Oh please, cars release far more toxic crap into the atmosphere. The government has bigger things to worry about like brexit.

Why go? You'll get a better view of one of the big displays on television (free). Adjust the volume as you like. And no chance of your child being hit by a stray spark or a firework. He/she will be totally safe!
They won't have to endure anything and you can simply switch it off if it gets too frightening ;)

Because Autistic children LOVE the visual sight of live fireworks but hate / are sensitive to the loud noise , so these are perfect for them

Why keep them at home and prevent them joining in the things they love?

My Grandson with Autism loves music and I am taking him to a concert but will be bringing ear defenders as it will be too loud for him but with these some of the sound will blocked out but he can still watch and enjoy the concert without it being way too loud for him and am sure he will be able to still hear some of the music through these just not enough to cause him distress and I am buying a pair for myself too as loud noises bring on migraines but I still want to relax and enjoy life too
My son is autistic and we use the screwfix ones for when he's sensitive to noise, they work fine and less than £3
emribena
adam78654328
what's the point of a concert then
When it's a family day or Glasto with loud music and the kids don't like it but the parents want to Dad dance!

That doesn't sound like good parenting.
I ended up buying these do £2.79 - they were more than adequate for the job. couldn't hear the wife or kids for hours :-) http://www.screwfix.com/p/ear-defenders-27-6db-snr/6191d
why would you take a child that hates loud noises to a firework display, just reads of selfish adults to me, there's always YouTube if they like the visual aspect, it's not the same but then their self esteem doesn't take a big hit from looking different, obviously this comment does not include the disabled, that's completely different.

I purchased a family pack from Tesco what a mistake that was, I should have known better and purchased from a local shop. My brother in law did this, paid the same amount £60 and received double the amount and significantly louder and a better variety. Won't be making the same mistake next year :(

I'm lucky that I have a specialist firework shop near me , http://www.fireworkcrazy.com, blinking amazing fireworks, so much better than the ones I used to buy in the supermarkets. I know a lot of people don't like private firework parties, but our family all club together and have a really lovely night in the biggest family garden, works out cheaper than all of us heading to an organised display. Then we get to eat inside afterwards especially nice if the weather isn't great. The closest neighbours always watch out of their windows so I don't think we annoy them too much ;)

Don't care about should they be allowed or not. I want what this app is for a good deal. Does anyone have that answer? I have an Asda an Aldi a Lidl and a Tesco near to me plus a professional firework shop but I just want to amaze a few kids faces for half an hour or so not blow craters in the lawn.... any actual help?

100% dedicated firework shop, the difference in quality and even price is enormous

Of the packs I've opened they contain 4 x 18cm and 6 x 14cm sparkly stuff (overall lengths 24cm and 35cm).
Yes they are dummy boxes as I bought 2 of the fountains and was surprised how good they were for a £1 considering the ones that were bought from Asda were rubbish each one lasted about 8 to 10 secs from Poundland .

Went to 2 home bargains, a huge retail one and a high street one. Neither have heard of this deal.
Deal doesn't exist. Usual HUKD goose chase in store carp.
Sometimes(all the time) it works out to be cheaper to pay a quid more to get them delivered from another retailer.
I posted a receipt as evidence and a couple of other people have bought them too! Just because your stores don't stock it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I've been in 2 stores that had them. As for staff members not knowing about it, as someone who works in a supermarket, it is down to poor communication on stock availability. Not all stores stock the same merchandise.
Perhaps you need to go find this...http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/08/12/01/1AF9646D000005DC-3194442-image-a-21_1439339842820.jpg

Receipts easily faked though. I can do it within 10 mins. Yes people on HUKD do go to those kind of levels for the likes and for some heat. You'll be amazed.
Not me though. Got better things to be faking than receipts for sparklers!

lol, thats what they all say. Kidding.

Some deals get 400 heat without anyone knowing anything about the deal, nor anyone actually saying they got the deal in question. Then you get the fakes.

Anyway, about the sparklers... apparently poundland do them, ah nope.. not in my area either. This is what happens when you live in the south, they just do not do deals for us down here.. they feel sorry for the northerners it seems.

The fireworks are fine - It's a fair amount of the people that use them that aren't....

Unfortunatley you cannot refuse sale on the grounds of stupidity. (UKIP supporters would starve!)

As for the whole dogs issue - The sheer amount of owners I see when I'm out on my bike letting their dogs crap everywhere and not pick up is ridiculous...

Cue someone moaning about cyclists...:P
dianneNE
They should not be allowed to sell them in shops. I believe that there should only be organised displays.Apart from people getting injured by the fireworks, it can cause accidents when dogs and cats bolt in front of a car because they are scared. I have 5 dogs and they are terrified of them. At one point fireworks were only set off on bonfire night, now it is all the time - they were even setting them off for halloween :|

Aww. Cancel Xmas too its way too inconvenient.

They stated 99% chance, not 100%. Therefore you could fall into the 1%.

You stated incidentally that they were 100% wrong, which on the basis of the above statement is absolutely wrong!

Thanks for your comments
As fireworks are classed as dangerous goods (explosives) and carriers need to meet various safety requirements no tunnels, carrying under prescribed limits, Placarding and marking of vehicles, obvious higher insurance due to higher risk - you are paying more for delivery than the actual explosives - you are miles better to buy locally than to buy on the internet.

Well we had our fireworks from Lidl last night and they really were a big pile of stinking crap, an absolute waste of money.

We have bought fireworks from Lidl for the last few years and been really pleased. But this year we spent the most we have ever and we were really, really, disappointed. Most were over before I had even walked back to the specified safe distance. Absolute rubbish, never again!

This post might be a little late to be of any help to anyone this November, but maybe if someone is searching for reviews next year this might help. I think I will try mail order next year.
I just bought the sparklers which is a twin pack so 12 in total and they are 18in gold ones. For £1.99:D
Weco.are so much better shame they didnt stick with them...
They should have stuck with Weco.
Aggree its a big shame the loss of Weco.

However, the selection of TNT that lidl have picked this year is a decent selection, at decent prices. They seem to have picked out the best of the supermarkets over the last few years and lowered the price.

Ie, the shot tubes were good when they were £5 at sainsburys, and now they are just £3.99

Galileo rockets were £15 in sainsburys now £6.66 if using 3 for £20.

Few other bits have been reduced too inc the battlestar which is sold by year round seller, and lidl has beaten their price!

We just had the Lidl fireworks and were very impressed with the Ipanema, Boxxer, Firefighter and Voodoo Star. Also had a few Sainsburys fireworks and the Lidl Weco ones were in a totally different league. I would advise any parent wanting to score some points with the kids to get themselves down to Lidl.

These things should be banned and only used in official displays! In the hands of a muppet and your asking for disaster!!

I don't think Kermit uses HUKD

I've been getting these for years as the Ipanema is amazing for the price, they used to do a similar (gold something) 25 shot cake which was a good variation and just as good

You get quite a good garden show for £20 with an Ipanema at start and End and the Cyber box in between

I've got the neighbours coming round so got the above but added 2 x Sainsbury's shot's and a cakes for £15 and got a pyro pack for free (with a token from the paper). £35 all in for what should be decent entertainment for 20 odd people

Is Sainsburys doing another voucher for fire works before bonfire night
I go to a firework display every year where we all take a box of fireworks to help with the cost. Brought my fireworks , got 2 boxes of fireworks (spellbound, £20 each but BOGOF) + my £30 free fireworks. So I got £70 of fireworks for £21! Not worth £70 but defiantly worth £21! Even though on the voucher it says 'not to be used in conjunction with any other offer',Obviously buy one get one free isn't one of the offers! Im one Happy bunny :)
I've been to an 'organised display' where a few fireworks fell over and into the crowd.
hemjshah
You can also put these towards your money off voucher if you have any. i.e. £3 off £30 spend.

Ahh never thought of that one, Ive had a £3 off 20 but always forget to take them back with me! could of been even cheaper ;)
My voucher runs out on 10th November. This is a good deal for people that would normally purchase fireworks. But if your just buying them for the free ones then you're wasting £15+

Not sure why its been expired :/

Glad a couple of people benefited anyway :)
Why expired?

Tonight I bought 3x Ipanema, 2x Boxxer, 1x Firefighter and 1x Voodoo Star

Thanks to OP
I bought the Voodoo Star and the Cocktail of rockets yesterday and lit them last night.

I can recommend the Voodoo Star - good effects for the money and nice colours etc. I was impressed and this works out much better value for the effects than other larger, more expensive multi-shot cakes from other firework suppliers.

However the rockets.....do not bother. They go pretty high and I was expecting a nice effect but was disappointed. They make a noise but the effect is tiny. Would not buy again.

I will try out the Fire Fighter and possibly the Ipanema closer to bonfire night as I have read good reviews and the videos look good.
off to lidl then just what i wanted!
Oh...It's boom banga bang time ;)

True. I will share this deal with my fellow autism mummies. My Daughter is autistic and uses these for visits to theme parks, concerts and festivals etc ...

we really are becoming a nation of softies if people wear ear defenders at a firework display. Like going to watch a film and switching the audio off!

Some fireworks are 120db which is the same as being at a rock concert or a chainsaw going.

These reduce the decibels by about 25db.

90-95db is the same as a lawn mower or hair dryer...

For kids ears which can be sensitive this is a great - as a parent I know I'm protecting their hearing,

Trust me they'll have a great time, they'll feel the heat from the bonfire, feel, see and hear the fireworks but it won't damage their hearing!!

Ear defenders??? What sort of fireworks have you got????

for kids sensitive ears - we're going to a big display and they always moan about them being too loud - at least with these they can't complain!
Park a mile away, no entrance fee :) HTH.

Thankfully, mine are a little older - but when the kids are little they hate the loud noises but love seeing the fireworks. One year, paid a fortune for us all to watch a display - kids got so tired and miserable, we went back to the car so they could sleep - and me and dad and eldest daughter stood outside the car and watched them (yes and this was from the street where every tom, dick and harry could have seen them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) So nice idea OP :3

These are by far the best fireworks you'll find on the high street, I recommend the ipanema cake. Heat added.
Yeah, the 'Ipanema' is actually OK.

The 'FireFighter' was also OK as well and I've got a couple of the 'Voodoo Star' for the 5th, so cannot comment on them yet.

However, I personally think the 'Fire Pack' (£12.99) and 'Cyber Pack' are utter rubbish as are both the 'Skyline' and 'Cocktail' rocket packs.

Maybe they got 'damp' in transit like the 'Aquila' that was recalled.

My advice would be, if going for the 3for2 offer, get 3 x 'Ipanema'.
cheap, but since i live near the Standard Fireworks/Black Cat factory you always get very decent deals from their factory shop. They often give loads of fireworks away almost for free.

The only good thing about this recession is that there are fewer neds/chavs running around the neighbourhood letting off their fireworks. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Gave heat though (_;)

Leave well alone very poor fireworks. Sainsbury's should hang their heads in shame, all smoke fireworks.

Sainsbury's haven't owned Homebase since 2000

I see thanks for the info, you will be very disappointed with your fireworks from them, make sure you put on your smoke goggles. Go to your local garden center and get display fireworks.

i cant give heat to any fireworks deal, simply because ive never understood why people bother. nobody gets the meaning anyway, and they are loud, scare pets and go on all night for days. no consideration for others.

if you want to see fireworks, go to your local organised bonfire and fireworks that police and firemen put on. its cheaper and you will get much more than your moneys worth. plus its out of the way.

Cheap, because they get you in to pay £10 each for a pint and hotdog.

They do look a little disappointing even whilst still in the box but the 2 packs I bought are for a 3yr old to watch so they will be ideal.

Better off buying quality fireworks from a year round supplier these will be cheap with poor effects and dramatically overpriced to start with.

Start here http://www.firework-review.org.uk/ you get some really great deals from any of the suppliers on that site and you won't pay anywhere near what the shops RRPs are and will a much better firework experience
voted hot because its a good deal
everyone on this site seem to think you vote to do you if they like something or not, really wish they would change the stupid vote rules!
its hot deals you only vote cold if the deal is rubbish!
iv put fireworks on a post and everyone has gone on about how bad fireworks are to there animals ect.. and fireworks are a waste of money but this site has nothing to do with that it to give people the chance to get a good deal for something they are after.

Really cant stand the chavs who are not happy with 1 day they have to let fireworks off for weeks on end before and after the event , also working classes who claim to not have much , go out and manage to buy boxes of the stuff....then do anti social behaviour for hours ,also put your house to risk of fire cause half of the brain dead idiots dont know how to use them

You also have idiot shops selling to kids who are clearly not 18 , who then go put them through old grannies letters boxes or tie them to cats.....oh wot fun for the chavs of today
Sainsbury's also selling £30 pack of 9 rockets for £7.40.

Hi all, in my opinion fireworks are brilliant! I love fireworks it brings the family together for special occasions and it's a old tradition.. Why should we stop selling fireworks all together and get them banned? That's pretty much giving in to these idiots! The same idiots who make young males car insurance unaffordable..there are a lot of young male drivers who are very sensible and the same goes for fireworks...lots of people have safe fun times with them...
I feel the best idea is a "fireworks permit" that costs say £100 or so and you have to be over 18 or 21 to have one...if you are caught messing around with them you loose the permit and get a fine. This could work.
Ive spent over £400 on fireworks from two all year round shops.

I spend months planning my display and making sure it is safe.

I dont want to go to a public display as I know what fireworks I want and how I want my display.

I really do not see a problem.

This being said I would not rule out anyone wanting to buy fireworks having to have undergone cat4 training.
the fireworks this year seem to be of very poor quality, by that i mean they are very weak, fizz, pop & bang & thats it no wow factor. We bought ours from Homebase, i wonder if we could take them back under the " If you are not satisfied with this product............!
Voted hot. Having a party tomorrow night with muchos fireworks, neighbours are perfectly ok with it. Will be having more for new years eve too. The local Tescos was packed tonight wih people buying fireworks!!

And who decides who are "responsible people"?, dogs can be easily trained to ignore or even be curious about loud noise.

Buying something called a "100 Shot Barrage" from Aldi and letting it off in your back garden sounds pretty chavvy to me mate!

It's only for a couple of weeks a year. Whilst public displays can be fun they're often full of chavs and idiots. There's nothing better than throwing your own fireworks party. It's one of my favourite nights of the year.

It's a fair point tappy but there are idiots/chavs/etc/etc going about throwing these things in the streets. The less ammunition they have the better!
