The offer is still on. Stock was showing in my local Halfords, but when I arrived there were none- fortunately the assistant let me have a 550ml one for £3, which I thought was pretty decent.

Great deal! Thanks.

No problem :) I picked up mine earlier - good quality, top value.

terrible deal! for the same price you can own a couple years old corsa outright, not that I would..because its junk.

A Corsa is certainly not 'junk' - nor are most cars that are sold in the 'Western World'. Brand snobbery on HUKD is pathetic and a joke.
Nevertheless the value of this deal is not great because of the 2nd hand price of (new-ish) Corsa's comparison to the expense incurred for this 48 month contract.

Corsas ARE 'junk'. They're horrific cars and I can judge, as I'm the very unfortunate owner of one. NEVER again will I buy another Vauxhall. Their built quality is shocking, reliability is awful, customer service is non-existent! Need I go on? I have a list of things as long as my arm which have needed to be replaced/modified/whatever under the warranty of my Corsa. Had to fight and fight to get things done, it's unbelievable. This was my first Vauxhall purchase, and definitely last! Strongly urge others not to touch them with a barge pole. I have literally no confidence in this's manufacturer, and have never felt confident driving my Vauxhall due to the sheer about of times it's been back in the dealership for repairs, quick fixes and so on.

Problem is the Fiesta does it better in every way.
True, but the Focus can't even come close to the new Astra at the moment.
I should think so, the current Focus is five years old, even if it had a facelift more recently.
Hopefully the depreciation isn't as bad as previous Astra's. My one lost 80% from list in five years and 31k miles, good job I got a huge discount when I bought it new.
Yeah, that's the bad thing about Vauxhalls. Unless they're a lease, there's no point buying brand new at full RRP, and even then it's still only for a lifetime committed. The customer service is mediocre at best, and the badge value retention is the most pitiful out of all brands.
I bought mine when the lifetime warranty was back on, wife drives it now and still under warranty for another 68k miles.

I've not had a problem with their customer service, always pick up and return on time and warranty claim has been the paint finish which their sorted even though the car was over four years old at the time.

Depreciation is something they could do about, same as VW did many years back. Keep as many used cars as they can in the dealer network and keep the prices high. Then lower the list and decrease discounts on new cars.

Bargain for this price. Don't know why you're getting voted cold. The content in these Dream Packs is of spectacular quality. Especially when compared to the likes of iRacing.
I had to get the 3rd dlc with brands hatch. The couple of lambos and a mclaren are a bonus.

Looking for racer for my new Thrustmaster ferrari 458 wheel. Is this game any good?? I tried the demo of forza 6 and got bored. Also tried forza horizon 2 on demo but it's a strange open world game. I wouldn't buy either unless they become under £10 games. This game I just do not know much about.

Maybe try project cars? I love it and still play it now and it's brilliant with a wheel, I love forza 6 too though but project cars is very different.
The PC version is very good 8)

Vauxhall Corsa, for the people who know nothing about cars......
Mr_Smuggles

title should include the final payment of £5600 as this isn't a flat 139 a month.. true cost is £392.45 a month with one years free insurance.
Edit: in comparison you can lease a 1.4 corsa from just over £115 a month. which would equate to around 11-12 years leasing for the price of this car. much better option in this case.
No it shouldn't, the number of people who pay the final payment are minimal. At the end of the agreement you trade the car in against that final fee and use the difference as a deposit.

so £9000 for 3 years of a cross against £3600 for one on lease. Still don't see where the benefit of buying on this occasion is.

That would most likely be a 1.4 with a Turbo on it. Not comparable to this.
1.4l engine, eco and SRi should never be seen together.

VW who bend the truth?

I doubt a petrol 180 BHP 1.4 does 96 mpg around town.

A Corsa VXR has 195BHP, a 1.6 engine and does about a third of that mpg

Polo 1.4 probably has 80 BHP to achieve that mpg.

Cold only because when this offer first launched it was £159 down and £159 a month. Get one of these with the Performance Pack and you'll be having a lot of fun. 5,000 miles a year is just silly though, no point having this with such limited mileage.

So if you do 5000 miles a year every mile you drive costs approx 45p + petrol etc , 100 mile trip = probably getting on for £60, hmmm think I'll pass ta

So unless you lease a car, driving is costless? Hate to see your finances.

Been playing this since it was a free demo for netkar pro players. It has the best tyre physics I've felt in a game, makes going back to Gran Turismo feel like Need For Speed.

And laser, scanned, Nurburgring. Frickin lasers!

This and a Logitech G27 is racing heaven. Best racing sim around.

Still think the physics are quite right, and I've spent a good hour tweaking the G27 to suite. Tried LFS yet on the PC? I'd highly recommend the Demo version to try out. :)

Deal now finished at 18:00pm. Now at 30% Offf.
Should be able to pick up a cheap G25/7 for those that are interested in trying the game.

Having played the early access I can't say I was too impressed. I much prefer LiveForSpeed (LFS) - Physics I feel are better, despite the game looking a little dated now and the promise of S3 for years. But, you can make it look good with the right mods.

I will however have another go at this and see what it's like.

How does this compare to project cars? Both look very pretty
I would say Project Cars is a more casual game that could be played easily by anyone with a joypad, nothing too challenging - nothing too thrilling. Awesome graphics and presentation and a good game, maybe one for your teenage son or your dad.
Teenage Son or your Dad? That's a very condescending statement :D
They're both very good games, I'm intrigued to hear what you prefer about Assetto Corsa though.
In a nutshell:
Project Cars = Multiplatform game, designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator
(Design philosophy = Made to be mass market, to make more money)
Assetto Corsa = PC Exclusive simulator, designed to simulate the driving experience
(Design philosophy = as close to the real thing as possible)
Are you basing that argument from the fact Project Cars is multiplatform?
Assetto Corsa is coming to Consoles next year...

Yeah, it is coming to consoles, like most games that start on the PC it will be adapted to work well on console controllers and its physics model, graphical fidelity and track detail adapted to work well on consoles. This development path means that PC users get a game that uses the PC to its full potential and console gamers get a game that works well on consoles too. Project Cars has been developed to work on the LCD (Lowest Common Denominator) = Dumbed down from the start.

Its like being at school and the teacher has to pick a book for the class to read over the summer holidays, she cant be too ambitious as she has to make sure every child can understand the book.

£39.99 now, dammit.
I was so looking forward to getting AC, but honestly just found it very dull in terms of both graphics and gameplay, I regret buying it, not touched it for ages. Coming from Rfactor 1 I felt most of the cars were way too easy to drive even with all the assists off. I'm enjoying Project Cars but I've only put in a couple of hours so far, at this stage I'd strongly recommend PC over AC if you're not out for a hardcore race simulator. Rfactor 1 still floats my realism boat but it looks dated as hell.

I went to Phoenix in linwood and got the same patter! Didn't have a 1.2 to test drive so went literally around the block in the 1.4! Was told it was a 3 months waiting list for the 1.2 which is fine with me but they weren't amussed at that! When I asked for a brochure to compare the 1.2 and 1.4 to see what I was paying £20 a month extra for they didn't have one! The patter was the 1.4 road tax in free for the first year then £30, where as the 1.2 is £110 a year so I would save straight away with that in the first year (I later found out both cars are free the first year). Then they said they could give me a 1.4 64 reg at a bargain price - which was a grand total of £500 off list price - what was the point?!!?!?! They also tried to sell me a top of the range model as it have Bluetooth etc.... I corrected the guy saying this had Bluetooth, he said no, a while later I showed him the ad - feel like they are totally unprepared!!!!!! So left confused! Went home and looked up webuyanycar who offered me more for my car than they did! I actually went in to buy this car and now having second thoughts!

Has anyone actually gone for this deal ?
Did you go to the same branch? Or another one?
I think its a bs add to get you In the door tbh.
They didn't have any stings in at all, not even to test drive. I was inside a sting r and test drove an sri with the same 1.4 engine.
No not the same branch but they pushed and pushed me to buy the 1.4 and told me the sting would be at least 2 month wait. In the end the sales guy was to pushy so I left it.

You guys have got issues. I do too.
I personally have the same model essentially (2012 plate with all the extras!) and I can guarantee I wi NEVER buy another Corsa again! It's had countless repairs (under warranty, but only cos I kicked up a fuss about the majority!) and their customer service is awful.
I get the arguments here, however I'd rather buy a heap of **** car for 3k than rent this new heap of **** corsa for 24 months. Each to their own.
ridgers84
All the haters obviously don't understand good basic economics, buy what appreciates in value and rent what depreciates. Simple!

Always makes me laugh when people quote this BS.....

Not knocking this deal, or even specific to car leasing, but in general if you want to lease an asset, someone else has to buy that asset and lease it to you. They aren't going to absorb the depreciation themselves, they are going to charge you for doing so, with a contingency margin on top.

At best leasing protects you from unexpected depreciation, not expected depreciation!!
pfarre10
Seems to me many don't get leasing.
On a good deal you only pay for the depreciation of the vehicle in the first few years of its life.
Of course this is expensive, but in my opinion, far better than buying it new and losing that money.
Add to that you can lease without having the full purchase price in the bank initially, then suddenly you can have a new car, and all the niceness that goes with it, on the cheap, relatively.
I've never leased, I buy, but after renting an SUV on holiday for three weeks, that I could never afford to buy, the thought of having it for a few years for a fraction of the hire cost has me thinking.
If you've never run a new car you won't understand the conceited superiority that goes with it, and it feels gooood!

most audi, bmw and merc new cars are pcp or leased. I've read somewhere that 90% of audi cars bought at audi dealers are leased

Saw these a few weeks ago. Never ridden less than 23c, current trend is 25c on road bikes, but happy with 23c myself. I ride 30c on my CX for commuting, just built a road bike for the Mrs (her first) and went for 28c for comfort and stability.

Thing with these ones I would worry about the road buzz and bumps and they are perhaps the perfect size to fit in to some poorly aligned grid gaps :(
Thanks for your help!
Thanks op found some other tyres I needed from the site
As stated 20mm is a bit narrow for all but the smoothest roads. Additionally these must be several years old since Vittoria upgraded the canvas from 290 tpi to 320 tpi 7 or 8 years ago.

guess what I am saying is that this should be included in the update, but this is what all Devs are doing now.

It's only a shocking price if you don't appreciate the work put into this pack.

A laser-scanned Nordschliefe is worth the price tag alone considering the time and effort needed to create it.

Wow. Shocking price.

Shocking as in bad or good?

I think it is is a good price and well worth it for the cars you get. Plus there is the 1.1 update with more improvements to the engine and graphics and also the addition of race flags which the community has been crying out for for some time.

This is an excellent deal. Not the fastest hot hatch out there but it's one of the fastest small hot hatches and the clubsport is very well spec'd for handling too. It's got a limited slip diff, good suspension and awesome seats for a small car. At lot of fun to had from this for 2 years for very little cost.

Just my 2 pennies worth; I've owned the Corsa VXR Nurbugring since the day it came out (which is the same as this bar the colour scheme and the Clubsport has a better exhaust). How stuellis can say not sure if this is a hot hatch is beyond me, that's EXACTLY what it is lol....especially when the Nurburgring edition won best hot hatch of the year from Top Gear magazine in 2011 and called it "one of the very best hot hatches in recent years". It's an incredibly capable car with all of the upgrades over the standard Corsa VXR (slip diff, Brembos, more bhp, upgraded Bilstein suspension).
This price is fantastic. If I was in the market for one I'd be biting their hand off. For anyone not sure, just check out the reviews of this car - but also search for the Nurburgring instead as it is the same car. It really can run rings round much "better" cars.
The one thing always stated is that it is overpriced - well this sorts that problem out. Yes the build quality inside the cabin is a bit cheap (and this has been vastly improved on the new Corsa E VXR), but for £1100 down and £160 odd a month, this car represents an absolute bargain for performance vs price vs practicability. Hell fuel economy isn't that bad. I get about 31mpg around town and can easily get 40mpg on a mway run. I've driven mine to Geneva and back and it didn't skip a beat. This is a hot deal and while the Corsa D is getting on a bit now, I just can't see how you could get a new car with this kind of performance for anywhere near this kind of money anywhere else.
And I am biased but I do think it's still one of the best looking hot hatches out there:http://cached.imagescaler.hbpl.co.uk/resize/scaleHeight/655/offlinehbpl.hbpl.co.uk/galleries/RCW/T5E0017.jpg

Great post, thanks. I think it's a good deal, but this site is very inconsistent with lease deals. The Astra SRI deal recently got loads of heat and I'm sure it was more expensive and no more economical than this, but with much worst performance.

Cheers. You know what makes me laugh? That this has actually been voted cold. Hilarious.

A love of a cheapskate courtesy car?

In simple terms: Having money and selecting cars based on image alone aren't always shared virtues.

I would have thought that fact I liked the courtesy car was blatantly obvious, apparently I expected too much. So I'll ask what your point was? Because all I took away was you bought a new focus, and a couple of cars that you think make you look like you're in, the poor man's version of, Fast & Furious and think that's something to boast about.

Who the hell says 'hey I've got £9000 in the bank... I really fancy a new corsa!'
I have ~£95,000 in the bank(s) and just bought a 2 year old used Focus for a little more than that :p having money and peeing it away on status symbols aren't correlated values. I wouldn't buy a new car, and I wouldn't buy a Corsa, but I've been using an Astra courtesy car for the last couple of weeks and it was fine.

Bunch of dead heads on this site, I've sold hundreds of Corsas and very few complaints ! I am at a Vauxhall franchised dealer (that also sells multi franchise used cars) and we do more warranty work on VW group cars than we do on VX!
Keep your fashion accessories such as Audi and BMW
We have to think about what some of these cars are like to drive.. My 14 year old Golf still drives better than a brand new Corsa. I might spend a bit on repairs these days but it's still great to drive, something a crappy Corsa is not! So it might be cheap but there's no enjoyment (only frustration) from driving the thing!
Reviews look respectable for driving a Corsa but not as much fun as a Fiesta. Golf is a larger car this is more comparable to a Polo and they don't score as highly as a Fiesta for driving enjoyment. I think the main concern is Corsa reliability and whether the new model will improve over the dire previous version.
Hmm, my advice to anyone would be to test drive the thing before committing to a sale. I accompanied a friend when she was shopping for a new car, she drove a Fiesta, a Mazda 2 and some other crappy thing I can't remember the name of, all of which were 3 years old. I sat in the back during the test drives and they all seemed noisy and sluggish. I then gave her the keys to my Golf (which was at the time, 10 years old), and she said it was leagues ahead of anything she'd driven that day. She then went out and bought a Golf - a few years older and with a few more miles on the clock, but something that drives like a real car and not some sluggish eco-friendly rubbish. She'll also be able to sell it once it's done 100k or so, unlike the crappy Corsas and Fiestas, many of which will be rotting away on the scrapheap by that time.

I'm not disagreeing with your older Golf being a great car but comparing new cars the Polo is the same level as the Corsa and modern German cars are nowhere near as reliable nowadays as they once were. Most of the least reliable cars are german and they also have some of the most expensive repairs and servicing. They aren't such a good choice nowadays. The Corsa itself is manufactured in Germany as well as Spain.

Vauxhall as a brand is more reliable than Volkswagon even if a comparison of Corsa vs Polo is a win for Volkswagon for this segment of car.

http://www.reliabilityindex.com/manufacturer

Also Vauxhall has its complete range under one brand where as Volkswagen and Audi are split with the less reliable luxury models under the Audi brand. If you split the difference between Volkswagen and Audi results you are at 182 as an average. A lot worse than Vauxhall and up there with BMW and Jaguar for reliability.

I've had Mk4 golfs and while they were half decent cars back in the day, in no way were they enjoyable to drive and I had a 4motion. The best Golfs were the mk1 GTi's or mk2 16v GTi's .... they went downhill from Mk3 onwards in my opinion.
I don't dislike VW, far from it....but the generally elitist attitude from most of their owners can only be described as delusional.

I don't think it's elitist, the torque and handling of my mk4 Tdi (130 engine) I still haven't managed to replicate in a cheap modern car like the Corsa... hard suspension though!

It's common knowledge that the 'lifetime' warranty has been ditched and was reported in the press.

I had a Corsa for just over 3 years, brand new out of the showroom and I have never had so much trouble wirth anything as I did with that car.
The first problem was the clutch and then it just went downhill from there, I spent more time on the phone to Vauxhall customer care than I did talking to my brother. The windscreen wipers went out of Synch and Dealership said that they had been told by Vauxhall not to fix any under warranty because customers had been trying to clear the ice/snow of windscreens and that was the cause of the synch failures. I managed to prove that wasn't the problem with mine, but a lot of other people were being charged over £200 to put the problem right. Suspension, Heater, one thing after another. The final straw was the steering started to go heavy, then normal, then a week or days and then heavy again. Research showed that Vauxhall had a number of Models with steering motor problems, but trying to get them to admit it was a component problem was almost impossible, they wanted £1200 to fit a new steering motor, so I did a part exchange to the same company that sold it to me (then told them what was up with it).
NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A VAUXHALL..
my corsa bills since 2011
new clutch flywheel etc £928
new 3rd gear £790
exhaust manifold which was cracked £320
EGR valve and oil filter housing (which was leaking) £690
currently the blower doesnt work, the handle on the boot lid needed replacing, glow plug issues, maf sensor replaced, rust issues
Sounds like you had a right lemon, I take it the car was out of warranty.
My Vauxhall experience is as follows.
September 2010 purchased car
September 2011 minor service
September 2012 full service
September 2013 minor service and MOT passed
September 2014 major service and MOT passed (rear sidelight out, dealer replaced at no cost)
In the first 12 months I noticed a slight rattle from the steering wheel cowling, dealership tightened it up, been sweet since.
Along the way I have purchased two headlight bulbs, 3 wiper blades, screenwash and a set of winter tyres.
The car has never broken down or failed to start and is under warranty for another 74,000 miles.
oh, i'll definitely buy one again then. Thanks for that.
How old was the car when you started having problems and what mileage?

Basically the flywheel change isn't a routine one but as you know yourself once the clutch is shoot you may as well change the flywheel too because the gearbox is detached anyway

I wholeheartedly disagree, sorry. People have replaced clutches for decades, and it's only relatively recently that some cars have 'chocolate' flywheels that need changing frequently.

I was a Nissan Service Manager prior to moving to VW, we didn't change a single flywheel in around 8 years.

Yeah I agree... pressure plates wear.. and tbh if I changed a clutch I ony changed the thrust bearing too as it was usually only an extra few quid .... but never fly wheels..
threesixty360
I agree that parts that are made in different countries can be of inferior quality But once again that's the same with every other manufacturer only to cut costs. Vw do charge a premium but you can always buy a Skoda or Seat to save some money and basically be driving the same car.

Using Nissan as the example again, almost every component for them said 'Made in Japan' on the box. Admittedly I'm going back a few years prior to Renault getting involved with them. Skoda's and Seat's are equally pants, but people's expectations are a little lower, hence the reason they do better in customer satisfaction surveys.

p.s. I no longer work with Nissan, and thankfully no longer with VW

I agree with the hefty repair prices but that's the same case with nearly every car these days. I say it all depends on where you bought the car from and if the service history is up to date. If the timing belt has been taken care of, injectors cleaned, turbo cleaned, a good blast on the motorway (to clean diesel dpf) frequent oil changes, filters and your clutch flywheel done you don't need to worry about anything. Yes they are other things extending to the gearbox and suspension system too but these things are for the engines life span. Not to mention people being on the cheap and buying parts that are of inferior quality. You want your car to run for your moneys worth then buy only genuine I say.

THIS is exactly why/how VAG are getting away with charging top dollar for poor quality cars.

Yes, all cars can be expensive to repair, however, some need many more repairs than others - I have worked with Japanese and South Korean brands (as well as VAG), never will they need £5k of repairs in the first 60,000m - more often than not, they need nothing

You can buy a VW or Audi from a vicar who has had it serviced every fortnight - they are literally riddled with design issues and component failures - there's a minimal chance you will get a 'good one', not the other way around.

Proper cars don't have cam/timing belts (they have chains), don't need their flywheel changing as a 'routine' item, and I'd love to know how you go about cleaning your turbo..?

VAG cars are riddled with gearbox and suspension issues too, so it's not just about taking extra good care of your engine.

Finally, you talk about using genuine parts instead of cheap ones. In principle you are totally correct, but this is in my experience/opinion is the problem with VAG junk - all of the genuine parts are cheap tat. Every single component is labelled 'made in Mexico/Brazil/South Africa/China' etc. I honestly don't think anything is made in Germany, except for perhaps the badges, as these seem to be the best bit.

Tbh I didn't reply to your message thoroughly enough so let me elaborate. Basically the flywheel change isn't a routine one but as you know yourself once the clutch is shoot you may as well change the flywheel too because the gearbox is detached anyway. Also I had a common problem with the sticky vanes in my turbo which meant my car would lose boost every time I gave it some throttle and would go into limp mode. So removed the egr (it was caked) and slapped in some Mr muscle foam cleaner down the egr pipe. I know it sounds mad but it actually fixed my problem! Its very well documented online for the mk4 golf tdi. I agree that parts that are made in different countries can be of inferior quality But once again that's the same with every other manufacturer only to cut costs. Vw do charge a premium but you can always buy a Skoda or Seat to save some money and basically be driving the same car.

Yes, totally agree. On my Golf I had to fix the following in the first few months of ownership. Replaced the rear wiper motor, replace the boot lock, repair the glove box handle, replace the brake light switch a number of times, had a faulty fuel level needle which I didn't bother fixing, and then the biggy, which I couldn't fix myself, the three injectors and the camshaft replacement. This is when the main dealer went for my throat and charged 4k. This was a 6 year old car granted but I only kept it for a year. I was afraid of what was going to happen next! Touch wood I haven't had anything go wrong on the Corsa. It just goes. I previously had two Leons. The clutch went on both of them and they both had faulty fuel level indicators and brake light switches. Don't get me wrong, I liked the solid feeling of the Golf, the clunk of the doors closing, the heated seats, the climate control etc, but call me picky but I need a car that'll start when I turn the key in the morning. It doesn't just need to heat my ass but also needs to be able to haul it to and from work without breaking down!

Looks ridiculously overpriced. Would be much better to lease one instead.

Look in the mirror, I'm sure you will find the answer.

Bargain, but the 1.2 is underpowered.

Its aimed at nippers, bodykit & big alloys, small engine helps with insurance.

If you want one with some clout, go for the VXR range.

A smarter way, buy a vauxhall corsa for £3500, keep for 2 years. and then sell it for £2000, +/-£ 500.
you just leased a vauxhall corsa for £1000!

The smarter way is to not buy a corsa in the first place. Horrible cars, and a 2nd hand £3k one will be even worse.

Very cold. Bad deal and very bad car. Much much better cars available in its class.

Agree that the Fiesta is the better car, but it's more expensive to lease.

In order to take advantage of the business Lease prices, couldn't one just set themselves up as a company in Companies House for £15 and get the Business rate?

Each to their own when it comes to taste but in my opinion it looks cheap and tacky. I know that Sheaffer is reputable brand, but I'm surprised they've actually put their name to this.
True, I would have preferred a black pen with the Ferrari logo on the end or on the side slightly smaller.

If leasing is your thing then this seems a good deal especially if it works out less than the depreciation of the car.
Great deal, however even though I'm a Vauxhall fan I'd rather pay the extra and lease the Fiesta ST. The Corsa VXR is getting on a bit now.

Although if this was the Clubsport version I'd be on the phone for one now.

....... And what car do you drive?

I'm guessing it's a single gear bike, a trainee beard and a starbucks coffee.

Lol :)

Hey don't mock him he's "original" probably drives his Mums mk2 fiesta.
Only other cars in this price range were diesel DS3s and Nissan Jukes. For comparison the Fiesta ST was almost £80 a month more for the same 6+23 deal. i thought it was a cracking deal for 12.5k per year!
Wow, think you will find it near impossible to go faster for less in a new car.

But thunderstomp - I think the deal you have actually gone for is far superior to this - 12,500 miles a year for £151 a month is incredible and will certainly beat depreciation. Don't know why anyone would want all this power to only do a measly 6,000 miles a year!

You will love it. I have owned a standard Corsa VXR and now have a Nurburgring and you get plenty of smiles per gallon ;)

There won't be a new Corsa VXR for at least a year, probably 18 months and will certainly cost a lot more than this!

Had Assetto Corsa for a while and like it a lot, looking forward to Project Cars up coming release!

Assetto Corsa can be had for £11.20 and up from various sellers of steam keys... Don't know if such sites are allowed here (cant see why not, they are legit sellers, know people who have put £100s into using these sites with no issues on Steam) but just google or go to one thats a bit like "penguin".

Perhaps my concern is misplaced (I honestly don't know) but one thing that concerns me specifically in relation to Project CARS is that unlike Assetto Corsa it's also being released on the consoles and thus I fear it'll be dumbed down for the console kiddies. I hope not but I'm sure you appreciate the concern.

PC is the lead development platform and there are certainly no signs of dumbing down.
The community has been involved at every stage and i'm really proud of what is being achieved.

Anonknowmouse
This and Project Cars are the two racing games I'm looking forward to on the PC but I hope Pcars is realistic and not Shift.

Don't worry, it's nothing like Shift :D
(I was never fond of that series)
You're answers take away my worries about it so I'll probably get Project cars at some point. :)
I'm pleased that they haven't made a game like the Grid or Shift series. I've just bought the early version of Assetto Corsa today for £14.99 so I'll play that later. Finally GT6 can be traded in, or thrown in the bin. :D
I bought this when it was last on sale and to be honest, it's worth every penny of the full price. I play every racer going from the arcade NFS series to the sim world of iRacing and I always find myself going back to AC; just to do a hot lap of Silverstone in whatever car takes my fancy.

This is however a 'sim racer', as such the menu system is a little raw and not as well presented as say the GT or Forza series. That said this game is all about the feel of driving and turn all the assists off and your skills are really put to the test. To really get the most out of AC (and most other racing games) I recommend a good wheel and pedal set.

I paid full whack for this a few months ago,it was playing superbly until one day I turned it on and the sense of speed in the car was terrible.Feels like im going 30mph when im infact doing 120+mph??Anyways not turned it on now for about 2 months will see if any updates have sorted this issue out.Im using G27 and pedals.Anyone experienced anything similar with AC?

Not had that in this game but just an off chance idea check what FPS is being output, there is the option in game from the loooong right edge of screen menu to show it on screen. Had a similar effect in a few games when I bumped the settings too high for my PC (or relating to vsync)... was doing a fast speed but looked/felt like I was going a lot slower.

The physics feel great but I don't think tire wear, temperatures and variable track conditions have been implemented yet which could have a huge affect on how it feels, rFactor 2 is still my first choice just now.

Check RaceDepartment.com for mods and some organized clean online races, from what I've heard the public lobbies are no better than Grid etc

I can only agree with you mate. Ill stick with rFactor2 for now:)

The physics aint meant to be arcade feel, this is a real racing sim, maybe your to use to codemasters arcade racers or similar.

No, I'm used to M3s and trackdays and such, most of the road cars understeer badly for no reason, and as for the drifting, it's like driving on ice.
