Drive Hard (Blu-ray) £1.00 @ Poundland (Hammersmith)

Score on IMDb (4.3/10) is pretty low but some folks are sayin' it's sort of a decent flick and for a pound can't go wrong. Plus, you get a brand new Blu-ray case! I'd take a photo of it but since I'm

Shipping fee is £1.99 (unless for orders over £20 then it's free) and if you use one of 10% discount codes the price will drop down to £16.19 (£1.80) but the total will still end up being £18.13, howe…

Users from Blu-ray.com ordered it for £20 or even higher but then again they're straight up fans who're willing to pay top price to get this so it's understandable if a casual buyer prefers to wait and see if it'll drop to £9.99 or less.

Heat added but no way an I paying that much for GITS. Great film but not paying that much extra for a tin.

I know, I'd think about it if there were loads of extras but it's just a barebones disc. Glad they finally released the original untampered version on blu-ray but I'm not spending almost £20 on it! Hopefully it will drop in price - the other Manga steelbooks have fallen to as little as £9.99 after some time.

Still higher than I'm willing to pay for it...I really want the disc as I don't want the 2.0 version. BTW the Akira steelbook is only that much now because it's out of print - I bought it a year or two ago for just over a tenner, brand new and sealed (on eBay). I'm hoping this will drop below £15 at some point and then I'll get it :)
Worth noting before any cold votes that this is not simply the 2.0 version repackaged, it's reportedly an all new HD remaster from the original film (without the CGI edits etc from 2.0)

On Amazon this is going for £36 whereas Base.com's pre-order price is £34.99 (just slightly cheaper). But if you want to get this in higher quality and willing to spend an extra £5 go with the Blu-…

The reason why it's overpriced is due to the publisher Aniplex not letting Anime Ltd. drop the price more but Anime Ltd. has confirmed there'll be standard releases of the series.

Still, for the fans this Collector's Edition is pretty awesome, it comes in a hardbook case, booklet/artbook (189-page), 2 discs and more. But it's disappointing it only features 9 episodes for £40.
awesome series i agree but very over priced considering what would cost to get parts 1 - 3
£43 (not £42) is for the Blu-ray edition while the DVD is £36 on Amazon. I was surprised if Amazon had raised the price today but they didn't.
This is currently £42 at Amazon. It's massively overpriced anywhere, but most Japanese DVDs are. The real f u is that it's box set 1 of 3. Amazing series tho.

This is currently going for £43.25 on Amazon whereas on Base.com it's a bit cheaper. Also, please be aware that this is a bit expensive because this is the Collector's Edition the Standard Edition

Its now back in stock at John Lewis
Got this TV a few days ago from a sony centre after currys were sold out got them to price match at £750 with the blu ray player and 5 year warranty. This is the best tv on the market for input lag coming in at 6ms http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/input-lag
Recently paid £799 for this TV and no blu-ray player, it's a fantastic TV at that price so this is a no-brainer. Great deal, also available at Euronics dealers with a 5 year warranty, buying local helps the high street.

Why would anyone overlook the Samsung equivalent and buy this.

Because if you're a serious gamer you want a set with minimal input lag. The latest W8 and W9 Sony models are light years ahead of the Samsung's and just about every other LCD/LED TV right now for latency.
Sony is starting to lead the tv market again with innovation and some very good quality screens.

Why would anyone overlook the Samsung equivalent and buy this. Sony have had their time with TV's back in the 90's and early 00's. it's not their forte now. Leave it to the Korean big boys.

I think your statement is false.

Think you might like to correct this to account for delivery, it adds another tenner on, which makes it about £5 more expensive than the cheapest elsewhere.

I guess, but don't AV member get free delivery? If you live close though you can pick it up :)

EDIT: Any chance you could link me to the cheaper one?

You are right but not everyone is or wants to be an AV forum member.

The rule here is to show an all inclusive price as delivery charges can have quite an impact to the cost.

£10.20 plus £6.48 delivery

unless you are a prime member and get it next day for "free"

Ah right, I usually don't look at delivery due to being close and thought it was a good deal. Will ensure to include it next time :)
