the Arwing toy for decoration purposes, don't really care about the game.

+Heat and tempting at this price, but it would be just more single-use plastic for me. Perhaps once it comes down to Amiibo Festival pricing I'll be unable to resist (lol)

Now ordered the 2 pilot and 4 weapon packs but Scramble is now £20 (mad)

Amazon DID have Scramble at £11.50 before randomly putting it up, hoping they bring it back down a bit myself since Smyths is a bit of a deadend for me.

Right I’ve got Cerberus and Nadir coming to Argos and the other 3 via Amazon, that leaves Scamble, £13 at Amazon or £10 at Smyths if you can find it. I can but it’s the wrong direction for me. I’ll hold off to see if I do go there later on.

Does anyone know if the two player split screen is easy to use? I’ve got a 10 and 8 year old that I’m hoping will be able to play this. Read somewhere that I need to buy an extra ship for the two player co-op? Appreciate any advise.

If you're interested in only the models, can you give the game cartridge away to someone else or is it useless without the models?

Surely this is going to be collectable. Could see this selling for at least triple in a few years time.

The model looks great. I have fond memories of Llyat Wars on the N64 (and have Starfox 64 for 3DS). Total bargain at this price even if you only play the game a little. There's meant to be plenty of content, and the Switch version has the most/best content with the Starfox missions etc apparently. I don't even have a Switch yet lol. Worth it for the model alone for sure.

Gave this some heat. I found this deal on Amazon and Smyths too!

Appreciate that thanks so much!

When I bought the switch set at christmas, over the months I picked up a few weapon packs so I had access to diferent element weapons, to be honest that is all you need to get extra. You get two ships with the game, one is digital the other is the arwing Two pilots three weapons (ice, fire, kinetic as digital) I bought the iron fist & freeze weapon pack and the crusher & shreader pack. I did end up buying a ship for cheap but it was hardly required, those weapons gave me enough to do nearly everything easily.

Can someone please explain what’s needed to go this for best experience on switch? Wicch ships or characters are best to buy all together as gift? Do certain ones unlock levels etc? Help than
