No I haven't. Uninstalled it to be honest

Have you played xcom before? Every move is tactical and can lead to wiping out your squad if you’re over confident with your moves. I played both versions of xcom 1 and still had to start this version on beginner to remind me how I should be playing it. I’d heartily recommend restarting on beginner and see how you get on

Now out of stock

I always play on easy. Why make games harder than they need to be :)

daz_75

Quite possibly but it's not a rocket science game so just seems stupidly hard. Unless I picked the wrong setting

Absolutely essential game. As others have said though, we desperately need a reduced DLC as it triples the scope of the game.

Jonathan_Mickiewicz

Just seems like you are going out of your way to slag off a game that has been universally appreciated by those who have played it.

red23

It's to try balance out the sheer number of people who for whatever reason think its one of the best games ever made. It's ok but would rate is as one of the poorest fps/movies I've ever played. It's laughably bad.

Jonathan_Mickiewicz

You seem to slag off wolfenstein everytime a deal is posted. Personal gripe?

red23

That comment is enough to put me off this playing game, Thanks

so true makes you wonder how much sony are making out of the stream a game service, i would be suprised if its a huge profit maker for them ? there not going to make ps3 backwards compatible with the ps4 now but one can hope they sort this stuff out for the next playstation system now that the consoles are running on x86 architecture it should feasible to port other systems games it would been great had they went with backwards compatibility for with the ps4 man that would be have gggrrreeeaaattt

Yeah they did that with me too and they still froze the transaction and want me to send them my ID. Idiots

squibski

I have to say that their website is just awful. I must have bought from them years ago since they said I had an account. I clicked 'fogotten email's and they didn't send me anything. So I created a new account. Then I wanted to buy gta3 and vice city. You can't add both to a basket, you have to do one at a time. If you want to pay by PayPal they charge you more. If you want to pay by PayPal they demand your phone number and then phone you with a 4 digit code. The first transaction went through and they haven't sent me a code. The second transaction went through as well and they said that the transaction is 'pending verification' and they want me to send them a photo of my ID, like my driving licence. Do a ******* runner. Not worth the hassle. It's a £1.01 game, not a £10,000 car!!!

jameshothothot

I just had a few minutes googling and didn't see anything.. can you point in the right direction?

Paradroid888

Thanks for the tip on the controller vibration, appreciate it. I'm finding the Xbox One remastered version a better experience than PC, although it's not really a fair comparison as it's a lot more than £4.46.

bash_wins

Yeah unfortunately you have to run at 30fps or the game starts to just go mental, cars won't move and you can't speak to people etc - there is a patch that you can apply for the vibration fix on the Steam guides.

So good. Reviews: XCOM® 2 Metacritic: 88% (104 critics, 7.2 from 1358 users), Steam: Mostly Positive 80% (18620 reviews)

PressureDrop

Absolute bargain at this price, I instantly bought it. The "first" one was brilliant and I didn't expect to enjoy it so much. Wasteland 2 Directors Cut also has a similar combat to this game, mixed with the rpg freedom of the first Fallout games, highly recommend it if you like XCom

GeniusGizmo

I had been living under a rock and hadnt played the first one until a few months ago. Bought it for under 2 quid and enjoyed the hell out of it so I dont see no reason not to start with the first. Once you complete it you have XCOM 2 to look forward to :) Problem is finding the first one cheaper than this!

ValueForMoney

Nonsense, XCOM2 is a far better game for newcomers. The beginning of XCOM:EU can be brutal (see:not fun) for new players. XCOM2 gives you quicker access to better and a larger variety of weapons. XCOM:EU forces you to play with 40% chance, 2-3 dmg rifles for 2-3 hours and the aliens are much quicker to cause havoc around the world and disrupt progress.

fiqqer

Probably best to play the first one. The time limits make this very challenging even for a seasoned XCOM player - I have played the complete series of earlier versions for windows - much much longer and more complicated. The first modern one, XCOM:EU does not have the time limits so you can explore and experiment more.

HaggisHunter

Gave it a shot, good thing it was free. Hacker central, they are everywhere. Netcode is shockingbad. Watch the killcams and you will see. Thought i was imagining it, turn a corner and get shot, and the kill cam shows you standing there for a full second or two. What you see and what the killcam shows can look like totally different things. Apart from that its the usual CoD. Tiny, rubbish maps, infuriating as keep hitting the sidewalls on the maps. Head on run-and-gun, literally no way to flank anyone. Oh and the guns are either ridiculously underpowered at the start, or its the problems mentioned above. Keep firing a gun into someone, and boom, get heatshotted. Keep seeing people saying it's pretty. I just don't see it. Battlefield 1 looks infinitely nicer on my system.

Klinaton

Nice something to do! Cool thanks

Spent 30 mins on it last nite, looks pretty but hacker 1 shot central... shame about zombies tho its a mode worth playing but boy... not at that price

Yup. I hear ya, and I can't vouch for their validity .. but playing Devil's Advocate; the PS4 version was just £7 in Smyths Toys nearly a year ago, so such a price isn't outside the realms of possibility with that in mind. Also, they are still selling DLC at a high price, and the base game has even been in a game bundle to get people to gateway to said expansion. If it helps; I'm an XCOM fanboy having played this series since Laser Squad on the Spectrum & C64. Part of me even wanted to dislike the XCOM reboot so I could stay true to the earlier versions, but that failed miserably! I pre-ordered my versions, and paid full price - a price that I feel is totally worth it I'll add, and I'd happily pay it again! :)

Klinaton

Question is how key reseller got such a good offer.

SockWulf

Ridiculous price for a quality strategy title! Play this game vanilla to get the hang of it, then forget the costly War of the Chosen DLC (which I do own) and plump for the free Long War 2 mod on the Steam Workshop instead. I passed 400 hours on XCOM 2 recently, and there's no sign of me stopping.

This is probably the best port of a PC game to Android - ever. 2K China did an amazing job reproducing the PC game + DLC on a mobile format with barely any concessions. It ran just fine on my Galaxy Tab S2 almost three years ago so should be fine on most modern mid/premium devices. Edit - one word of warning is that I'm not sure how well it is supported these days. Last update was Oct 2017 and it seems that reviews mentioning crashes have become more frequent in the last few months. It used to run perfectly so hopefully not an issue.

TheSpartan

Without a doubt one of the best games I've played on Android, it's a superb port of the PC version and will keep you going for hours at a time.

Illusionary

Ah, excellent, I've been waiting for this! I'd have spotted it this when checking this morning, but thanks for the heads-up. Sadly my rewards balance isn't enough right now to cover it, but a couple of pounds on credit card won't do any great harm.

[–]indiegIndieGala 159 points 1 year ago* Hi everyone, As you may all know, we experimented with G2A Pay since earlier this year and it is now over 24 hours ago that it has been removed as a credit card processor from IndieGala. An agreement we made with G2A solely for the benefit of our users was violated and we took immediate action to prevent anybody from becoming affected. For those of you who are unclear about the rationale and timeline involved in these decisions, we'd like to share a brief rundown. We opted for G2A Pay because of its competitive fees that would allow us to create even better game deals for our userbase. Our agreement with G2A was that their payment processor should work exactly as our former. The only exception was that they would bring in even more payment options on top of competitive fees. We made a public statement when users voiced their concern about the switch to G2A Pay. Of course, we meant every word. At the beginning, G2A reassured us that no mandatory or automatic registration to G2A Shield was on. Before going live we did tests and confirmed this. Thanks to feedback from a few users and the GameDeals mods, yesterday morning we discovered that G2A had switched G2A Shield registration to default to "ON" whereas initially it always defaulted to "OFF". When we discovered this we immediately removed G2A Pay as our payment processor and reverted to our former. TL;DR - We experimented with G2A Pay only for the benefit of our users and the possibility to create increasingly awesome deals for them. Once we discovered that our agreement had been violated and that it could harm our users, we eliminated it immediately. We have no plans of enabling G2A Pay again especially in the event that G2A does not clarify its position to us, and thus to our users, ensuring that malicious activity will never be encountered during transactions. This was a real betrayal of our efforts towards our community. We apologize to the few of you who may have been affected and please reach out to us for support if necessary. EDIT: Update We have spoken with G2A and have concluded on the G2A Shield auto opt-in incident. G2A reported that the whole problem was caused by an IT error – they were testing a new checkout and unfortunately there were some technical issues. G2A Shield was supposed to be disabled on this checkout as it was initially, but due to an error, it ended up being enabled. We want to assure all of you that NO ONE will be charged for G2A Shield. G2A is currently deactivating every Shield that was turned on in our store. Additionally, everyone who was affected by this issue will get a surprise game emailed to them as a small token of apology. This is a link to the G2A Pay's comment. Thanks, IndieGala Team

xavk

I got this last night from here and I can confirm that it includes all DLC available in Steam today including Shen's Last Gift, Alien Hunters or Anarchy's Children. I dont appear to have been signed up for G2A pay (at least not yet).

Bob_Green

Wouldn't trust this site after it automatically signed customers up for G2A pay when they made a purchase. Dodgy at the least without letting people know. Be aware. reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/5x5rny/psa_check_your_email_to_see_if_you_were_signed_up/
