Tesco (Weston Favell Northampton) are doing the big bags for £1 each Not sure if it is nationwide.
Co-op are doing the big bags for £1.50 too, of course with NUS this brings them down to £1.35 so £2.70 a ticket
I'm thinking asda price match if the other supermarkets are cheaper but don't have the promotional packs....

Plenty of tickets left at Cineworld Sheffield. We have one of the biggest screens and with digital laser imax it's the only way to experience these films. It also £2.70 with an unlimited card!!
Great deal. Shame they're only in Crawley, Milton Keynes or Sheffield!

But the Sheffield IMAX is tiny and not even the correct aspect ratio (closer to 16:9). The only other DL IMAX is Empire Leicester Square and is only marginally bigger. A friend of mine has seen digital laser and says the picture quality is vibrant but claims that 15/70 traditional IMAX protection is better. But I do really like the sound of digital laser and can't wait to see it.

I thought it was outstanding. Fair enough only about half the size of the biggest Imax screens but still much bigger than a regular one. I sat half way up and the screen filled my complete vision. Sound is the best I've heard yet.
Digital will never beat film at any size but there's only one way cinemas are going and that's all digital in future.

Have Cineworld even got any decent sized Imax screens? The one in … Have Cineworld even got any decent sized Imax screens? The one in Nottingham is quite small

The majority of Cineworld IMAX's are tiny and the incorrect aspect ratio (meaning that they cannot correctly show footage shot on IMAX cameras). However the Glasgow Science Centre (Cineworld has a lease) is a true IMAX but has unfortunately switched to digital projection. The best IMAX's to visit are probably BFI London (Odeon) - if you can catch a 15/70 presentation or the Science Museum in London (note - not Cineworld), which only shows 15/70 presentations. Some of the digital laser IMAX's sound good but they are quite small. If you are interested then the only Cineworld Digital Laser is Sheffield.

A lot of them are rubbish conversions and quite dark films where you're not going to notice much 3D especially Green Lantern. Best conversion at the moment is Jurassic Park which looks great and is done by the same people that converted Titanic.

Didn't last long
They have taken a few titles off that were available earlier including 3D steelbooks. Looks like it's working OK now although all the good stuff has dissapered.
Works fine for me too if there is no price at the bottom of the picture of that film there out of stock

Working fine here, not sure why that's happening. Maybe try opening each selection in separate tabs and adding to basket one by one?

The first one was great I thought but more than any of the new Marvel fans it was very fan targeted as it's based on the excellent run by one of the best comic writer around right now, Ed Brubaker. Winter Soldier should be amazing as the Winter Soldier comic was fantastic. It's more a kin to the modern spy films like Bourne etc.

Just Cancelled 1 ticket for Manchester Printworks
Just cancelled my two tickets for Liverpool.
I'm assuming this is being shown on the IMAX screen since it's at IMAX theatres, but can't tell for sure. If not, I'd rather wait and just pay for it. Does anyone know for sure if this will be on the IMAX screen?

If anyone's going to the Southampton one and wants to share a ride/petrol, please message me.

Thanks!

Do you have kids? 10am is is almost tea time to my 2.... lol

I understand that 10 isn't 'early' for parents, but if you're not living in London, and want to make a day trip to see the sights, watch a movie at the cinema, you're going to have to be getting up very early. Hard to complain at the prices though

Most of the "normal" (as opposed to kids) IMAX screenings I have seen at this location have been well worth it!! I live about 50-60 mins from London and don't mind making the journey specifically to visit the BFI IMAX.

This year I have seen Oz The Great and Powerful, Iron Man 3 and also Pacific Rim, all in 3D IMAX. All big blockbusters which translated well to the massive screen and made for an immersive and exciting cinema experience. I've got to say I'm not usually too keen on 3D, but here it is something else!!

There is only 3 proper IMAX screen's in this country and this is one of … There is only 3 proper IMAX screen's in this country and this is one of them. Not sure about the technicalities with this one though because it supports fakemax as well (IMAX Digital). Are the IMAX 2D ones using IMAX Digital. And the rest proper 70mm IMAX ?Or are they IMAX Digital but 3D the rest of them.(Makes it so difficult to find real IMAX stuff (Shot using IMAX Camera / 70mm).IMAX is 4:3 as well widescreen is unnecessary when the screen is big enough.(Problem is what the source is designed for.)The branding has confused the matter massively. (Upscaling something to IMAX is never going to be as good as doing it properly).I enjoyed Gladiator on IMAX at this screen. (Don't think IMAX 2D or IMAX Digital existed at the time.)(At least with the Bradford one it doesn't support anything other than real IMAX so if it is on there then you can presume it exists at least in the proper format).

As far as I can tell the only two that are in full screen IMAX are How … As far as I can tell the only two that are in full screen IMAX are How to Train... and KFP2 - however the others are still shown in a huge picture, bigger than a standard cinema.

If you are in London it is a total no brainer there is no point in ever going anywhere else.

(It is not like the Bradford one that only has a tiny number of showings that usually end in the middle of the night after the museum is shut).

That part of the last Batman where it goes into proper IMAX was worth it. (I would go to London to see something at this place if it was worth it and the least amount of hassle).
