Orange Flavoured Milk Chocolate Segments 160g 50p @ Tesco

Not sure if this is national or not but in St. Stephens (Hull) store these have been reduced from £1 to 50p. Taste just as good, if not better, than Terry's.

Saw the Strawberry Tropical Calippo lip balms in Trongate yesterday, might get some more for stockings :)
snowflake75
didn't know they had a freezer sectiob

They're lip balms
In case anyone's curious about the flavours, some aren't as obvious as others (from the above reviews):

Starship 4 looks like a rocket pop style popsicle. The lip balm is a very distinct Lip Smacker grape which is fine by me, the more grape they do the better

Feast looks like a chocolate lover’s dream on a stick. :) Bonne Bell always does well with chocolate flavors!

Twister is my favorite from the set! It’s described as “pineapple ice cream and lemon-lime flavoured fruit ice on the outside and strawberry on the inside.”
I definitely pick up on these flavors, especially a creamy pineapple-strawberry and lime.

Strawberry Split is the classic strawberry, while Funny Feet is a creamier strawberry vanilla

Mini Milk trio (are) in their respective flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla.

About the Calippos:
The flavors seem to be slightly enhanced versions of their current Bonne Bell Lip Smacker counterparts: Lemon Lime is more lemon-y than Sprite, Strawberry Tropical is more strawberry-y than Tropical Punch, and Orange has a stronger citrus scent than Orange Juice.
good find op, heat added
Ah, it's been on HUKD already (tried various search terms and nothing came up - sorry!) http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/walls-lip-smacker-mini-milk-lip-balm-2-for-1-poundland-2487430

I don't know how they are allowed to sell this stuff, It's so sweet. Hardly surprising we have the obesity problem in this country especially with kids. Cold.
They're no added sugar though Jamie Oliver, the sweetness is fruit juice.
They are full of artificial sweetener called Aspartame. This stuff tricks the brain to think its had sugar but the body doesn't get it. This then causes the body to crave more sugar by ways of sugary foods. Downward spiral in my opinion.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with aspartame. You, along with thousands of others, have been reading too many conspiracy theories. Don't believe everything that you read on the Internet or some school mum's Facebook page.

A sheep's foot blade is far sturdier and more suited to outdoor pursuits. This things a stabbing knife.
I would never post anything on here that promoted violence or simply for kicks - I did a bit of reading before I posted this and was surprised at the glowing reviews it got. I know quite a few men who are into fishing, camping, even mountaineering (in his youth anyway!) and posted with them in mind. The Youtube reviews below compare the Ganzo to much more expensive paramilitary-style knives and they reckon it's the best budget option out there.

Sorry if I've offended anyone, it wasn't my intention.
Absolutely no offence taken. But "paramilitary-style knives" says it all. This is a more practical outdoor knife.
Because the majority of stabbings in londinistan don't involve ordinary kitchen knives. It makes not a jot what the knife is described as, it's a knife that does sweet fa. The person using it on the other hand.
A pencil is a stabbing tool in the right hands. Ban them!!

I live in Glasgow (right next to the city centre), which was the murder capital of Europe at one point, depending where you read the info. Stop and search does happen, but it tends to be those "known" to the police or acting shiftily - and they need to have good justification to do so.

Violent people will always find a weapon and an outlet, I posted this Deal with only good intentions :)

I've read about this sort of thing happening. I wouldn't say they're fakes but I think the fact that Amazon buys in large quantities and so the EDT's sit in their warehouse their scents can sometimes "go off?" - not sure how to phrase it.
I'm no armchair expert but have seen some people saying it before on other aftershave/perfume posts.

I personally haven't had a problem with them but I prefer to buy from Amazon's 3rd party sellers now having heard, and as they're smaller companies, have less sitting around in a warehouse than Amazon.

They have stores throughout East Anglia, ...

I heard they closed their store in Colchester last month as they could no longer afford the rent
http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/13619354.QD_to_shut_after_it_is_outbid_on_rent/

From their store finder, they've not opened another one there. Nor is there one in Chelmsford.

But all is not lost, there's still one in Clacton! :D

I think that tells you the type of store, and their target market, we are dealing with here.

Edit: Apparantly, the “large national company” that outbid QD on the rent was PoundLand, which already has two stores in the town oO

THESE ARE NOT ORIGINAL - the cheap ones always have less segments
Really? They look the same size to me, and actually in what way do you mean not original? It's a Terry's Chocolate Orange, not a fake one, so best not to SHOUT! ;)
These weren't cheap originally, they've just been reduced to 99p as part of their 30th Birthday.
My mum used to work in their factory and she used to be allowed to take home 'rejected' ones for free (wrong shape, wrong ingredients, wrong size, missing etc). Then some bright spark at the company decided to sell them to discount stores and pound shops instead.
Fair enough, you must be sick of eating these things.
Can't say I'd notice though, and tbh if I've paid 99p, I'm not going to worry too much if I've lost a few segments. However, I would be worried if I'd paid £3.25 as someone mentioned and the only difference is I've got a couple of extra segments ...see what I mean? I could buy 3 of these (actually I got 5!) and still have change.;)
Yeah but i don't get sick of eating them. Fun Trivia, my mum was told they don't use any real orange in them! or anything related to orange, so thats why they had to shape it like an orange in order to keep the name after they got sued for false advertising.
What shape was it before? oO

i believe it was a flat bar similar to dairy milk. they tried using marmalade filling inside the chocolate before they decided to change the shape.

What a shame, I thought they count as one of your 5 a day! LOL :D

I know man! my ideal 5 a day: chocolate orange/jaffa cakes, strawberry bon bons; pear drops: cherryade, opal fruits

Cannot fault at the price, fine for average size adult, smart, sturdy and trendy, no complaints. Picked up 2 of these, box is massive, the store were kind enough to re-cycle the carton otherwise would not have got them in the car.
Got 2 when posted a couple of weeks ago, they are pretty robust and quite wide, used them last Saturday, friends thought they were really 'funky'.
Just to note I picked mine up from the store, they were in 2 huge boxes had to take them out to get them in my car.
they look very nice.
who has used them? please give some feedback.
thank you
ok, but quality not so good.no way they were 30 quid, got 4 of them last month, will do for now. could not be bothered to take them back,

How to enjoy O2 Priority moments on other networks

21
How to get O2 Priority moments... when not on O2? What is O2 Priority? First off, just what is O2 Priority? Well if you don’t already know, O2 Priority is a pretty awesome rewards programme for O2…

[quote=daifey]I think O2 priority offers should be restricted to o2 customers only. I don't think it's wise to encourage people on other networks to use this. Sometimes, certain offers are limited to a certain amount of numbers. I would be very annoyed if I missed out on some offers knowing that people who are not even O2 customers have managed to obtain it.
If you have an o2 sim and number then you are a customer of o2, whether you use that number or not. So you get the perks without the inconvenience of moving to o2 and the hassle it entails
As AGrumpyDad and I have written, these are strictly speaking not perks but are advertising promotions for the purposes of increasing sales and specifically "foot fall" into the shops. It is wrong to think of them perks because perks is short for perquisites. These are various types of non-wage compensation provided to employees in addition to their normal wages or salaries. (There is another meaning but that's related to a right especially a hereditary or official right.)
What about Orange Wednesdays then, how comes not everybody can take advantage of them?
Yes, they could - you could just get an Orange customer to forward the code.
according to Cambridge dictionary - one meaning is:
an advantage:
Having such easy access to some of the best cinema and theatre is one of the perks of living in Sydney.

So o2 priority is an advantage.
anyway priority moments is something for nothing so must be a good deal - I have had buckets, sponges, car shampoo and now screenwash all for zero. I dont even need to go out of my way - just when passing the out of town halfords when on my way home from work. Zero cost to me and Halfords/o2 must be paying in some way.

What about Orange Wednesdays then, how comes not everybody can take advantage of them?
Technically nobody can take advantage of them now, being as it no longer exists. But Orange customers paid for that 2-for-1 promotion in the form of a 35p charge to get the code. That said, you did not have to be an active user for that either. just needed to put the SIM in to text for a code.
But the Orange Wednesday promotion differed greatly from Moments. With moments absolutely anyone can create a promotion and share it. Orange Wednesdays was very specific.
The problem here is your fixed viewpoint that these companies offer these promotions as a benefit, or token of gratitude for your custom. That is not the case at all.
You have to understand that when a business hits multinational enterprise level, they no longer care about customer loyalty. It is all about the figures for the shareholders. This is why the networks all carry two sets of figures for their customer base. There is the active customer count and the total customer base. The profit margin on services like text messages, phone calls etc is huge. Which is why they don't care much about charging for them, and offer bundles and packages.
What really counts to them is market share. A promotion gets more customers, increasing market share,in turn making the company more attractive and having a positive effect on the share price. That is worth more to them than having all of the customers using the promotion being active customers.
When O2 started with Priority and Moments, they were very open about it being a tool to increase market share. I don't have the time to track down the shareholder documents, but I'm sure they are online somewhere. Inactive customers are almost as valuable as active.
Active customers may help generate significant profit, but if they can demonstrate greater market share by tallying the total Priority and Moments app downloads, ignoring network activity of the user after the download, that makes their business more valuable, and that is key.
So Orange Wednesdays didn't need you to be active, just to text or call for a code. You could get a PAYG SIM, have the initial £10 credit from when you bought it, shove it in an old phone and just turn it on when you wanted tickets.
Moments is a little bit like Facebook. You need to stop seeing yourself as a customer and realise that you are actually the product being sold.
In a perverse way and extreme way, this sales and promotional technique is used to promote Islamic phobia and floods of immigrants. A tiniest number of extreme active Muslims is combined as one group with huge number of inactive and never will be active "customers". Likewise 600 million could potentially come to Britain from the EU. Yes, temptation to fear from a few, temptation to a few trinkets, are similar merchandising techniques. One is to increase foot fall, the other is to increase consent, a kind of foot fall into a political camp.
thewongwing101
Regardless of the semantics it isn't a freebie you have as far as I am aware to top up £10 to activate the sim (_;)

No, you can order a free SIM and just put it in the phone,no top up required.

i think their usual pineapple price is 69p for a long while, but i am not sure how large will that XL be!
Just bought one yesterday, not very large comapred to the usual size.

This must the strangest freebie that I have ever come across. There is nothing for one to do to get it, EE tells you you got it free by text, so you know already. A bit like telling folks here you get free bin liners from the council, you don't have to do anything and the free bin liners come automatically and you would know about it when they are popped through your letterbox.
you must live in one of those grotty northern towns, where the poor people chuck bags of rubbish in to the street for foxes, birds and only old weirdo to rummage through.
Free bin liners, I've never heard of such a thing.

I've lived in a number of places in the North and Midlands. Never heard of free bin liners from the council. I assume it must be a London thing.

We get plenty of free bin liners from various charities, they kindly give us two or three a week.

How much sugar does this stuff have in comparison to the non-value range?
For the apple juice
This one on offer has 19.2g per 200mlhttp://img.tesco.com/Groceries/pi/414/5000436779414/IDShot_225x225.jpg
Tescos £1 apple juice here has around 24g of sugar per 200mlhttp://img.tesco.com/Groceries/pi/152/5051140367152/IDShot_225x225.jpg
Innocent pure apple juice, for comparison is 19g per 200mlhttp://img.tesco.com/Groceries/pi/500/5038862104500/IDShot_225x225.jpg
So it's cheaper and better for you WIN-WIN :)

still 65p on website

Yeah i saw that but seems Tesco have been clearing out a few ranges recently for redesigning or whatever . And since this is a common thing to find in most tescos figured itd be worth seeing if it scans at 33p, the same as this, in other stores

Price now bumped up to £174.99....Oh well.
noodler
Price has gone up to £114.99. Still tempted to take it at that, but I've a question (sorry for the newbie question, but I'm not up to speed on how this works.);
I've got a Virgin Media package and I've been on a Virgin contract for the last 4 years, with my current one (£10 p/month tariff including the cost of the phone, a Galaxy Ace 2) is ending in about 2 weeks. I want to take up the £8 p/month sim only contract after that and get my own new phone (I suspect they won't automatically put me on the lower cost tariff it even though the old phone is paid off by then).
Anyhow, can I use my Virgin pay monthly Sim in this phone assuming it does come unlocked? Virgin offer the same phone on the same £8 tariff, but want £17 p/month to cover the cost of the phone over 2 years, so I'd end up paying £216 for it overall.
I understand this model uses a micro-sim so I would need to order a new card from Virgin for that (current one is mini) but if that's the only obstacle I would prefer to go with this option and flog the old one off on ebay (it's in mint condition with some extras so I could hopefully get about £50 for it).
You'll be able to use a virgin sim if it is unlocked (assume it will be as mine was and CPW phones normally are.

You can also get this deal with t-mobile on tesco website, for more data but less minutes, 1GB of data and 100 minutes. I have a feeling this is for 3G data though not 4G. Also if you are interested in having the latest phone, it is rumored the Z4 which will be a big upgrade from the Z3 (apparently) and i would imagine that will hit the market no later than May considering the Z range product life cycle, but obviously at a much higher price. I think this a great deal for big wifi and text users who make the occasional call and check the odd email on the move. Excellent find, heat from me.
Anyone know if you can add more data to an Orange contract as a "bolt on", and if so how much it costs?

Not everyone is a high user. I have 500mb but never go over 100mb as virtually always on wifi.
