Come with me Chanchi and we can go on a nude vacation together !

I spent 2 months this year travelling around Asia after a TUI flight to Phuket with a 5 kgs carry on rucksack. First, they do not weigh the bag on the outward journey only on the return. The flight was so cheap I just used it as a one way flight out there and travelled back with a different carrier. You just go through security straight to the departure terminal where they scan your ticket at the desk as you board. Even with this advantage I only took the 5 kgs as T shirts, laundry and everything else you need costs very little in Asia. You can get a kilo of clothing washed and ironed for 70 p-£1. In fact I found not lugging a great big suitcase around filled with stuff I did not need an advantage. Great deals heat added.

I'm a naturist !

It's gone back up by £50 today. Bought it yesterday result.

If someone wants to buy a holiday package it is worth to check it also. Really good prices for one and two weeks holiday in mentioned destinations.

They also don't show you how big the beach is after a hurricane.

Could not agree more. I was climbing the walls after a couple of days.

I don't go on vacation, I go on holiday! If you'd been to the places I'd mentioned you'd know what I mean.

WOW! They dont show these pictures in the brochures ;)

Totally agree, long haul Benidorm all the way. Has exactly the same conversation with the other half when we came back last week. Don't forget the other highlights. Everybody tatted up, drinking sugary cocktails all day. All inclusive food, more of the same every day, 6 plates worth - what great value for money! Very friendly staff, who are even friendlier to the americans and Mexicans, who tip them for every drink and therefore they ignore everybody else. Great TUI club entertainment, for anybody who spent the last 25 years in a prison. Mexican Elvis was the worst of these... Don't forget the weekenders. particularly the young americans - under 21 year olds who start drinking at 10am only to be extracted by security at midday....The trips were good but a rip off..... Nice blue skies, blues seas, palm trees and yellow sand. Lovely. Shame about the seaweed......

Great ! See you there :)

Booked the iberostar. Thank you so much

Somebody expire please

I went a year back with no food poisioning neither did my wife. We were careful not to drink the tap water . Brushed our teeth with bottled water Avoided too much ice in drinks And also didnt have much fresh salad just in case it had been washed in tap water. Food was fine following those rules. But i appreciate resorts and food standards may alter

Come on people! We only know the reason people will go......for the NUTELLA KRISPY KREME RING DOGHNUTS!!! LOL

I think you were whooshed - the other half of the Island is Haiti!

Ok Mr Trump

Sounds like the place is a sh*thole!

I wouldn’t go back to Dominican. As others have said there is an uncomfortable feeling as the resorts are security controlled. Food is average and can’t drink the tap water. Went out the complex once and felt very unsafe.

Punta Cana is £229 one way and your title says it’s £300 return. Cancun is £179 one way so £358 return

Use these to Mexico and Vegas. Should’ve learned my lesson the first time but the price was too tempting! Awful airline for long haul. Hard plastic seats. Every 5 mins on the tannoy announcing what they’re selling next, what you can buy for arrival/departure, what you can buy for back home. Drinks... like you don’t need them on long haul... get your wallets out it’ll cost a lot for a family! Yes it’s a deal if you don’t mind a budget type flight but sorry it’s not for me.

Isn't that correct? 149 one way is 300?

Op, sale has started, however the prices are ONE WAY so your deal details needs updated.

They will be really grateful you turned up to help clear the mess left by the recent hurricane...And you never know there might even be some edible food for you to eat.....

There were issues in 2005 for sure and then again in either 2007 and 2008. I've read about more occurrences at the 3 hotels since then. It took me nearly 3 years to recover from my illness.

Pay a little more and go to Iberostar Costa Dorada, nearer to the airport too, been many times to Iberostar hotel, never had issues there, heard many bad reviews about Riu

Oh dear, I think I'll check the reviews before posting next time!

Yeah could have been the same year thinking back on it . Was over 200 people ill and we started a joint law suit against thomsons and won. Didn't seem so long ago but probably was , looking at reviews doesn't seem as if anything has changed much ,except standards being worse . My medical bill went straight to insurance but I managed to cop a look at it .. 2 pills , an injection , a saline drip and 6 hours in the docs .. A cool £500 .. Scandalous

I could have written that myself. Same experience although the bill went straight through insurance company so I never saw it. This was 2006. Lots of people on drips at the medical centre. Worst of all, missed the first half of one of the world cup games that year as a result...

Except that there's no border between them!!!!!! Idiot!!

We stayed at the bachata and noticed every new bottle of Smirnoff was already open . I asked for neat vodka to try and it was watered down a ridiculous amount while the locals at the weekend were buying unopened bottles of spirits from the staff at the swim up bar and bunging them a few dollars. Most of the spirits were just water wouldn't go here for free , 9 hours on a plane to go here!! Yeah right. We just been to Aruba .. More pricy but unbelievably better

Stayed at this hotel January 2016. Hated it, couldn't wait to get home and I was only there for 7 nights. Main cruise ship stop point hotel that lets all the passengers into the hotel and use the beach ( for a fee), rammed constantly. Crap rooms and facilities, food just about edible, drinks meh. There is a reason that this is so cheap! Avoid!

Yep. Hurricane season. Made that mistake many years ago. 14 days drinking watered down spirits while it lashed it down outside constantly

Then Scotland is miles away from England...

Cheapest I can find now £435pp to Cuba, gotta be quicker!

Most UK foreign exchange outlets don't convert the Mexican Peso so you either take loads of £ or use ATM's when you get there. Use a fee-free card and be aware that ATM's are surprisingly rare; I have seen large queues for an ATM in Puerto Vallarta. Also, 24Peso to the £ is still very good - it's just that it collapsed for a short while after Trump was elected due to his anti-Mexican campaign rhetoric.

I guess you could say this about anywhere over Easter, UK or abroad.

Only problem perhaps is that if it's a half decent hotel, then all the locals will possibly swarm the hotel as they're big on celebrating Easter, so they get preferential treatment. This is based on my experience when we got married there over the Easter period, granted it was only the Easter weekend.

Good deal. One of the best holidays I had with the kids.

I was believing the horror stories and feeling sympathetic until someone posted a link to an article in the daily fail. Now I'm not so sure. Agree if you're going all that way then the south of the Dominican has better hotels/climate/beaches and probably worth paying another couple of hundred quid for

stayed at this plush all inclusive when it was first built did not want to leave it's magical full of entertainment nightclub fab lodges and such a huge variety of cuisine I would give a 10 star never stayed at such a huge stylish hotel resort ....People are so friendly in the local area loved it xxx

Went in 98 I think and it was brill. These weekend passes for locals didn't exist back then. Great memories, won't be going back to ruin them

So that was in 2004? There were also major issues with this resort in 2005 and 2006 when I went. I wish I'd trawled back to the 2004 and 2005 reports on tripadvisor before I visited. The cheap deal (almost the same wasn't worth suffering for the next 3 years from the long term effects of whatever made me ill.

Most AI,s water down the spirits but it's the worst ever here . Every new bottle was already opened , cases of vodka , all pre opened , about 95% water . Mind you we did spot unopened stuff being sold to the locals and Puerto Ricans behind the pool bar . The food was very poor and lots of it . Cheap nasty resort .

Save your money . Place is a dive. It's Caribbean on the cheap. And dangerous. Better off going to Portugal or Spain this time of year and you'll be safer

Yes and so does Singapore, Thailand, Barbados, Mexico, Antigua, Fiji.. the list goes on. These countries have always had high risk of Malaria, Dengue fever etc you just have to be careful and wear Mosquito repellent. It's just the fact of travel, always has been and always will. No one is forcing you to go - it's still an excellent deal to an exotic location which you'd usually have to spend a lot more money getting to.

More than a couple of rainy days , October has an average of 10 to 14 days that rains , now it might only rain for an hour or so . The temps will be around 24-28 . And yes Zika like a few of the Caribbean islands , even Cancun has had 1 case of Zika

... so "High Risk - Widespread" same as Cape Verde(cheap flights recently posted by OP)... no suprise Thomson have many empty seats, so selling cheaply

I did Mexico in November-December some years back & I had good weather too :p I'm not a beach person really. I book holz when they're at the right price & I'm just back from Himalayas, the roads were Ice Road Trucker amazing, but probably a bit too exciting for you X)

No, you simply use common sense and travel to places at appropiate times, you wouldn't go skiing in Europe in the summer, so don't do beach holidays in hurricane season. Pay less than 20% more and go in the spring, I did Mexico in April last year and the weather was amazing. BTW it's the tropical storms that cause problems too. Same time as this holiday last year -

This deal's in Peurto Plata, which is miles from there. But in saying that, druggies are everywhere.

I would care about Zika but not hurricane. If we all start mithering like old women (no offence to elderly ladies), we would never do anything.

We will only ever go all inc in certain countries and it has to be a real 5* rating . With amazing trip advisor reviews . Yes it will cost more ££££ but it's worth it . But most places we go B&B . Just means we can go out to bars and restaurants every night . Dom Rep is not a place I would choose , Caribbean islands we love are Barbados, st Lucia,

It's been a few years now since I last went to the Dominican Republic, didn't go all inclusive, did the proper locals excursions that the tourists don't see as my ex had friends who lived out there. During the two weeks I got bit by a spider the size of a small infants hand (no exaggeration, it was actually probably bigger) which turned my skin pure black for about 3 weeks on that part of my leg, spent 4 hours in hospital having poison tests (cleaner than any hospital I've stepped in over here and I'm not kidding, spotless) I also got stung by some small insect (can't remember it's name now) that had a kind of acid in its sting that scarred my hand on the back which I still have to this day, that was another two hours in the local doctors (not as clean as ours) all this after swimming with a wild turtle in a hidden lagoon, which in Dominican folklore seeing a turtle is supposed to bring luck. Other than that, fantastic holiday!!!

Someone please explain to me why you would spend all that money to travel all that distance and then stay in a holiday camp eating holiday camp food and drinking holiday camp beer?

thanks for the feedback copystuff.
