Cheers smyth.. will update when it / if it changes down again :{
Expired as now £49.
I asked the seller and he says that it will only last a maximum year, i was asking if i bought this and only used in on one device (my pc) then i could not continue using it for 5 years. I have went on and bought it as i know some people need a copy too so works out really cheap over the year! Thanks op

can you stack this as in get office 365 for 5 years by using it only on one PC? also do i need to set up a microsoft account?
No, all five users' installs expire at the same date. You can't stack each user in the one year subscription to make it five years.
>>>>>
Have you got nothing else to do, other than post negative remarks about everything in this thread? You purchased it direct from MS, then you did not, then you saved a £1 by buying it again, then you
state that it is not what you wanted, then it is not good enough for you as you do not need 5 devices
and now you are either struggling to use the purchase correctly [if you ever did buy one] to do what
many hundreds of buyers have been able to do..

There are a *few* MS accounts that will not be able to stack or extend or use these codes for the
longer term, mainly those that are old and obviously not real to MS, some that are old and have
used mickey mouse codes in the past that were scrapped from old oem junked hardwares and a
few accounts where people have opened one, paid, then opened another, used a mickey mouse
code and then struggled to follow the instructions supplied by this seller..
Try and keep your comments, at least if you are going to repetitively flame a thread on hukd to
at least one bit of common sense..

I think either I or you have misunderstood bobjeet. I take his question to be whether using the SINGLE code, or two sets of codes for the total of one year, with each giving one year per user x5, does that mean each user can be stacked five times to give you five years from one single purchase? My understanding is you can't, or what would be the point in buying more codes if one year's (premium) worth lasts for five years?

...except you can get Office 365/12 month for around £20 on eBay and 12 months Xbl around £20 from CDKEYS.
I think everyone on HUKD must know that by now!!!
This is the five user version of Office 365/12 so best price on ebay I have seen is £50+. Also includes £40 MS voucher for Apps/Xbox etc so seemed reasonable if the Skype or support options are useful to people.

But there are at least two methods of converting personal to home for little £ or sacrificing a couple of months. And you get Skype with that too.

Even with your method...£50 for 365 and a £20 sub off eBay for live and £40 out of your own pocket instead of a voucher, well, you are still paying £9 more!

Anyway don't listen to me, look at temperature in here buddy.

I'm retired now so my need for Office software is far less these days than when I was working.
However, in years gone by, I used to truly despise Microsoft Office! You just got used to how it worked and then my company would move en masse to the upgraded version and Office would be so messed about, that you would virtually have to learn it over again. And then a few years later it would happen again. Sometime MS would even reinstate things they had taken out of the previous version! I always thought that Office upgrades were always far more about making more money for MS than making things better for their users.
Anyhow I voted with my feet and stuck as long as I possibly could to using the 1995 version of Lotus 123. It was easy to use, did complex stuff when it needed to and importantly, never changed!
Amen .. & I recall Worperfect 5.1 when I was a veryyyyyy small wee one too?, & luvvvvvvv'ed it!, but ..... (c'est la vie?)
The days of a bygone era, huh? (ahhhhhhh well?), lol. :-)

I can still remember WordStar which predated WordPerfect. I can also remember using a Commodore PET, CP/M and a positively ancient Osborne PC which I think I'm correct in saying, used 8" floppies!

Good if you absolutely have to have Microsoft Office but we have recently downloaded the freely available LibraOffice and think it's just as good.
Libra office is good but I feel its not got quite the same polish as office 365, don't agree with the subscription based model though

Amen to that!, I cant stand the subscription based method that they've sneakily chosen to jump onto either? (personally speaking ... )

But at least Libre is TOTALLY FREE!, so u cant negate the usefulness for an otherwise totally FREE Product now/however?, can u .....
Thankyou op

update your Skype to latest version ( Skype for Desktop as it has replaced the Windows Skype App and then uninstall the App) if you are using Windows.
Open Skype and you will see a virgin media promotion of 100 free minutes when you login into Skype.
Click on the offer and it will ask you to fill your details. After that you will receive code in your email to redeem 100 minutes or £2.
Unfortunately Skype has some problems at the minute if you are using Mac.
hope it helps.

It's a pity they don't do it for other afflicted countries.
is it happening again, viber has given the free call thing (for another 2 days ) and I got through today, it was a good line, it was nice being able to speak, knowing the low viber credit i had didn't matter, and knowing those who one cares about are safe.

Completely agree with you on Nepal, and definitely believe more should be done.
But disagree with you on Gaza/Palestinian - it's never been self inflicted- they had no choice when their land were taken over by oppressors brutally in 1948, and every couple of years more lands are confiscated and more are killed.
The whole of Gaza is under siege by Israel , it's the world's biggest prison. "Israel continues to maintain exclusive control of Gaza's airspace and the territorial waters, just as it has since it occupied the Gaza Strip in 1967." (btselem.org), hence even controlling the amount foods that goes into Gaza.
Sadly whole Palestinian nation is being terminated/ extinct slowly whilst israeli/Zionists/pro-Zionists lying about the true situations by using their media, money and world influence.
In the words Nelson Mandela "We South Africans cannot consider ourselves free until the Palestinian People are free”.
A great read for understanding the truth about Palestine/Gaza by Ronnie Kasrils- South Africa's Deputy Minister of Defence: http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2014/09/gaza-crime-crimes-201492664043551756.html

The manufacturers leaflet suggests that all IP telephony is via a PC & Skype [subject to no longer supported per above comments], & not independent in any way.
http://www.rtx.dk/files/filer/pdf/ecom/produktblade_3058.pdf

If anyone does want to get into DECT based IP based telephony with VoIP/SIP (and no computer, and potentially no landline!) then I recommend having a look at the Gigaset N300/N300A DECT base stations from around £60, eg
http://www.gigaset.com/en_UK/shop/gigaset-n300-ip.html

This phone is no longer supported by the updated version of Skype. The manufacturer's website also stated this phone is not skype certificated and supported.
Was just about to post that as well.

tried many times same message 1-2 business days
Triadian : how do u figure that out technically? and how can u say that it's still available ? and it's just captcha problem?
technically the offer is still available if/when the captcha gives you one to solve - which doesnt seem to be very often, not sure if anyone has had one in the last 24 hours or not though.
Is this still availabel
fixed their add? what do u mean vasya?

it's currently broken, because of recaptcha malfunctioning.

Thank you very much! Just tried this. Seems to have worked great :-)
What happens at renewal? My 1 year home is about to expire - should I start again, buy 1 yr personal and switch to home then cancel?
Azzin
A question for those of us that bought up 4 years when this first went live, can we still buy a cheap copy of Personal and convert it to Home to extend for another year?

I believe you either have the choice of:
1) Cashing in Personal account credits against your existing Home sub at a rate of each 12 months Personal code gets you a 9 month extension on Home

2) Or you will have to let you Home level subscription expire fully, then add 1-4yrs of Personal Sub credits, then you can do same (1 month payment for Home then cancel auto renew) to convert all your Personal credit into same length Home credit for 1x monthly Home cost.
The problem with option 2 is I don't know what exactly happens to your OneDrive storage and any associated Home accounts at the point your 365 sub fully expires...I would presume your OneDrive goes into Read Only mode due to being over your storage limit...but it's *possible* MS could delete stuff?

If anyone has done 2nd method to take advantage of this loophole a 2nd time what happened to your account when in expired? And then how much did you have to put back once you'd re-subscribed?

Awesome. Worked a treat. Thanks heaps.

How is Skype working on Samsung TVs? I suppose you need to have the tv on in order to receive calls and do you need to manually start the Skype app also?

Smart TV, so internet connected, Skype is just an app that runs on them.

Not sure if it can 'auto sign in', but yes TV would need to be on.

Technically they are getting less richer if you buy the iTunes credit with 20% off

Anyway Panorama reports should be treated with a little bit of caution. The story they presented wasn't new, those stories have been around for a while.
you sound like an apple employee
It defies logic. how devoted they are to defending a company who's sole puprose is to milk them for all their worth and blame them for misuse of their products when they fail. smh

Also, because this relies on the purchase of a phone to receive, it is really a deal not a freebie.

Is that not the same then for a lot of apps or games posted free, eg an iOS exclusive game/app that goes free? Because you have to have bought an iOS device to benefit from the offer?

Very true NigelK, some people have to try to moan about something. So skype is not used on a purchased item e.g. Pc, tablet, phone. So his comment is null and void.

Anyway I thought I expired this!

This works fine as a video camera, if you have the right Windows drivers (otherwise it's limited to some silly resolution) and also works fine as a standard UVC webcam on Linux and Mac...

...but the sound doesn't - because while it appears as a standard USB sound source there's several seconds lag every single time you try to record from it.

So, Windows + right drivers (I've used it under Win7) good, everything else, bad.
What programme are good to create Web videos
Mine don't work with XP... win7 fine, but can't change the record directory from C:

They're really not too bad. I mean, they're no Neumann U87s but, for a cheap UBS plug and go, they're good - certainly better than other Chinese me-too alternatives.
Are these anywhere near professional quality?
They look a little gimmicky, but that's only because I know very little about them.

---UPDATE---

"With a dual-capsule CD-quality microphone inside that pale round orb, the Snowball only supports 44.1 kHz / 16-bit digital output - no traditional analog mixing. This isn't a sound studio or professional-grade microphone, but rather just a high-end one for personal and semi-professional uses. "

Just register with SKYPE, having your account you will be able to use the service dialing the 0800 number you want to connect to. If you have a laptop you dont have to connect a mic or speakers but use the service straight away. You basically use your computer to communicate to another user using mic and speakers connected to your PC - no need to connect your phone in any way to your PC.

Argos had a maximum number of 10k cards allowed to load the offer. The slightly annoying thing is they leave the registration page up after this still and you don't get the error message you received until you try and load the offer. You do need to try and get in early, even if you don't redeem the offer until say that last day it's available. It's all about when you originally load to card/sign up.

Sorry you've missed out on this one. Hope it makes sense.

sure no problem, and thanks for the reply... just seemed odd... if I had been using a propper amex card I'd have assumed just that, but I was just weary due to the non-amex amex card and whether it was still eligible or not :)

Thanks again, I appreciate the limited numbers process, just hadn't read it o the page before entering..
