Bargain, but the 1.2 is underpowered.

Its aimed at nippers, bodykit & big alloys, small engine helps with insurance.

If you want one with some clout, go for the VXR range.

A smarter way, buy a vauxhall corsa for £3500, keep for 2 years. and then sell it for £2000, +/-£ 500.
you just leased a vauxhall corsa for £1000!

The smarter way is to not buy a corsa in the first place. Horrible cars, and a 2nd hand £3k one will be even worse.

Very cold. Bad deal and very bad car. Much much better cars available in its class.

Agree that the Fiesta is the better car, but it's more expensive to lease.

Had Assetto Corsa for a while and like it a lot, looking forward to Project Cars up coming release!

Assetto Corsa can be had for £11.20 and up from various sellers of steam keys... Don't know if such sites are allowed here (cant see why not, they are legit sellers, know people who have put £100s into using these sites with no issues on Steam) but just google or go to one thats a bit like "penguin".

Perhaps my concern is misplaced (I honestly don't know) but one thing that concerns me specifically in relation to Project CARS is that unlike Assetto Corsa it's also being released on the consoles and thus I fear it'll be dumbed down for the console kiddies. I hope not but I'm sure you appreciate the concern.

PC is the lead development platform and there are certainly no signs of dumbing down.
The community has been involved at every stage and i'm really proud of what is being achieved.

Anonknowmouse
This and Project Cars are the two racing games I'm looking forward to on the PC but I hope Pcars is realistic and not Shift.

Don't worry, it's nothing like Shift :D
(I was never fond of that series)
You're answers take away my worries about it so I'll probably get Project cars at some point. :)
I'm pleased that they haven't made a game like the Grid or Shift series. I've just bought the early version of Assetto Corsa today for £14.99 so I'll play that later. Finally GT6 can be traded in, or thrown in the bin. :D
I bought this when it was last on sale and to be honest, it's worth every penny of the full price. I play every racer going from the arcade NFS series to the sim world of iRacing and I always find myself going back to AC; just to do a hot lap of Silverstone in whatever car takes my fancy.

This is however a 'sim racer', as such the menu system is a little raw and not as well presented as say the GT or Forza series. That said this game is all about the feel of driving and turn all the assists off and your skills are really put to the test. To really get the most out of AC (and most other racing games) I recommend a good wheel and pedal set.

I paid full whack for this a few months ago,it was playing superbly until one day I turned it on and the sense of speed in the car was terrible.Feels like im going 30mph when im infact doing 120+mph??Anyways not turned it on now for about 2 months will see if any updates have sorted this issue out.Im using G27 and pedals.Anyone experienced anything similar with AC?

Not had that in this game but just an off chance idea check what FPS is being output, there is the option in game from the loooong right edge of screen menu to show it on screen. Had a similar effect in a few games when I bumped the settings too high for my PC (or relating to vsync)... was doing a fast speed but looked/felt like I was going a lot slower.

The physics feel great but I don't think tire wear, temperatures and variable track conditions have been implemented yet which could have a huge affect on how it feels, rFactor 2 is still my first choice just now.

Check RaceDepartment.com for mods and some organized clean online races, from what I've heard the public lobbies are no better than Grid etc

I can only agree with you mate. Ill stick with rFactor2 for now:)

The physics aint meant to be arcade feel, this is a real racing sim, maybe your to use to codemasters arcade racers or similar.

No, I'm used to M3s and trackdays and such, most of the road cars understeer badly for no reason, and as for the drifting, it's like driving on ice.

Surely this is a better deal from a more reputable company:

http://www.firstvehicleleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/vauxhall/corsa/corsa-diesel-hatchback/1.3-cdti-ecoflex-limited-edition-5dr

24 months
10,000 miles per year
Monthly: £113.99 Inc. V.A.T.
Initial: £683.93 Inc. V.A.T.

= £3305.70 over 24 months

Did you end up going for this deal then? I'm also very tempted. Was there any further costs? Admin fees or anything.
Also, is this a personal or business lease?

WHY would you lease when you can get 0% off them and actually buy a car for not a lot more?

http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/offers-finance/finance_my_car/flexible_finance_0_apr.html

Looking at the finance calculator on that zero percent finance deal.

You need to pay £3,352 deposit, 24 months at £527.42 a month which is £12,658, so a total of £16,010. You would then own the car. In two years time according to Parkers the car would have a part exchange of £8,215. Therefore to own it for two years would cost you £7,795.

Or lease as above for £3,616
Very valid if you change cars routinely. However I've had my Focus for 10 years from new and cost £12,000 cash.
So if I leased it would have cost me over £36k using these figures.
As with anything it's down to what is suitable and affordable for each individual.

It wouldn't have cost you £36k to drive around in a 10 year old Focus though - that's the point. You'd have had 4 new cars in the same period.
And cost me 3 times as much to do less than 80k miles.
I'm not against leasing, I'm only saying there are ways to save money on motoring.
Show me a lease for a comparable 115bhp Diesel family hatchback, good handling and for £100 a month, I'll take 2 literally.

It's not just about the cost - it's about spending money to get nice things. Personally I'd rather spend more and drive a smart new car every few years rather than putting up with an old banger. Horses for courses.
We have a much newer Civic so we don't just make do. I'm just stating that sometimes buying new and keeping it can be a good idea too.
Also my car isn't a banger. I've seen rattier looking 13 plates on the road and driven more modern ones with awful dynamics.

why not spend your money on a German car where the depreciation is very minor and cars retain their. value even after 2 or 3 years

The depreciation isn't 'very minor' on German cars. They lose a lower percentage of their initial sales price each year, but as the initial cost was higher in the first place you're still losing an awful lot of money in depreciation.

Yes I can claim that, just looked into it! Will see what my manager says.
Mine is 8k miles on a 6+35 basis, I think the 6k on the G2L site is a mistake.
Try THIS one
I remember speaking to Tilsun and the guy told me that if you asked your employer to give you a letter stating that they would pay you x pence per mile IF you had to use your car for business purposes, then that would suffice. Worth looking into.

I end up spending a load on tyres, went for some bontrager race lites which were fine in london, but got ripped apart in the "shires" so ended up upgrading to some schwalbe marathons which were too squidgy and floppy for my liking, then to schwalbe durano plus which have been fantastic through the winter. I've just gone for some bargainous conti gp4000 S II from a german store at £30 each. Retail for £50 over here. Looking forward to running those through the summer.
Great tyre, but I won't be putting 19s on any of my bikes until they surface the roads with Scandinavian wood.
And after x amount of years on HUKD this is the most dissapointing deal ever posted.
These are cheaper. Puncture proof aswell

These tyres are ace but 19mm what is the goddamm point. They cant give them away even at £9. Will any roadie in the UK really buy them?

Guys, I wouldn't recommend these for your use. 19mm would be useless on the roads round where I live. I'd recommend 23, 25 or even 28 (although you might have trouble with clearance for mudguards) for simple road use in the UK. Indeed, if you start reading right into it, there are newer arguments coming out against the idea that thin = low rolling resitance = fast. Personally, puncture proof is pretty much the only factor I consider now on my commuter.
Thanks. I do live literally 200 meters from a cycling circuit, but I wouldn't want to ride only there. Would 19mm not be ideal for standard cycling paths (around London)?

The TDF wouldn't be allowed on the circuit I'd have thought - things like brakes gears cables etc are not allowed on most tracks. Hence track bikes (or fixies). As for London, I commuted for a couple of years north to west on 23s. I'm not sure I'd have gone lower but it's a personal preference at the end of the day. More rubber = more comfortable ride. I guess at this price you could buy them to try out, then when your fillings fall out you could go back to bigger tyres :)

i have this and pcars and most other racing sims and i play them with my Fanatec CSR Elite + ClubSport Pedals v2 + Clubsport Shifter H Pattern. When my mates come round, they all want to play on it. I play this more than pcars, although pcars is multiplayer beta. I find this more realistic than pcars, but love them both! Get this! Cant comment on 360 pad as i never even thought of trying it. Why would I when i have hardware that cost me £750?
Does anyone know if it will have standard cars that you can do up like in Forza? Hoping for VW Golf and Scirocco in particular.
The physics are good but just now it's hard to tell how good, with the current tire model and surface grip it's like driving in constantly perfect conditions.

Watching some people lapping on YouTube they are very aggressive and using a lot of steering lock with constant tire squeal and no grip penalty, you couldn't do that in real life.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out in the end though.
I totally agree, but I'm not sure the game is that real in that respect. Maybe newer builds are better.
ro53ben
Newton's cradle has great physics, it doesn't make it a good driving game though :)

I think accurate physics modelling is extremely important in a sim, otherwise it's not a sim.

We have an insignia, a 2.0 CDTI Sri, never again would we buy a vauxhall, was ok for the first wee while then the problems started, been brought home from various trips by the RAC and had numerous problems 'fixed', can't wait to get rid of it in the next few months. Just no idea what to get now.

I had an Insignia 2.0 CDTI Sri which I drove for over 30k miles. The only issue I had was with the DPF which did not regenerate correctly. It was my own fault though, as too many short journeys and using a tuning box. I bought the car before I got a local job, so the problem could not be avoided. Maybe that was your problem? Other than that, the Insignia was a great car and I would recommend it to anyone.

i bought my Corsa on a similar deal 2 years ago and no problems - touch wood. the monthly payment is the same as buying a better car secondhad, except it is new and therefore no MOT etc for 3 years. do the maths but for me, buying the new corsa costs me slightly less than buying secondhand and that doesn't count the 100000 mile warranty (as i will most likely never need that). this IS hot, personal prejudices of some notwithstanding.

Turned up to buy it, and it turned out that this was an "vauxhall associates" only deal. And I don't work for one of the companies on the list. It was a complete con, you can't advertise a national deal when it's not available to everyone. Told the dealer to stick their deal where the sun don't shine and bought another BMW instead.

You should've made a complaint to the ASA. The ones I've seen like that have the notice in the footer about the partners/associates discount.

sorry if this seems a silly question but what happens at the end of the lease. Do you have to pay a full balance of any kind?

Hand it back and walk away. Unless you've damaged it or gone over the agreed mileage, then there may be a fee to pay.

its just thé 10 000 miles which kill thèse deals , if you go over you get hammered .

It's just the figure for the basic quotes. If you raise the limit when negotiating before receiving the car it's loads cheaper than when you hand it back.

I think they are getting rid of stock due to new model out shortly.
You might be right. I've also seen some amazing deals on the diesel version of the outgoing 308.

I personally no of no one who has ever paid rrp or pre discounted price for a car.

Depends on the car, your general run of the mill stuff, discounts all round. Something special with a waiting list and discounts will be scarce. To name a few Envoques, Mini Roadsters, Abrath 500s when they we first released discounts were rare.

Also Dacia who don't discount their cars. (supposedly)

Partner had a 1.4 SXI version of these and that felt very slow. Car felt very heavy and generally not a car you can enjoy driving. That 1.0 must be unbearable for anyone not living on flat land. Adding air on to that engine would add 10+ seconds to the 0-60 and be a hazard to other road users lol.

hi all i want to place an order but how save is my money doing a bank transfer?????

Would suggest going for a nearly new 1.4 or above - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/vauxhall/corsa/postcode/pe158ur/radius/1500/engine-size-cars/1-4l_to_1-6l/maximum-age/up_to_1_year_old/sort/default/body-type/hatchback/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/transmission/manual/maximum-mileage/up_to_5000_miles

Autotrader have many, this 1.0L is very underpowered.

This is the 1.4 not the 1.0 and the first few cars on the link you have provided are accident damaged.

The cheapest SXi 5dr on that page is this one

A trunki, and a fairly large handbag, were with me in the front.

The amount of narrow minded idiots on this thread are unbelievable, i would suggest you get back to your mundane lives, instead of trying to dismiss others.

I believed you before, now you've explained I have my doubts.

Children needing 20kg of luggage each to go on a plane.
A large holdall stood up behind your seat. Your seat would have to be that far forward you couldn't possibly get behind the wheel.

This whole scenario sounds horrendously dangerous and I really hope it didn't happen. Please use a taxi service next time rather than putting children's lives at risk.

I was in the passenger seat, especially as i was holding a trunki!
i was going to a country where i was donating clothes and i took along quite a lot of scuba and snorkelling items.

What colour would you say the majority of the clothing was, did this have any impact on your packing?

Good price for this, although for many applications such as in-car, in-pc etc. these have been overtaken by LED technology due to durability, longevity, easier to power etc. However, I have some of these in my son's PC and they look great - buy these now and in 10 years you'll make a profit because it'll be retro!

I know loads of people who have bought Brand new Corsas.

They are usually very good value for money and now come with a lifetime warranty.

It worked out cheaper to buy a brand new corsa than a one year old one when my aunt bought hers last year.

If its pre-registered you do not get the lifetime warranty.

if 100k is a lifetime warranty, I only have four years to live. Shame.

Better save up for your funeral then. Stop blowing all your money on weed.

I did not make up the term lifetime, Vauxhall did and they mean the lifetime of the car not the owner.

try claiming for something in 5 years time and see how you get on

interior parts seats carpets etc one year warranty
brakes discs one year warranty
paintwork one year warranty

engine transmission 3years if you have it serviced on time and the correct schedule clutch sorry no warranty
its not worth the paper its printed on

They have not offered this service for anywhere near 5 years. So you know nothing about how easy or hard it would be to make a claim.

Should they just offer you a warranty and let you just drive the car for 5 years without servicing it or maintaining it properly then fix all the problems that occur?

NO, a car should be serviced and maintained the way the manufacturer specifies.

What do you expect from them?

these have always been around 7995 pre-registered (new) so 15995 is just a rediculous figure plucked from the sky and 10995 is still way too much

You tell me where you can find a 2012 Plate Corsa SXi A/C for £7995.

Also the lifetime warranty is still intact. Even though they are apparantly pre-reg, they are not putting the number plate or tax on until you actually buy the car, so technically the buyer is the first owner
Drive the deal had them just before christmas - they had been pre-registered in september but had zero miles. If a deal like that was available for the same model just a few months ago, then I cannot see haow this can be a good deal

I had one of these as a courtesy car for two days last week it is the worst car i have ever driven 56 mpg i'm not suprised you put your foot down & nothing happens i was on the local ring road i got over 50 mph and the drive was awfull not a safe car to drive over 50, i had 2 near misses in 2 days going onto roudabouts off slip roads in 3rd gear slow down a touch theres a car but were ok onto roundabout foot down nothing there i had too change down i automaticly thought i was in my car which would have shot it's a daewoo matiz 03 so if you're reading this buy a chevvy spark 1,000 cc so much better
