Whatever you do, don't stay in the 'Hotel' which is literally 2/3 size shipping containers with no windows or vents - just 2 fans under the BED which keep you awake all night rattling, the whole place shakes when people walk by, and the noise......NO fresh drinking water - you are given 1 little bottle per person to drink. The place was running with water on all the walls when we woke up - I do believe if the fans stopped for some reason you may well suffocate in the night. These are never fit for a family of 4.
Rides were fantastic though......when they weren't shut. Morons wearing/losing sunglasses/hats/flip flops etc causing the rides to be closed over and over whilst they retrieved them. Please Thorpe Park, make them wait until the park closes to retrieve them rather than ruin everyone else's day.
Yes..... I am bitter lol! Never again.

Sorry but i dont give a toss about the newspaper but I am happy for the tickets. Heat added

Would rather buy a couple of packets of Kellogs and gt free tickets off the boxes. That way you get the cereal and the tickets and don't have to give any money to the scum :)

The tickets on the Kellogg's boxes are for a free adult when buying a full paying adult/child ticket,so in other words half price. So not the same as this.
Fake news
Get the paper, cut out the tickets and burn the paper. Job done :)

Cue all the Scousers voting it cold for no other reason than it's The Sun. Whether or not it's a deal.
Yes , those pesky scousers should simply shrug their shoulders and say "oh well, never mind that this scummy rag of **** lied and slandered 96 innocent victims for years and then, on the eve of the anniversary of the same tragedy, that scumbag and excuse for a human-being, Kelvin McKenzie, again attacked the people of the city and Ross Barkley in particular for no apparent reason with an article that can best be described as a disgustingly and crassly- timed crock of excrement, I think I am going to vote this hot because, afterall it is a top deal to get this vile rag for free"

Your being a bit harsh on ross there mate lol

When i was ten, someone threw a brick at my head. It hurt a lot. But, i've got over it and moved on with my life. I haven't looked out for all his FB posts and attacked him at every opportunity. My time has more value than i could ever gain by doing that. For the record, i would never buy The Sun. Because it's a **** newspaper, it contains no news. Not because it once published something that offended me.
What a ridiculous comparison. Did you lose your life? - No
Did the the person who then threw a brick at your head publish a series of lies in the biggest selling newspaper in the country that blamed youfor the incident? - no
Did they take part in an orchestrated cover-up that caused your family a quarter of a century of pain and hurt- no
So, sorry if some people don't think that your crass and pathetic comparison holds water
If you looks at deals master.g has posted them Manchester United get posted a few times, explains it all.
Can i have that in English please? Two of my deals mention Manchester United. Both were guaranteed wins on BET365, therefore great deals. Now, even if you don't like gambling or BET365 in particular, they still remained great deals. For the record, i live less than four miles from Anfield and would not pay a penny for The Sun. However, this is a forum for posting money saving deals, not for perpetuating a ridiculous, self-righteous campaign that was supposedly won last year.
"Perpetuating a ridiculous, self-righteous campaign" - have you ever considered a careeer as a Sun journalist as you seem to be the ideal sort of person for such a job?
The Sun is the literary equivalent of the Labour Party.

The comfort caravan is where you go to cry when you see the state of your £10 accommodation :D
Mine was a disaster in the caravan I booked in Devon last year. They put us in the smallest oldest caravan that shouldn't even been in use. Was awful, just be careful when booking as they throw you the accommodation dregs

booked a holiday using the codes, being told that the entertainment passes (which on my email from Breakfree state OPTIONAL) are infact NOT optional, but I can decline them (?) - and that I will NOT be able to access any entertainment (obviously) but no access to Bar/ Restaurant/ On site Shop/ Outdoor play area either, if these are not purchased. Seems extreme!! I have declined the passes for one of my bookings as it is a short stay, but if someone can clarify if your passes are needed for the play area, shop etc - for any site, I would be very grateful.
Not sure if it works like this at all parks, but certainly for Haven and Park resorts, it works like this....
The entertainment passes will automatically be added to your booking, but then when you get the invoice from the park operator you can simply drop them a line and ask for them to be removed.
On arrival at the park, they will probably try to flog you some passes but again you can decline.
Without passes you can certainly get access to most facilities - Pub, Shop, Play area etc - Obviously you can't access the pools or show-bar, but everything else should be fine.
What you will probably find is that in the evenings they will have somebody checking passes at the entrance to the show-bar. Sometimes due to the layout of the entertainment complex, the person checking passes might be at the entrance to the complex (where the arcade machines are etc). Though from my experience if you explain that you don't have passes and simply want to get to the arcade machines / pub etc, they'll just let you in.
A couple of times with Haven I've had the passes removed, but they have still included them anyway for free!
To be honest if you're worried it's not really an issue as you can have them removed from the booking, but then when you get to the park if you find something you can't access, you can always pop to reception and they will sell you some entertainment passes.

This pretty much sum's up my experiences of cancelling the entertainment passes on over 40 of these holiday's.

I've never been denied access to the shop or the children's play area, but there are some parks where the only bar and restaurant are in the same open plan room as the stage, then it's off limit's unless you pay for the passes. Most park's however are more than happy for you to spend your money at the bar and in the restaurants (it's where they make their money out of these deals), so including entertainment passes even if you haven't paid for them is in their interest.

If they advertise the voucher/coupon in the e edition of metro then surely they must accept a printed version.
I've never had one refused :-)
It is not really they intended to advertise on the e-edition of Metro. They advertised on the paper version but as Metro puts up the entire newspaper on its e-edition being a free newspaper. As others have mentioned it all depends on store staff as my store even helps customers spending over £40 by scanning a voucher given to checkout staff by other customers. Obviously they also accept the printed edition as long it scans (printed clearly).
I don't think this thread should be expired? Voucher can be used up until end of October 28th. I used a printed version of the voucher.

Yea when I was at poly I spent my money on beer and some chips afterwards, but I thought things had changed these days, even fresher's week is like a convent so I hear, half price prezzo pizza should suit the new wave just fine!
Hmmm...in the days of the Polytechnics, which were gradually phased out after 1992, students got reasonably sized grants -- which of course they didn't have to pay back. Surely you could have afforded more than just beer and chips? :p:D

luckily i got a lazy attendant and she didnt cross out coupon. Will be back later for my son to get his own
I wonder what some Daily Mail readers will think when they realise this x-wing is the black colour scheme instead of the traditional white one.
Cool a free Xenophobic Wing. Had always wondered what the X stood for.

We have a new one opened in Eaton Socon this week and it has self scan tills. I spent over £40 today (before seeing this post) but as I had 6 bottles of mulled wine, I would have been out of luck with £5 off. As mentioned, it is difficult to spend £40 in Lidl unless there are good offers on stuff you want to stock up on.

Thank you. We don't get "free" Hunts Post. I get it on line so may have to buy one if I want money off. Good store and checkouts were manned. Seems nicer than St Neots Lidl which is nearest for me.

Do you find they accept printed forms?
Most of the time, they happily offer to help you split your shopping into £40 transactions so you can use multiple vouchers (one per transaction of £40+). Occasionally I've been asked where I got it - I just say "Metro's online newspaper", which is exactly where I screenshot and cropped it out from ;)

I've never had any issues (used about 15 vouchers), but I've heard some places have cashiers refuse it...

the Booking site is still open, cant find a date that it closes but must be pretty soon
it looks like tomorrow (Fri 23rd Sept) is the last day to book,
i searched their site to find out when booking closes and all i found was one line saying that any applications received after that date will be returned to sender,
thats obviously for postal applications so i assume the booking site will close then as well

i expect the next promotion will be middle of January as thats when they have done them before

On my bill I see breakup as :-
Accommodation 38.00
Power Charge 36.00
Sub total 74.00
Your Extras
1 x Linen 16.00
3 x Entertainment Pass 45.00
Sub total 61.00
Total amount 135 - paid 38 - still due 97 - is that right? Even if I took out the entertainment pass - it's still 52 more to pay - not so much the 9.50 PP offer. I am doing this the first time hence seeking opinions if I miss something here.
Thanks.

you have to pay the service charge (power charge) unless you choose a "£9.50 no Extra's" date*
the linnen and passes are optional

*they do quite a lot of dates/parks with no service charge to pay https://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/2016/950avail

Thx so much OP .
My printed voucher is not clear and can't see terms and condition.
How can I get good clear voucher .
The print from # 20 should be as clear as the original voucher - Try using "landscape" mode (Usually under "Orientation" or similar on your printer's menu) - or the essential barcode will be missing
It's all about the barcode - If it scans first time they will probably accept it - from whatever source
If not use a friend's printer or your local libraryIf your local Lidl accepts a printed voucher then this will be acceptable
Thanks jimmy
The voucher is also in the Metro and Daily Mail on Friday September 2nd

Thanks for posting, I printed the voucher and also got it accepted.
I took the same print to local lidl .after few glitches they accepted it .

Log in with 2 tabs open. 1 for each booking for 4. They do have some 3 bed vans that could be 8 birth? I think there is a timed window of 15 or 30 mins for you to compleat booking, but as long as you got an avalible booking open on each browser tab ready to confirm, you should be good to go. You could always use 2 devices at the same time if avalible to you and make bookings that way. Doubt you will get van together however phone them after booking to see what they can do.
after a bit of help, I've put in for 8 people, and got the site and date I want, but it says 1 standard unit for accommodation. How can I change it to make sure I have two caravans?

or do I have to book it for 4 people, then risk another booking being available again for 4 people?
Just checked again and it works! Thanks

Can't get it to work. Says codes invalid

ive just tried the site using the codes and a fake email addy.. it let me in,
the only reason i can see why it would say invalid codes is if you'd spelt one wrong,
so double check your spelling

Compadre, that's what makes us individuals, if we all liked the same thing, what a soporific world it would be.

True... personally I wouldn't take any paper newspaper for free regardless of whether I like the content, but this is still a good deal for those who would.
Can't believe Waitrose has sunk to that level! The DM is bad enough, but The Sun is a new low. What's next? Sunday Sport?! Next, they'll be relaxing the dress code.
pna1
That Waitrose would even consider stocking that rag The Sun fills me with despair
It's the UK's most popular newspaper apparently.

If they didn't sell it, they wouldn't stock it.

Funny that some actually still believe Governments... be it left or right wing are on the side of the people ;)
Uncle Rupert must be hurting a lot by now, since paper media is dying anyways and he seems desperate for more mugs who pay to read the right wing **** propaganda.

ANy idea how much they are making on the online subscriptions? Even that must be down by now. (hopefully).

Cant wait for this scum to die out and never recover, but alas, even the bankers on their morning commute read "The Sun". What can Britain expect at those levels?
Can you cancel anytime in the last month, as long as there are more than 15 days to go?

These companies always try to catch you out.

Cold... comical right wing lies and spin

Cold - just for their non-reaction to the Hillsborough inquest

Lot of ill-informed idiots on here who won't let the facts get in the way of their left-wing prejudices. Re the last quote above, the paper did in fact cover the inquest verdict quite extensively. Their second edition of the day after the verdict splashed it over the front page, and there were many articles covering the inquest before the verdict and about the verdict and it's consequences. The Times is not The Sun, even if it is owned by the same group.

Ive just booked a holiday but i only put down me my partner n my 11yr old, ive also got a 4 yr old a 3 yr old and a newborn, do u think ill get them in ok as ive not paid for them?

Could have listed the 4 year old as the offer is for a minimum of 4 people. No they are very unlikely to notice, the caravans sleep a min of 6 people. Take your own bedding.

This BreakFree Offer seems to be re-issued as I booked 2 holidays early January.

Ok cool, so is that a normal my waitrose card? Or a special one for 10% off shopping? Can we not load up x48 cans, newspaper, magazine and coffee in one day?

Normal my waitrose card that I've had for years and a paper 10% discount card that they recently sent me to use with it

I could stock up with multiple packs all at once but I'm happy getting a couple a day for the lowest price possible when combined with free mag/paper/coffee.

I've still got about 100 cans of coke zero from when they were 1p in Tesco last year and I'm getting free 1.75l bottles of coke zero from Asda/Sainsburys right now so don't really want to waste too much money on topping up my can stash

Edited By: aau1 on Mar 25, 2016 21:07

Receive when mine arrived!
aau1: Did they send you that discount card along with a new MyWaitrose card? If so, maybe I should register a (totally not imaginary) family member for their own MyWaitrose card...
