Search for London parathletic tickets. 5th result is 'London 2017' click on 'read more' there are two ways to get into the buy tickets section. It's not the greatest website.

Romania is not as rich as the UK because it was taken over by Turkey who stole all their gold, then suffered for two generations within the USSR because Churchill completely screwed them over at a conference, whereas the UK was subjugating half the known world and transporting millions of slaves.
Our wealth doesn't intrinsically come from what we do now, and neither does their poverty.
The Slave Trade, really? You're going there from this?
And as was said previously Romania was never part of the slave trade!
Douchebag!
Our country is rich essentially from empire and the slave trade, yes.
Before both of those things we were far smaller in actual and relative wealth.
... well, being first with our industrial revolution and leading the world in science and engineering for centuries might also explain our current wealth quite well :-)
And where did we get the raw materials for said industrial revolution?
Where did we sell to?
Yes there was magnificent education etc, but the empire was the driver.
... this is not a history lesson, but the coal and iron ore on which England's (Britain's after 1706) industrial revolution relied on came from England and Wales (Britain after 1706). England's (Britain's after 1706) empire had the advantage of being able to source the most advanced engineering and science directly, but those engineering products were sold all over the world. England (Britain after 1706) had a significant advantage in science over the rest of the world from the 17th century onward (with a lineage including Newton, Darwin, Rutherford and many others, right up to Hawking) because it was internally stable (England having got its civil war out of the way early on) and less restricted by religious ignorance than was the rest of the first world.

This site is about cheap deals, and the trip to Romania is obviously a bargain, so I've voted hot. It is really irritating when ill informed people hijack posts on this site with rather silly (and ill informed) political points. The fact remains that the United Kingdom (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is a far wealthier place than is Romania because we have been a more successful nation in the past and continue to be so today, and so we can enjoy holidays in Romania at a very low cost.

 and off we go again...
Where was the cotton from? Who grew it? where?

I'm up for a cheap flight to Romania. But you only have to read this thread to see the "rule Britannia" myopia dripping through the comments.

Why is this cold?, cheers for the deal Florinakke
Florinakke I wouldn't worry about it, it's a great price for that fragrance, not my cup of tea but a great price all the same and thanks for posting it up here.
To be honest I've got fed up of posting bargains on here only for people to vote cold because they may not personally like it, it does get very disheartening at times.
Fragrances are very much a personal choice, but a bargain is a bargain and I always give heat where it's due, thanks to this site I spend far too much money on fragrance!
Thanks again :D
I guess you are right Caskey. People are expecting this at £4.99, and even then some are voting cold!
Anyway, I`m chasing this for more then half a year, and this is indeed a very good price!
No idea at all why people voted this cold. Think people thought of all Dunhill fragrances as cheap, but Icon is a great smelling fragrance and this is the best price around for it.
heat added, quick search couldn't find it cheaper

you can find the cheapest by looking at the monthly chart

Yes but once you click through the prices go up by about £80. The prices on the calendar are 'from' prices. There appear to be none for £348 whatsoever.
you can find the cheapest by looking at the monthly chart
I tried about 10 different combinations that showed as £348 initially on skyscanner's monthly calendar from Heathrow to Santiago, but they all came out around £450. It's still a good price, but I think that they have probably updated the fares to a higher price. Is anyone managing to find flights for £348?

Good idea to sign up to headforpoints (see post about it above) - been a recipient of his daily emails for just a year and already racked up tons of avios.
There are many other useful purposes one could use avios for besides flights and hotels:

Ferries (incl eurotunnel) - https://www.avios.com/gb/en_gb/spend/ferries

Eurostar - https://www.avios.com/gb/en_gb/spend/eurostar

Airport Lounges & Parking - https://www.avios.com/gb/en_gb/spend/airport-extras

The list could go on incl Top attractions, memberships, luxury train journeys, wine etc and this is just from Avios.com and then one could also spend avios on ba.com or Iberia's website.
Naz76
Thanks all u have been super helpful. Is it worth while using them for hotels then?

Another poor value option Naz, purchasing a hotel through Quidco or Topcashback is always much better value than using Avios. However, that's only if you intend keeping them for flights sometime. After reading your initial post you say you have 100,000, and don't seem that 'into' the Avios programme. If that's the case, you don't intend to collect any more Avios and are looking rid of the ones you have, then by all means use them on a New York hotel - certainly not the cheapest place in the world to stay, and 100,000 Avios will get you a 3 or 4 night stay in a downtown 4 or 5 star hotel - could save you upwards of 4 or 500 quid!

Would like to use them for a New York trip....can someone help on that please

There's a cheaper way to use them for new York, but they would need some avios to be in a ba avios account and not in a avios.com account (you can transfer them free between avios and ba). For new York search Dusseldorf or Berlin (txl) to JFK on BA avios website, and it'll come up as 20000 avios and just £2 each way with Air Berlin. Then you have to either use a cheap flight to get to Dusseldorf or Berlin or use avios on either Flybe for 4500avios plus approx 25quid each way (can only be booked in avios.com) or fly BA from Heathrow for 4000/4500 avios and £17.50 each way.

Naz76

Not good value Naz, on BA flights over 2,000 miles you have to pay the taxes, which on Transatlantic can cost around £350, more than the full price of a flight sometimes with another airline. Check out American Airlines, they're usually among the cheapest UK to USA... AND if you pay cash you collect MORE AVIOS as they're a BA partner!

Just to add Naz, if you're determined to use them for New York you may do better using them to upgrade your seat.

BA allow you to use Avios for upgrades if you have paid cash for your original ticket, but you can only upgrade one category - ie, World Traveller-World Traveller Plus, World Traveller Plus to Club World etc. The best option (if you have enough Avios and can afford World Traveller Plus) is to pay for that and upgrade to Club World. Sometimes this can cost as little a 20,000 Avios one-way. Great option, especially for the overnight (red eye) flight.

Worth ringing BA before paying for the WTP seats first though, just to check if they have upgrade availability in Club World

I would love to go skiing but I would like to try it out 1st closer to home & for a long weekend, what would be the cheapest place to go?
Poland and in particular Zakopane.
More ski hills there than traditional resorts but does give you a feel for it and the resort of Bialka Tatraska is only a short drive away when you get a bit better and can ski the blue runs.
Cost for a week would be around £500 all in with all meals, drinks and lessons equipment etc etc
Lot of information on this site http://www.discoverzakopane.com/skiing.html
A rough example would be
Flights - £60 return to Krakow
Transfers local bus to Zakopane - £10 return
accommodation- £140 per person
Ski pass £70
Equipment £50
So thats around £330? food and drink is cheap out there and delicious too!
This is a nice resort , i still go back every year! even if only for a weekend http://bialkatatrzanska.pl/ceny-karnetow-na-sezon-20152016/

That's the area I was thinking of, Zakopane. I went there in summer and the hostel were talking about skiing in winter and how popular it is. Agree, food and drink are really cheap and you could spend some time in Krakow and some in Zakopane. I'll look into this for a future deal.

Feel free to PM and im happy to help. I've a fondness to the place and always sending people there! Perfect place to learn to ski

Skiing and cheap don't really go together I'm afraid. You can do it, but that probably relies on doing it with mates. We did 2.5 days on the slopes in Tignes for £250 each, but, my cousin owned the little apartment we went to / 4 of us squeezed into one car / we self catered / we self drank / we all had clothing.

You would be best served by saving a little and taking a package for a week. Have some lessons on a dry slope or indoor place before you go. Borrow clothing, you will need a decent couple of baselayers that wick sweat. Waterproof trousers (cos you will topple over a fair bit - if you don't, you ain't pushing yourself enough!). Decent waterproof gloves, mitts tend to be warmer if you're a coldy. You'll be amazed what's in mates cupboards - no one will wear ski gear out in a week yet everyone wants the latest gear so most kit you can borrow is in a well good condition!

Try to do some leg exercises from 12 weeks in advance to get the most out of it - and prepare to burn the candle at both ends! You will need a holiday to recover when you get back, and your liver will hate you :):)

Then you'll be hooked and it will be the first holiday you book up every year!

Highly recommend Italy for the food, the drink, the instructors and it's relatively cheap...

i brought this from the 99p store once & they had the colour black
I fell for it too and only realised it was Emerald Green when I got it home!
Not cruelty free. They sell in China and the Chinese want it tested on animals.
just for those who don't check the picture, this is a dark emerald colour -i bought some a few weeks back but didn't think to put it up here! it was the only colour any of my stores have, tho the green is only noticeable in certain light it you look closely-people who usually wear black would still be able to use it.

its really good stuff..i normally like pencils n don't like liquidy eyeliners. this comes with a little brush which means you can change the effect of the liner to suit how you like it

The spirit selection is crazy, they have their own brand vodka in a 1.75ltr bottle which I heard is actually Grey Goose for £30 something (IIRC).
Their spiced rum is also lovely (again in a 1.75ltr bottle)
Here is some that they have instore - http://www.costco.co.uk/view/c/food-wine-household/spirits (ignore the prices as they're always cheaper instore).
Nearest one to me is 40 miles away otherwise I would look at joining

I've got the gold card too but it's fairly new, maybe that's why. I didn't get the Eurostar deal either :(

Offer doesn`t show up for me either online or on the AmEx app. OP, how did you find it?
looks like Avios points to me as its appearing on my BA card
If it's points then it'll be on the charge card. Though this isn't appearing on my platinum charge card either which is a shame.

It's a good deal if you want the freebies.
But we book secret escapes deals for London quite a lot and if you keep your eye out the always have the 5 star Grange St. Paul's or 5 star Grange tower bridge for £130 a night for 2 adults and 2 full breakfasts . So 2 night weekend is normally £260 with breakfast and they are pure luxury 5 star . And virgin direct train from the northwest is just 2 hours for as little as £38 pp , cheaper than fuel money !!!!!

I would really appreciate the info on where I should keep an eye out for such great 5 star deal?

As I said in comments secret escapes !!!!!!
Red Devil PJB
Good deal but be aware, this hotel is nowhere near Ealing really. It is just off Hanger Lane which is where two main roads, A40 & A406 meet. It is quite busy (trafficwise) & industrial. There are a few places nearby (Royale Leisure Park is 10 minute walk and has Chiqitos, Nandos, bowling, cinema, Burger King and good old KFC!) but it is not the nicest area! Although given most will spend the mainstay in London it is close to tube and considering what is including I would say this is hot for those from outside of the capital

At first I assumed it was the doubletree on ealing common and that you had the location wrong - but yeah, everything that you said. Safe now, but my brother got mugged at knifepoint in that leisure park in the 90s, noisy and not pretty these days, but if all you need is a (presumably nice) room that's next to the tube, goferrit.

we've stayed near this hotel in a holiday inn we had no problems with the area and felt safe walking to and from the tube station.

https://www.ticketstoindia.co.uk/airlines/air-india.aspx - Direct to New York for £315 including two free suitcases!
This deal doesn't come up for me, only get WOW Air/Norwegian. What am I doing wrong?
I bought a priority pass recently for airport lounges. It's like £149 per year with 15 free visits if I recall correctly. You get snacks, food, showering facilities, alcohol, can charge your phone, etc. Pretty good if you travel often.

But yeah New York is cool. Has the rude/london type vibe but the food is fab. Especially the pizza 1 dollar a slice.

TY OP! Was planning to go HK next year, since gf needed to enter to keep her HK passport validated.
tyty!
Hey, is regular validation (3yr) of HKID or HK Passport a myth or fact?
Is fact I'm afraid, unless you reside in HK for 7 yrs.
Or unless born in HK,like me,then is OK.:)
What's the point in keeping a HK ID card if you don't even live there? Just use your passport when ever you go?
Seems like a waste of time and resources to just keep a HK ID card lol but I know so many people who do it when they live and work in the UK. Don't get why
I live in HK + UK.
In UK,I use HK ID card as ID for pubs etc, saves carrying passport.:)
Ok cool. I use my driving license

They had these bottles in stock in the Exeter High Street store last week at £1.00 each. They've been this price for a while, though I don't think the extra discount is now being applied if you buy 6 bottles.
Discount is now 25% off when you buy 3 bottles or more. I just got 8 for £6 in Stockton.
Had loads in Macclesfield the other day at £1 a bottle. It is a nice tasting beer.
Rats @ClashInDevon as I don't have a chance to go to a high street store over the next few days.

Hmmmm might not be good for long journey eg if I use bus 25 from Ilford and want to get off at Oxford circus to hop on to another bus then this would have been more than 60minutes anyway. .. hmmmm I wonder if there is a way around it?
Have some heat for heads up

You'd just pay two fares as now so nothing lost.
A good idea, they've had similar schemes in some American cities for years, glad its finally appeared over here.
Thanks for the heads up, have some heat.

It's a deal, not a freebie, as you have to buy a ticket.

No self addressed envelope this time. They have changed the process. Perhaps to stop the folks that sell on ebay.
Dont see how it would do that. They just seem happy to pay to post the booking code this time
