Oh boy. What a steal!
Amazing game. A few frustrating moments, sure, but it's literally a learning experience. Beautiful & haunting as you'd expect if you've experienced Ico & Colossus. A few frame rate issues (on standard PS4 at least) but nothing that ruined the immersion for me.
No it doesn't but there is a Last Guardian tech demo for the VR. It's free here. It has better controls than the actual game. XD
Absolutely spot on. Once you got around how it should be played, any camera issues were pretty much down to the player not understanding the game mechanics and were easily rectified. One of my favourite PS4 games.
The specially created VR demo is decent but short. Worth it for the first time Trico comes close to you. Heated OP
Loved it for about two hours, the behaviour of Trico was novel. But when you’ve pressed shout a hundred times for him to move so I can get him in the exact spot I need to leave the area...it became annoying. By the end I just wanted it to end. Great idea, poor implementation IMO. Would I play again? no. Heat for the price tho!
Good game but the controls can really frustrate at times
Excellent, got it off the MM deal,
Everything is a puzzle in this game, so it takes a while to progress through it.
I've only ever used Music Magpie once which was the other day and they sent me the wrong disc :(
I might get this now. Hopefully the base console frame rate issues have been addressed.
Picked up mafia 3 for £4.59 from music magpie other day for delivered today. Put it in my to play pile damn pubg addiction is getting me now!
I have a feeling mafia 3 will be on gwg or ps+ good price for the game if you want it now.
Not heard of games centre. Anyone got any experiences?
Cheapest I have ever seen Nier, time to take the plunge.
That makes sense now! I haven’t played either game yet so wouldn’t have known the things you were referring to were in a different game!
And I quite agree, the performance mode on SOTC is excellent!
I'm guessing you meant Shadow of the Collosus?
A product of its time? Didn’t this game come out a little over a year ago?
It is games like this that can help creative and artistic single player games survive the tsunami of uninspiring micro transaction driven multiplayer ones.....
Well, yeah, that can happen but I think on the whole most people should adapt to the controls reasonably quickly. Certainly anyone familiar with Ico or Shadow of the Colossus shouldn't have much issue with it..
While some people complained about not being able to directly control Trico, that's not what people mean about the controls being poor. Your avatar in the game is the little boy and controlling him is the issue. Remember being on Trico's back and wanting to jump off but ending up hanging upside down from his neck feathers?
I think the controls, camera, framerate, and creature can be frustrating. But overall they don't stop it from being a good game.
I remember when I only worried about my volume and equalizer settings actually loading my Speccy games! After that you were grateful you could play at all! Days when you couldn't see endless videos of the game before you bought it, or play alphas. Somehow magazines and word of mouth were just as good and more imaginative. Look at some scans of Crash or ZZAP64, the writing standards were so much higher back then. Compared to an IGN article it's like reading a thesis vs. a copy of Hello. It's laughable that you'll get massive arguments with kids claiming the xbox one x is garbage because it's only running certain games in 30fps at 4k and people claiming they can tell the difference between 120 and 150fps. Anyway, as long as original games get released I'll keep playing, even if the media surrounding gaming has been dumbed down over the years.
KNACK 2 BABY!!!
I will never buy a NEW game from Game ever again. The last one I received was clearly used. Had the sticker seal keeping it closed, the case was tatty and broken with blutak stuck to it. I complained to Game who said to return it at MY expense and they would replace it. Given it was a Christmas gift I was furious. They didn't even appologise. Seems there's been many more before me and Game think it's acceptable!
No price match of Amazon
Knack II is £22.99 on Amazon (annoyed)
Last guardian OOS new at £14.99 :(
Daaah. Gutted. I'm being offered the physical copy for £16. Seems a bit much.
Ah yes, ended yesterday (or this morning) sadly :(
Has this ended buzz? I've put the game in my basket and checked put but still no discount.
Worth a try, makes logical sense. Been fight the temptation of watching the end on YouTube, but I've invested time and emotionally attached to the characters. Would like to experience the end.
But it's only with this game. It crashed before in the same way a few times, but after a few tries, all is good. But this time it won't progress far after the cut scene. I get an error code. It is suggested I clear the cache which I did and no luck. It's the only game this has happened to me
Well I've bought this. And so far it's amazing. You'd have to be slightly dead inside not to get something out of this game I reckon.
Yeah, because i was only referring to my own experiences and not the thousands of complaints the game received. I actually think it is by game design that Trico does his own thing from time to time, but whatever. You were able to overcome all that and play through the game perfectly first time. You should put those godly skills to good use and start a youtube channel.
In fairness I'd like to see you make a video of a clean playthrough where Trico is nothing but obedient. Mainly because you would be playing a different game to the one developed and released under the name The Last Guardian.
how big is the download? new to ps4 so not sure if its noted on the store. (not at home to check for a while) the get deal link... reveals: 12.88 GB !!!! I'm so smart when I haven't slept!
dude spoiler alert!
Me too! North and South, Supercars II, Turrican, Shadow of the Beast, Robocop 3, Worms, such fond memories. Playing the same level over and over on those cover disk demos too! I can't imagine what kids experiences now will be comparing to in the future.
Just finished and completed Arizona Sunshine. Was an amazing experience. I actually prefer teleportation and I find I dont then suffer from motion sickness. Slowly working up my tolerance to sickness with the motion. So worth it. The comment about how unimmmersive normal game play seems after being in VR is spot on! I started off in the late 80s with an Atari ST. We could only dream about tech like PSVR back then. Also back then my Atari ST cost me £399!!!
Hear hear is the phrase.
Farpoint is fantastic
Just ordered one thanks
Back in stock Let me make 2 people happy
I made someone happy
OOS, so must of had one copy
Heard a few folk on YouTube complaining about the DS4 controls - that the touch screen on the Vita is a lot better for hitting things in time.
And price in Euros in the description (y)
Just bought the first one on the Vita or I'd be all over this. And maybe Far Cry Primal
Great deal if you’re including certain games, like Danganronpa (y)
Most of these can be had for a tenner or less on disc.
Poor controls and camera but the story's great for 15 quid
Cheaper than Argos, thanks!
not bad considering its now back up to £20 at argos!
Couldn’t get game at Argos due to no stock, for an extra £1 with free delivery... ordered... thanks op
Also missed the Argos options, & just brought it via a local store so heat added & cheers for the alternative deal. :)
Good deal for those who missed Argos. I was lucky enough to get one at my local Argos.
Had vouchers to use, so perfect thanks OP
Staff discount makes it cheaper for me - Thanks OP!
Argh bought it second had just a few days ago for pretty much the same price. Missed out on my shiny box lol
Reserved LOU last night, got email just saying "unfortunely" its not avaible anymore, clearly just sold it even though its reserved until tomorrow (annoyed)
Argos on fire tonight - heat!
Tempted to buy horizon again, as I didn't really feel the game for the first 10 or so hours but I am curious to try again. Got a £5 voucher. Can't find anything else to buy. But I know horizon will sit on my to do pile for a while as doing skyrim switch atm.
I would :P
This is a very good price but might be worth waiting until Friday just to see what the best deals will be.
For balance, I thought this game was garbage, horrible controls and camera, poor performance and tedious gameplay. The set pieces are nice and trico animates well, but that's about the games only redeeming features.
Any chance of other stores price matching this online?
One of the best
Loved this game!! Well worth the price. Heat!!
£14.99 Delivered @ Grainger http://www.graingergames.co.uk/games/ps4/pf305-the-last-guardian
I have a love/hate relationship with this game. It can be painfully frustrating at times, but it has some incredible moments. If you have patience, I recommend this game. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
Managed to get Skyrim for Xbone. Now to carry on from the free weekend we got and complete it 100%. Stopped playing it on 360.
Skyrim on Xbox One in stock again as of right now. Finally managed to bag one at this price. Many thanks OP.
Yahtzee is not a serious reviewer. The majority of people will prefer the new R&C purely for the fact that gameplay is far better than the original. There wasn't even any strafing in the first R&C. That's before we get to the first having terrible checkpoint system that most people will not like.
I am glad you appreciate my opinion, I have realised that every time I have seen this game mentioned in a deal on this site my review for it has gotten slightly longer and more elaborate as to why it shouldn't exist, to the point I realised I was beginning to sound a lot like "zero punctuation" a very honest reviewer of video games, which made me wonder 'oh hey I haven't ever seen him review this game, I wonder if he has' and a google search later and I'm watching that video. I am surprised that him having never played the series previously he came to most of the same conclusions as myself but have noticed they are decidedly less salty about the quantity of levels and missing content as they don't have a frame of reference, yet they can still tell how forced and rushed the game was. So here's that review for anyone who needs a shiny video animation to go with their disdain for this game:
looks like skyrim is oos on the ps4 ;(
Ratchet and Clank back in stock for £9.99, finally managed to get one
Missed The Last Guardian, £10 was my biting point but this website makes it too difficult to order!!! Ratchet & Clank is well worth it. I bought it at launch and don't regret paying full price one bit. Played through twice already and planning another run through soon to get the platinum (97% or something at the moment)
No ex-rental stock available
I'd be all over both these games at a 10er each.. it's my biting point on them both for sure is this the cheapest either have been? And does anyone know if they will be back in stock at any point? :)
The Last Guardian was underrated? More like overhyped.
Both Skyrim and Last Guardian back in stock. LG is priced at £9.99 now.
They've been pretty good to me, actually. I did the £30 trade-in thingy for The Division on release (bought Tomb Raider for £20 and handed that over with an extra £10); I managed to pick up two Fire Emblem games on the 3DS for £20 each; and I'm pretty sure that's where I got WWE 2K17. None of that makes up for £10 Skyrim though, haha!
One of 2 times I've managed to snag a Smyths deal :)
How did I miss this? And the first comment is some guy reserving a copy in my local Smyths, argh
Only titanfall left
