They also don't show you how big the beach is after a hurricane.

Could not agree more. I was climbing the walls after a couple of days.

WOW! They dont show these pictures in the brochures ;)

Shieldsy64

Totally agree, long haul Benidorm all the way. Has exactly the same conversation with the other half when we came back last week. Don't forget the other highlights. Everybody tatted up, drinking sugary cocktails all day. All inclusive food, more of the same every day, 6 plates worth - what great value for money! Very friendly staff, who are even friendlier to the americans and Mexicans, who tip them for every drink and therefore they ignore everybody else. Great TUI club entertainment, for anybody who spent the last 25 years in a prison. Mexican Elvis was the worst of these... Don't forget the weekenders. particularly the young americans - under 21 year olds who start drinking at 10am only to be extracted by security at midday....The trips were good but a rip off..... Nice blue skies, blues seas, palm trees and yellow sand. Lovely. Shame about the seaweed......

Agree with the comment above whilst this is a good deal this is nowhere near Disney or universal as a park. We spent a day here and regretted it. I can’t see anyone needing to spend more time here than one day. Very poor disability awareness amongst the staff for my disabled daughter as well.

It is clearly explained in description and i have amended title to reflect this as well.

Just checked, you can get the flight only for £299 (posted as another deal 😜) - so bargain flight will let you book your own car if desired

What insurance do you get with the car? As might be cheaper to look for flight and car separate?

As I said, many staff volunteer to be at the resorts because of how safe it is to be there - this came from the mouths of the very people who were there at the time. Yes, there are people who have families to look after. Yes, a hurricane is terrible to have to live through. Yes, tourists go there without a care in the world. But if tourism stopped, so would the money coming in, hence the livelihoods of the majority of the local area would take a huge hit. You also have to remember that whilst the resorts remain open, all the parks were closed down. This allows for the majority of staff to be at home with their families. And with the reduced number of visitors over the 10 days or so surrounding the hurricane, fewer staff would be required than normal.

jimbo1976

I’ve family who live in Florida, and your best time was their worse. Imagine the poor staff wanting to be at home with their families whilst a handful of tourists jollied about without a care in the world

dfarrall

Sadly nearly £800 for 2 :(

Quaker_Boy

I went last year during Irma. We arrived on the Wednesday, Irma hit on Sunday night. It was simply the BEST time to go. Planes stopped landing a couple of days after we arrived, which meant fewer guests arriving, and locals were preparing to knuckle down through the bad weather. This meant that all the parks were empty. We literally walked straight onto every single ride* without a single second queued up behind other people, no matter the time of day. We queried a cast member in Epcot about queue time for Frozen Ever After. He said it would be about an hour long at this time of day. We got there and walked straight onto the ride. We were staying at a Disney hotel however, which I highly recommend for many reasons, but mostly during hurricane season due to the building regulations they have to adhere to - many staff members volunteer to work during hurricanes so they know they'll be in a safe place. We did have 2 days down time in the hotel due to parks closing for the wind, but that was little price to pay for going to Disney/Universal without crowds. *New Avatar and King Kong rides excluded.

You like it cold then? Weather is usually great. Although I'd agree that you should avoid September if you don't want to risk hurricanes. Vey rare for parks to be closed but they do suspend rides every now and again until a storm blows over. This is a great price for summer hols (£1k each for flights alone for us next week), although around here we're back to school 3 September.

matth5182

This won't apply to everyone but Bluelight card holders / civil servants with access to Edenred discount scheme can get a further 4% off. It does involve purchasing a gift card and then ringing TC to take the payment from the gift card and refund your original payment method but it's worth it on this kind of spend. Once purchased the gift card can be reloaded as and when needed. At least once a year the discount increases to 8%. It can be used in conjunction with the discount codes on the TC site and TCB as it is totally seperate. Hope this helps some people

rustybin

We go every other July/August for 5 weeks and it's incredible. Use a little common sense and the heat is more than bearable.

fifthcolumn

We went in August last year and strongly advise against it. It was excruciatingly hot and humid during the day, making Disney world even more insufferable, followed by heavy thunderstorms almost every evening. To round it off, we only just missed the hurricane on our way out. I'd recommend avoiding the entire US Mexican gulf area in July-August- better off going during Easter holidays.

There are errors and then there are errors, like flight glitches that have been honoured. This is just a cheap late deal and I'd be very, very surprised if it was an error. It's been on the site more than 24 hours now and still available so if they were going to pull it, they would have done already. Florida prices have been dropping and it's becoming common to see packages like this sub £300pp.

rob.kendrick

We got a similar deal back in January. We were able to book and pay in full but then got a call within 5 days to say it was a website error and that they would refund in full. They sent me the t&c’s and it stated they had every right to cancel and refund. This will be the same. 100%

I don't know about everywhere else in Scotland but certainly out local schools recognise life experience and the education it gives you is as important as formal education.. it not just holidays I take them out for we go on day trips in school term, especially when we have friends on holiday here wanting to see the area... all the better when they fit with something they are studying.. the younger ones get asked to take photos and report back to class too so everyone gains something... by no means are you actively encouraged, you are also expected not to so so at the detriment of thier leaning.. use your common sense regarding exam time ect.. but it certainly ain't frowned upon way it appears to be in England.

We went in May last year and only had one storm and a few short showers that quickly dried out. The showers/rain is apocalyptic not like the drizzle we get here, however it is warm water and once it stops you dry very quickly. My main tip is not to go inside an air conditioned building whilst wet, it's better to stay outside and dry off first. Apparently the weather is better in April but Easter crowds are horrendous.

Quite a good movie that shows the other side of Orlando. What surprised me most about the film was that the owners of the motel which is still open, allowed it to be used and pretty much portrayed in a negative light, but I suppose any publicity is good publicity. Agreed Defoe is great in the film, but the young actress who played the main character stole the show. Made me want a Twistee Treat. :)

schnide

It's a strangely quite, reflective film. Fans of Transformers 1-13 etc. will hate it. I struggled through some of it and to be honest, some of it only clicked a little while after it had finished. Willem Defoe is great in it, for fans of him (which includes me)!

Hi we brought ours in advance as it was cheaper and buying them in advance ment we got the Disney memory maker and fast track for some rides, where as if we brought them in Florida we wouldn’t have got that. I found ticket prices online and Thomas Cook matched them. And we used uber over there to get to the Disney parks as it was cheaper than the bus or taxi

safesound

It's expensive no matter where you buy the tickets and there's no way around it either, if you want to go to the park you have to pay the (astronomical) price. When we went last June we bought from https://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/ but have a look about as the companies that sell the tickets often try to outdo each other with perks or free add ons.

Qays_Al-Joburi

Hi, would you be able to advise on where is the best place to buy park tickets from? In advance or at the parks or do you know any websites? Kind regards
